The Benefits and Features of the Accara U50 Smart Lock
After setting up the app, users can enable voice assistants to unlock their doors by speaking commands such as "Hey Alexa, unlock the door" or "Ok Google, open the front door." This feature allows for hands-free unlocking, making it convenient for users who prefer not to use physical keys. Additionally, users can create a pin code to access their lock, providing an extra layer of security.
To set up voice assistance, users need to head back into the Accara app and allow voice assistants to work. They then need to enable unlock by voice as well as create a pin code. This process is straightforward and requires minimal technical expertise. Once set up, users can use their voice assistant to unlock their doors, making it easier to access their homes without having to physically interact with the lock.
One of the key features of the Accara U50 smart lock is its ability to integrate with various home automation systems. For example, when setting up a new room in the app, users are given the option to add a "Home Key" feature. This allows residents and guests of the home to unlock the door by entering an access code on the keypad. Users can also use their Home Key devices to unlock the door quickly and conveniently.
Another convenient feature of the Accara U50 is its ability to integrate with Apple's HomeKit system. When setting up a new device, users are given the option to add it to their Home app. This allows them to control multiple devices from a single interface, making it easier to manage their home automation systems. Users can also use their iPhone or watch to unlock and lock their doors remotely.
One of the most useful features of the Accara U50 is its ability to automatically lock doors when they are not in use. When enabled, this feature ensures that users do not have to worry about leaving their doors unlocked when they are away from home. Additionally, if a user tries to unlock the door with an incorrect code or fails to open it after a few seconds, the system will automatically lock it again, providing an extra layer of security.
The Accara U50 also includes a feature called "Temporary Passwords." This allows users to create one-time passwords that can be shared with others for a limited time. Users can create periodic passwords as well, which can be used multiple times during a set period. These features are useful for allowing access to guests or contractors without having to share the actual access code.
Finally, the Accara U50 includes a feature called "Logs" that allows users to track who has accessed their lock and when. This provides an additional layer of security and transparency, as users can review the log to see who has been using their lock and at what times. Additionally, if a user fails to latch the door properly, the system will alert them and provide instructions on how to fix the issue.
In conclusion, the Accara U50 smart lock offers a range of convenient features that make it easier to manage home security. From voice assistants to temporary passwords, this lock provides users with peace of mind knowing that their home is secure. With its ability to integrate with various home automation systems and its automated locking feature, the Accara U50 is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home security system.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: engrowing up I remember my dad doing a nightly walk this is where he would peruse around the home making sure everything was ready for the next day most of the time it was just trying to find us hiding Because We snuck out to watch TV but one of the things I remember he would do was make sure all of the different locks in the home were secure and locked so that we were safe as we slept well I like doing that as a dad but also we live in the future so it's time to upgrade our home today we're going to be checking out the smartlock u50 by aara we're going to add this into the home show you how it can autolock work with matter all the different smart home and other automations in the home thanks so much to AAR for sponsoring this video let's get started now I previously reviewed the Smart Lock u00 now that was a great Smart Lock but the difference here is this is a little bit more affordable and it does not have a fingerprint sensor on the lock it still has all the other great features it's compatible with aara zigg 3.0 hubs to work with matter it works with Amazon Google as well as Apple home this also supports Apple home key so if you have a supported Apple watch or iPhone you're able to just simply tap to unlock and this is going to be great for the whole family to easily unlock the door without needing the key here I already mentioned the home key support it also has a door status sensing and auto lock so it knows if the door's open or closed and you can have it automatically locked once it closes it has a 6-month battery life has AES encryption remote password and unlocking you can also easily share passcodes to others and easy installation and some things to know it only only works with single cylinder doors you can have a back set of 2 and 38 or 2 and 3/4 a ph1 screwdriver is required and the supported hole diameter is 2 and18 in you may want to measure that before you try installing and then modifications may be necessary to the door to get this to work properly here are the three steps for installation and here it comes with everything we need to get this installed including batteries and two keys let's take off the old door lock now be very careful through this process and first I'm going to check to make sure this covers all of that so I don't need to paint it that looks like it's going to work here it does come with a whole cutting guide if you do need to check to make sure everything is going to fit properly and then we're going to start with the deadbolt making sure we're putting the top at the top and then if this fits Center we don't need to make any adjustments to the lock if it's not correct all you need to do is Twist this and then it gives it an extension and you can put it in but there you can see that is not Center and they were nice enough to put two different types of dead bolt covers here now here on this little plastic piece I had inserted it wrong and because I did that it did not function properly so make sure that where there's that little indention there it goes on the proper side of this that way it can go all the way down and you're not going to have any issues and here we're going to feed the outer plate through the dead bolt and making sure that little nub is on top no paint and on the inside we're going to add the mounting plate make sure the lock is level on the door now we're going to attach the cable and on the inner plate attach the tiny screws then we're going to attach the lock cover and let's test to see if it works perfect and remove the old strike plate and now we can add in the new now we're going to use the pry tool to remove move the cover and install the batteries and then once you put in the batteries it's automatically going to orient it if it's going to be a right or left lock and then I had to make sure that it was locking and unlocking freely so I had to make some adjustments to the door but now we can head into the acara app and add a new device so here I'm just going to add plus add an accessory now this will work directly over Wi-Fi but you can pair it with matter and other things when you connect it to an aara Hub which I do have the M2 Hub here we're going to go to smart door lock and there we have the u50 and here it gives you the installation guide but we have already finished that and now we're going to push the settings button and put in the code on the front and we're going to give it a name front door lock and we're going to add it into the corridor and here you can adjust the settings for the device card and we're going to save that now the next step is we're going to add users so we can add a bunch of different PIN codes for everybody in the family let's start with me and now I'm going to choose a 6 to 10 digit password and then I can also name that password now we're going to set up the door lock detection so this is how it can know if your door is closed or open we're just going to follow the instructions here on screen now we're going to go through the calibration process now if you're going to set up with home kit you can use the code but we're going to go ahead and close it up right now now while the u50 will work all by itself I am going to bind it to a hub by pressing this button we're going to connect it to our M2 Hub so that I can unlock all the features now that we have the u50 bound to our Hub let's go ahead and Rapid Fire some of the awesome features you can do with this Smart Lock first we have unlocking with a pin code so all you need to do is tap to wake up and then type in your code and there we go the door is now unlocked and here if we push the lock button two times then it will lock the door next up we have swipe block all we need to do is touch the keypad and now it has locked the door now if you aren't using a pin code you also have the option for the key that you can simply swipe down and put in the key to unlock now if your battery does run out you do have an option to power it via USBC down here to give it power to unlock your door and get inside and then we also have the option to autolock so this is one of my favorite features you can have it automatically lock the door as soon as you shut it or it's going to set certain times during the day where it automatically locks at night so that during the day the kids don't have to fiddle with the code if they're in and out of the home all right now the door's open when we shut it there it automatically locks locked and we can no longer enter so here we have the option to lock immediately or you can change a delay then you have the option to change the acting time so instead of all day you can set from the evening till the morning and then we have an option to turn on door unlocked alert so you can be notified when the lock has been locked so like my kid if I want to know when he has opened the door it would then send an alarm so you have a few options there now I'm going to go ahead and create some different automations that I can use with my other aara devices so typically during the day I don't have it on autolock so let's say my daughter comes home and I do want it to lock though if somebody is inside and there is presence detected so I'm going to use my fp2 sensor to be able to do this so from the door lock settings I can swipe down and go to related items of device and I can go to automations so here I'm going to add an if so let's go ahead and say if my sensor so my fp2 detects presence then I'm going to have it automatically lock the front door there we go we have created that Auto so now I have it set where if I enter this area and stay there for 5 seconds it's going to lock the lock so let's try that the mic's pointed at lock so you'll hear that it worked I just had to give that a few seconds and that works so now I have another automation I want to create so here we're going to go to if and we're going to choose the lock so here we have a bunch of different settings so from from the outside if it is unlocked then I want to turn on the mudroom light that's so there's a little bit of light illuminating your way all right so now we're going to turn that on then we're going to add a 10-minute delay and we're going to turn that off test it out and so there when I unlock the door it automatically turned on the mud room lights so that when I come into the home the house is illuminated and I can see where I'm going so I've been playing with a few different automations I now have one set up where when I unlock the door go inside it turns on some lights and it turns on some music with my Sonos speaker now the cool thing about this is there's so many different options with this you can add it do different things per each person that comes inside the door so different codes will set up different things let's try it out all right so I unlock the door and as we come in then it turns on the LED lights under here and then it should automatically start playing over on the Sonos speaker and then I also have it set where after 1 minute it's going to turn off now with the aara light strip I have here I was able to turn on music syn so then it's able to syn with the music that is playing and after 1 minute it then turns off the lights and pause the music pretty sweet so here is how I have the automation set up so first I chose the lock and here are all the difference you have you can say when it's locked when the door is not locked after it's timed out you can have when it outside is unlocked when Bluetooth unlocked all these different options just really anything you can think of you are able to do with this so down here I have an option to unlock with an assigned password so depending on who unlocks it in the home I could have different things interact with in my smart home which is just so cool then down here here we have then so then I have it set up to play on Sonos now with Sonos you have all these other options you could do previous track next track change the volume and play and so on you can even choose play specific song it keeps playing live versions if you know how to not have it do that let me know then here I have it turn on music sync um I could also set brightness change color code all those different things and then here I have it pause and turn off the light so that's just one routine that I created amongst the other small routine so really really cool now let's see how it interacts with the different Smart Homes so I've already linked aari to Google home so there it added the front door lock so if I tap on it it's giving me the option to add my PIN code to unlock the door once I do that then the door unlocks and there from the app I was able to put in the code and unlock it which is great and then I can simply tap and it will lock the door it be similar by voice hey Google unlock the front door can I have your PIN and there after putting in the pent code it unlocked here with Amazon Alexa we have the front door lock so right now the unlocking is disabled so I can go in here and I can unlock by app and then I can also turn on enable unlock by voice as well and create a pin code so to do this we do need to head back into the accara app and we need to allow for voice assistants to work now let's try that sorry I don't know that one and there the door unlocked and there we can lock it lock the front door and so there we can see the status of the lock there we have the front door it is now locked we can simply tap and if we want to unlock it we can enter our access code and there the door is unlocked and here you can see the other u00 lock is there as well and here for Apple home we're going to pop off the cover and use the setup code now we're going to add this into a room and give it a name and here it is giving us the option for the home key for Brett's home is available in wallet and can be used to unlock doors in this home access codes residents and guests of this home can unlock the door by entering an access code on the keypad and now we can use our home key devices and now it has been added so here we have the front door lock we can go in here and we can quickly lock it just like that and in the home app we can swipe to unlock and then you also have home key how this works is once you get it set up in your Apple wallet all you need to do when the lock is locked is go on your watch open an apple wallet to your home key and tap it against the door and with NFC it is able to unlock that same thing is able to happen with the iPhone now here under Auto loock right now I have remote autol locking on so if I unlock it via Google or Amazon or Apple it will unlock but if I don't open the door for a few seconds it will then automatically lock again so if I accidentally unlock it then it will automatically lock so that's really nice to have as an extra security feature and now let's talk about temporary passwords so here you have the option to create a onetime password or a periodic password so if we go to the onetime password and add there we now have a password that we can simply copy and share it with somebody or take a screenshot and share so here it says it can only be used once before this evening so that's kind of like you want to quickly share this code with somebody so that they have access to get in and that's it they no longer have access so here I have the option to share now and it's going to share an image the other option is to create a periodic password so here we can add a temporary user so here we can just say generate randomly so there it created a code we're going to give it a name and we could call it BNB and so here this code would then be available to be used at certain times during the day and other times it would lock out and there we say have the same option to share so it's going to always work the whole day and every day can be used multiple times with in the set limit and another feature I'm really loving is the logs so here I can go in and see exactly when people have locked and unlocked the device I can see where it was locked and then here I can go to unlocked events and earlier today I can see when people were using the lock so it's really handy to see when people have come and gone now when I installed this I did have to realign my door so it shut more firm but it is a little bit harder to shut for the kids now the good news is is there is an alarm on here so if it doesn't latch all the way it will then alert us saying hey your door is open see how that works say I shut the door and when it tries to shut it will not be able to latch properly and then the speaker on the outside will alarm and you'll be notified in the app and there in the app it's giving me a notice that the dead bolt is abnormal and I need to go shut it shut the door and there it is now locked let's try that from the outside and now I know any need to go properly shut the door and just like that the accara u50 automatically locked I no longer have to walk around at night locking the door now there are so many features that this has but I only highlighted my favorites in this video if you want to see more Full Features as well as how to do some of these things make sure you check out my u00 video right here and if you want to learn more about the aara u50 make sure you check out the link in the description below and if you have any further questions please let me know down in the comments thank you so much for watching we'll see you
