**A Summer to Remember: My Review of "Second Chance Summer" by Morgan Matson**

This book is all about Emily, you know, learning who she is, learning to be without Sloane. Learning to try to find Sloane. What's really cool about this book is that Sloane is known for leaving lists for Emily, like when she went on vacation to Paris, and still left her a list of things to do. Emily gets a note in the mail from Sloan, and it just has a list on it. On that list, there are easy things like apple picking at night, sleeping under the stars, there are also some really scary things like going skipping, skinny dipping, kissing a stranger. This whole list is about Emily's summer, and she's trying to tick all these off to maybe, just maybe, lead her closer to Sloan.

**Why I Love Morgan Matson's Writing Style**

I love Morgan Matson's way of writing that automatically draws me in. I don't know what it is, but she writes characters that I can connect to very easily. She writes people that I just really love. Overall, I love this book. If you're looking for an amazing contemporary novel, or if you haven't got enough contemporary novels from my channel lately, here's another one to pick up. This book is great for summer reading, and it's perfect on the love department. It's just an overall a great book.

**Music and Book Pairing: Amy and Roger's Playlist**

Morgan Matson is also great at putting playlists in her books. For any type of playlist or book, I highly recommend picking up "Amy and Roger's Epic Reading Adventure". She graded that one, and she does great with this one too. I marked some of the playlists, and I love them so much. As a runner, Ellie is the main character, and these are her running playlists. I just ugh, I love it so much.

**The Main Character: Emily**

Emily was a very likable girl. You can connect to her easily. She's kind of like that shy girl that we all know. It's hard to find yourself when you're in the shadow of your best friend. Sloane is her best friend, but sometimes we get lost in the shadow of our best friend because we just do things because the best friend said so. I really liked Emily learning to branch out and be amazing. She meets new friends like Frank, and I love Frank. There's also a pizza girl named Dawn, and another guy whose name I'm horrible at remembering.
