The Mac Pro: Has Apple Forgotten Its Professional User Base?
I've been thinking about this topic for quite some time now, and I don't blame people for assuming that Apple has forgotten about its professional user base with the Mac Pro. It's been a long time since we've heard anything new about the Mac Pro, and there have been hints about a possible release of a thinner server-sized Mac Pro. However, I honestly don't see that happening. The design of the Mac Pro is pretty much perfect in my opinion, and if Apple were to release a new one with entirely new specs, it's kind of tricky for me to think that they would change the design.
It's not just about aesthetics; there are some very important considerations at play here. For example, will they include an optical drive? I know that Apple has been phasing out optical drives from their devices in recent years, and while I don't blame them for doing so (it is a feature that takes up space and is becoming less relevant with the rise of digital media), it's still something that some professionals would miss. For instance, someone like me who needs to author DVDs occasionally would really miss having an optical drive. But at the same time, I could just use an external burner as a substitute.
So while I don't think that Apple is abandoning its professional user base, I do think that they're holding back on the Mac Pro for one reason or another. It's what maybe 3-4% of Apple's overall Macintosh market share, but it's still an important system for professionals who need a powerful and reliable desktop computer. And while we've seen some nice upgrades to other Apple devices in recent years (like the iMac with Thunderbolt accessories), I just don't think that they can get away with phasing out the Mac Pro entirely.
I actually think that Apple's pro future is very bright, and that they're just taking a step back to refine their strategy before making any major moves. And yes, I do think that we'll see some upgrades to the Mac Pro in the near future - perhaps even at WWDC, where Apple typically announces new hardware and software updates.
One thing's for sure: if Apple does decide to release a new Mac Pro, it's going to be big news. The rumors are already starting to swirl, and while I don't usually buy into speculation (I've been burned by false rumors before!), this one seems particularly credible. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
For now, the Mac Pro is still an important part of Apple's lineup - even if it doesn't always get the attention it deserves from fans and reviewers alike. And while we wait for any potential updates, it's worth taking a moment to appreciate just how much the Mac Pro has contributed to Apple's success over the years.

Pro do you think the Mac Pro is dead or will they release a new one thanks dooki no thank you okay so this is an excellent topic is the Mac Pro dead as you may or may not know it's Apple's desktop Tower it's huge weighs about 50 lbs and it's insanely expandable which is why I appreciate mine so much I easily easily worked out the value of it I put so many upgrades into it uh multiple graphics cards multiple hard drives and SSD uh RAM upgrades which I'm a little behind on I only have five gigs I really should have like 10 by today's standards uh but basically it's all around an excellent machine especially for someone like me who does all kinds of work I do video editing graphic design web design I had to drive these two monitors so it's kind of native in that way that I'm using a graphics card built for that instead of using other methods that's I'm just very picky when it comes to that but the point is the Mac Pro is an awesome system however it hasn't been updated in what two years maybe not two years maybe maybe it has been two years either way it's been such a long time so I don't blame people people for saying Apple has forgotten the Mac Pro I don't blame people for assuming that the Mac Pro is dead because honestly it seems dead right now I mean we haven't heard anything in such a long time now there have been hints about Apple releasing a thinner Mac Pro like a server size Mac Pro I honestly don't see that happening I got to be honest guys the design is pretty much perfect I love the Mac Pro Design so if they release I always forget to activate caffeine if they release a new Mac Pro like with like entirely new inerts like new specs whatever but a same design that's perfectly fine with me um it's kind of tricky because if they do release a new one which I honestly think they will which I'll talk about in a second it's kind of tricky I mean will they have an optical drive or will they not I mean Apple's been killing the optical drive for a good reason I mean I really don't blame them but for someone like me who has to uh author DVDs probably at least once a month or once every two months for clients it is a feature I would miss then again it's not a huge deal I could just slap it an external uh burner so I honestly don't see what the problem is there you know I could just ramble on and on about this topic this has been something on my mind for a while now but let me just say this I don't believe the Mac Pro is dead I believe it's just too important of a system for Apple to kill sure it's what maybe 3 4% of Apple's overall Macintosh Market chair it could be smaller than that a little larger I'm really not sure but it's just too important for professionals and it's just I just don't see apple killing it I just don't think we're at that point yet where they can get away with that sure we have the iMac with Thunderbolt accessories and all the all that awesome stuff but for me personally I will always prefer a nice desktop experience like my Mac Pro sure maybe I'll get over that within 5 years but I just don't think we're at that stage yet where we can get away with killing such a large desktop so with that said will we see upgrades very soon I think so with Ivy bridge and whatever else they're going to come out with um will it be at WWDC it could be uh honestly I think Apple's going to release new Macbook Pros during WWDC they don't typically release new hardware but I think it's time with all these rumors I mean rumors are very strong right now and I don't particularly I mean I don't usually buy into rumors but the rumors are so strong and they're kind of hard to ignore at this point so let's hope we see something Hardware related at w WDC whether it's MacBook Pros or Mac Pros I think Apple's Pro future is very bright I think people are a little too quick to jump on Apple and think they're just abandoning the pro users I don't think that's the case I mean everyone freaked out when they revamped fonica Pro but yes thank you very much Doki for your question I really appreciate it I know I went overboard but the Mac Pro is such a huge topic and just to reiterate my answer for those lost in that
