Tech That Makes Social Distancing Easier

Are you getting cabin fever during this corona virus pandemic? I know I am. Social distancing it's an effective way to reduce your risk of catching and spreading kovat 19, but it can make life kind of tedious. So here's some fun ways technology can help you add friends to your current one-person Wolfpack and still stay healthy. I'm not pointing fingers or anything, but I would bet you're watching this video right now in your sweatpants with messy hair glasses on, maybe you haven't showered today my hygiene over the last week has been questionable at best.

For those of you who are actually working from home and being a little lazy with your appearance, Zoom the video conferencing app is here to help. Before your next conference call go to the lower left-hand corner of your screen click on video settings and check the box marked touch up my appearance. If you've maybe quit putting your face on during this whole social distancing, maybe you let those bags under your eyes get darker and possibly haven't been brushing your teeth very much, the Zoom video filter will smooth all of that out.

But seriously, keep brushing your teeth and while working from home continue to live that mout lifestyle. Business up top party down below if you're like me, you've been binge watching The Office for years and even more so now during this corona virus pandemic. Okay maybe just the first part was just me watching movies alone isn't as fun and social distancing is really cramping in on the old Netflix and chill.

Netflix is here to help make your binge-watching experience more social. As for the chill part, you'll have to figure that out on your own. Netflix and Google have teamed up to offer a Google Chrome extension that allows you to sync your Netflix account with others so you're both watching the same thing in real time. The new app also has a side bar where you can chat with your friends while you watch your favorite content together.

We all know that one friend who's on their phone the whole time not paying attention and then ask you a million questions and talks over the movie, well now you can just answer them through the chat. It's not drinking alone if your dog's home but if you want to imbibe with someone that you don't have to talk to like this you're going to have to get creative in the wake of social distancing.

People are taking to virtual happy hours to kick back, have a few brewskies and chop it up with their friends whether it's FaceTime in your BFF or a video call with a group of co-workers on Zoom, Skype or Google hang. You can still have drinks with your friends, social distancing hasn't stopped me and my roommates from even playing drinking games thanks to technology.

Social distancing doesn't have to affect your social life and like they say distance makes the heart grow fonder right if you have any other ways to stay social during an age of social distancing let us know in the comments below. Until next time I'm Riley Wynn with Digital Trends and thanks for watching
