I finally decided to focus on reading and my day started with The Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Long Way Home graphic novel, which had 136 pages and I finished it because it was super fast. I liked it, but I didn't love it, and to be honest, it got kind of confusing - it jumped around a lot, and I was like "what's going on?" But still, it's Buffy, so I'm still going to love it. I have books 1 through 8, which is a complete bind-up of Buffy, so hopefully, I'll get that soon for my library. So far, I've finished 136 pages, and I read 111 pages of "I Never Told You" by Celeste in G - oh my gosh, it was amazing! It's a mystery, and it's actually an adult book, which I didn't know beforehand, but I'm proud of myself for reading it because I've never really read an adult mystery before. It was loved it.
My last book started with "book ends" by Jane Green, and I'm about 108 pages into this, so I read a lot yesterday. I had a lot of time because my husband was playing the drums at band practice, and I might as well just read while he's doing that, which is how I get a lot of reading done sometimes. But honestly, it's not wowing me - it's kind of boring if I'm being completely honest, but I'm already 100 pages in, and I think the total page count for the book is around 358. I have a lot to go, but I think I could probably finish this quickly.
Now, let's talk about the video challenge that was mentioned - there was a "recreate the cover" challenge, which honestly, I'm not going to attempt to do. But I'll tell you my top three books from BookTube, and they are all "Because of..." series by various authors. The first one is "Across the Universe" by Beth Revis, which drew me in with its cover - but it was actually a book that made me buy it because I've heard so many good things about it, and it's sci-fi. It's one of my all-time favorite series, and if you guys haven't read this series, you really should. The next one is "Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell - it was my first Rainbow Rowell book, and I'm now obsessed with her books. And the last one is "The Fifth Wave" by Rick Yancey - this blew up on BookTube, and I was like "let me just see what all the fuss is about," and it quickly became my number two favorite book of last year.
