CES 2013 Has Kicked Off Already: Sony Unveils its Latest Smartphones
How's it going guys, techn buffo? CES 2013 hasn't kicked off just yet, but that's not stopping me from announcing some awesome smartphones. I've got gum in my mouth, long day had a lot of coffee, and my breath probably stinks – people don't like that, it's a bad thing, and it's only 6:00. We've got more events to go to, so I need to keep fresh breath. That's not what you're here to hear, though; you're here to hear about the Sony Xperia ZL.
This is another smartphone from Sony that was announced today, packing some pretty cool specifications all around. It's got a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 CPU with 2 GB of RAM. But that's not all – it also features a 5-inch full HD 1080 X1 1920 display with the mobile Bravia Engine 2. This phone is equipped with an impressive camera, boasting 13 megapixels and the ability to record 1080p HD video. It also comes with 4G LTE connectivity, stamina mode, and a range of other cool features.
One thing that stands out about this device is its design – it's slightly different from the Xperia Z you're probably familiar with. The power button is still on the side, as well as the camera shortcut button, but volume rocker is still on the right side. Design-wise, it looks a bit different than what we've seen in previous builds of Sony, even when comparing it to the Xperia Z. You can see a revised version of Sony's Timescape user interface, complete with new features like "own order" up top, which allows you to customize your experience alphabetically – my favorite feature so far.
This phone should be more than fine to operate, thanks to its 5-inch display. Another great thing about this device is its NFC capabilities – it offers great functionality between Sony's products and services. That's something Sony's really pushing in 2013; they're trying to push the boundaries of connectivity and synchronization amongst their company's products and services. We'll see if this phone fits the bill, hopefully it'll come to the States soon.
