430HP VW GOLF GTI TCR _ REVIEW on AUTOBAHN [NO SPEED LIMIT] by AutoTopNL

**A Unique Take on the Volkswagen Golf: A Review**

The Volkswagen Golf is a popular compact car known for its reliability and versatility. Recently, I had the opportunity to test drive a modified version of the Golf that caught my attention. The car's owner, Malik, had taken it upon himself to modify the vehicle with various upgrades that aimed to improve performance and driving experience.

One of the first things I noticed when getting into the car was the steering wheel. It wasn't too thick, which I appreciate, and it felt premium in terms of quality. The Alcantara trim on the gear lever added a touch of sophistication to the interior, and Malik had installed pedal extenders that made it easier to operate the pedals. These extenders were designed to resemble aluminum pedals, which not only looked cool but also provided a comfortable driving experience.

The interior of the car was another area where I noticed significant improvements over the standard Golf Mark 8 setup. The Apple CarPlay integration and regular buttons for climate control were well thought out, making it easy to navigate the various functions without having to swipe or click too much. The vector display screen provided a wealth of information about the car's performance, including torque, turbo pressure, DSG temperature, exhaust temperature, and Lambda readings. This feature was customizable, allowing the owner to tailor the display to their preferences.

Malik had also opted for a limited-slip differential on the TCR model, which was activated when he put the car in sport mode. This feature helped distribute power more evenly between the front wheels, especially during high-speed driving. The gearbox shifted up automatically, but Malik had mentioned that manual mode wasn't available due to a remapped TCU system.

The exterior of the car featured a few notable modifications, including an APR intake at the front and a blow-off valve that produced a loud sound when activated. These upgrades were likely installed by BBM Motorsport, which had done a great job tuning the car's engine. The result was a 430-horsepower output, which I estimated to be around 9.46 seconds from 0-100 km/h.

On the Autobahn, I found that the car performed exceptionally well, with Malik stating that it went up to 290 kilometers an hour without too much trouble. While there was a limiter in place, I suspected that the car could do slightly higher speeds without exceeding its performance limits. Overall, the tune had been done well, and the car felt very responsive and powerful.

One aspect of the car's behavior that caught my attention was its handling at high speeds. The car navigated the Autobahn with ease, providing a smooth and stable ride despite the high speed. Malik mentioned that he enjoyed driving it and hoped I had enjoyed watching him drive it as well.

As a conclusion, I found the modified Volkswagen Golf to be an enjoyable and impressive car. The various upgrades made a significant difference in its performance and driving experience, making it a great option for those looking for a unique take on the classic compact car.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this POV review by Auto top andal my name is Max and today we are taking a look at another viewer's car this is Malek's VW Golf GTI TCR and it is not stock NOW recently we did the GTI Club sport Mark 8 and a lot of you were saying that you liked the Mark 7 better so when Malik sent us a message asking us if we wanted to drive his Golf GTI Mark 7.5 TCR of course we were interested this car has been tuned very well and today I'm going to show you around it we'll do a quick recap of what the TCR is because we have covered that before and after that I'll take it for a little drive towards the old man for an ottoman blast now if you want to check out my like on Instagram you can by using the handle great TCR go check him out uh this is a beautiful car I have to say in this sort of nor Auto gray type color maybe the prettiest golf of the modern era I I do quite like it I like the aggression of it the the nice front end of course with that red line the Red Bar running across the front grille with these nice Accents in the front lights as well now the TCR gets a new front bumper a bit more aggressive with a little splitter down there uh in gloss black which is very nice especially the contrast with that gray this however is an addition I think is aftermarket it does look very cool with a little Canard there as well oh yeah that's definitely off the market but it does look very nice the gloss black details you get that on a TCR touring car racing I think TCR stands for of course a little bit of a marketing trick sort of uh a swan song model for the 7.5 GTI uh when it left before the Mark 8 came as you know one loss of raw for the 7.5 golf the seven golf so the pre-facelift of course had the club Sport and the club sport s this is similar to that so a little bit of an upgrade here and there 290 horsepower so that is 45 horsepower more than the Golf GTI performance 380 newton meters of torque so that it's 10 more and just you know it is a way to fill the gap between the GTI performance and the Golf R now you do get some upgraded Springs and dampers and these optional 19-inch Wheels as standard you get 18s if you go for the 19 you also get the DCC Dynamic chassis controls are the dynamic dampers on this car so if you go for the 19-inch you get that as well but this car has h r Springs you also get upgraded brakes on the TCR now a little bit of a red diesel there that is also pretty cool carbon mirror caps some black stuff down there side skirts stickers black roof I think that is a wrap but that does look pretty cool and then you get the gloss black on the spoiler here and on the side a little bit of a spoiler there and a very aggressive diffuser with the optional acrapovic exhaust as well Center silencer is gone on this car which does give it a nice sound and it does sound a little bit frootier than the regular exhaust of course so what has Malik done to his car let's check it out well firstly let's check out this oh my god do you guys want to see that again here it goes listen to that sound yeah you get a manual one in the golf Mark eight so you have to use like this freaking stalk to keep it up the previous model had a gas strut the next one doesn't get that anymore the golf Mark eight I I don't know there are so many things that I question on that car but anywho so we've got a couple of very nice mods on this car an APR intake here in carbon fiber very nice and then Malik also got this part out and made like a little extra intake here and they opened up this part as well that part to get more air into that intake of course we've got an upgraded Garrett turbo which is rated at like 500 horsepower and then we've got an hjs downpipe 200 cell catalytic converter turbo inlet and Outlet pipes are bigger and and we've got a TCU remap so the transmission software has been remapped an ECU remap of course a high pressure fuel pump from an Audi RS3 a Wagner intercooler and that brings the total to 430 horsepower and 550 newton meters of torque so that is pretty damn nice from 290 to 430 that is a healthy increase and as you probably know I like my golf gtis to be front wheel driven or I like my fast golfs to be front wheel driven I think you can just have more fun with one driven axle basically whether that is front or rear doesn't really matter if you have the choice rear of course but Golf R compared to a Golf GTI especially a TCR or Club sport I just I just don't like I like this better especially you know this car has way too much power for the front axle to handle and that means that you have to work you have to like be gentle with the throttle when you get out of a corner you know you have to do something yourself it's not just floor it and the car fixes everything and you're basically yeah playing a computer game no you have to do some stuff yourself to get out of a corner as fast as possible which I like so yeah I like this kind of setup so on the interior you get this very sporty seat with a little bit of Alcantara and of course this nice pattern in there GTI logo as well and an Alcantara steering wheel now start it up this is actually a very nice steering wheel not too thick and an Alcantara on the gear lever as well and Malik installed these pedal extenders which normally I'm not a fan of but this feels like aluminum because it is that is that aluminum it feels kind of cool to the touch I don't know if I don't know anyway it is good to have them because the standard pedals are just so tiny and it's nice to have a little bit more you know to work with that's what she said anyway uh interior wise very nice I like this much better than the golf Mark 8 interior setup because this works just way better you've got apple carplay and stuff like that and you have regular buttons for the climate stuff which I always prefer you've got some important stuff here like the driving mode the traction control Park distance and then you have your volume here so they already started going away from buttons in this one which I also don't like how does that work do you have to swipe or do you have to click see if it were a button I would have figured that out immediately but this is better than the golf Mark 8 and now we've got a vector display here with all kinds of data like torque turbo pressure DSG temperature exhaust temperature Lambda whatever you've got every and I guess it's customizable as well so that is also pretty nice so let's go and have some fun you also get a limited slip diff on the TCR put that in sport and um that is a good thing that limited slip because you know that's a lot of power you're putting on the front wheels so that limited slip div really helps putting the power to the right wheel especially of course when you add power like Malik has done I mean this is a lot more power than stock so second gear traction control turn that off so second gear that is not bad so it doesn't struggle that much especially when you have the front wheels pointing in the right direction this but the gearbox shifts up automatically so what is manual mode about that you know it's not manual mode so this car has had a tissue remap I don't really understand why it's still there I can imagine that that would be something you can fix you know with a TCU remap but I don't know I don't know enough about that to say that with 100 certainty but I would think that that would be something you would do foreign does sound pretty nice and then you've got that APR intake at the front you've got that blow off which is pretty loud we've got some nice sounds coming from this little golf pretty cool so on to the Autobahn oh man it is quite fast and I have to say the tune has been done quite well I really like all these mods it's been done by BBM Motorsport quite like it so here we go yeah VW race there we go so on the Autobahn expansion wise I have to say it is pretty nice even though it has those h r Springs it's not too hard I am in sport mode right now so that is the most sporty setting I actually think it's not bad 100 to 200 kilometers an hour we measure that of course and this car did at 9.46 run which is very quick actually so 430 horsepower is definitely there picks up very well you've got that bigger turbo of course so it should be able to keep going a little bit longer a little bit easier than you would have just an easier remap and an intercooler turbo just has a bit more you know of a longer breath to do stuff like this with 75 without too much trouble now the car actually still has a limiter and it is at around 290 kilometers an hour but this car would do 300 kilometers an hour without too much trouble I think that is 289 as I said won't go much faster than that but it does so very easily so it is a quick little goal of this so what I really like about this car is that the tune has been done in sort of oh no friend she broke down I think they did they crash I think they might have made a little crashy crash or did he run out of fuel he actually ran out of fuel so what I really like about this tune is it has it's a very it's just a very nice tune you know it it has the right mods it doesn't smell it doesn't have like a droning exhaust sound it's not been tuned too hard it's just very well done it performs well it's quick sounds nice so Malak you've got a great TCR here really enjoyed driving it I hope you enjoyed watching it on our Channel to you guys thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed it you can
