Installing Windows 10 and Activating it with a Product Key
We're going to click I don't have a product key now but if you do already have a product key you want to use to activate go ahead and enter it in that box I'll show you how to do this later on once the OS is installed we're going to use a Windows 10 Pro key so we'll select Windows 10 Pro and we'll click accept for the license terms now this is important be sure to select custom install this will allow you to specify the drive on which windows will be installed in this case again we only have one drive that Samsung and vme we're going to click next and and now we'll let Windows do its thing so after a few minutes of starting up Windows for the first time pull up your product key from earlier swing down to the Windows start tab type activation and click enter select change or add product key and paste your activation code if you're entering it manually triple check that you've typed it correctly then click activate from here windows will work its magic and you should notice your watermark disappear you'll then have a fully activated copy of Windows 10 that you can even upgrade again to Windows 11 if you'd like just keep in mind the OEM Keys like these here lock to the hardware in question so any major platform changes may require a new code for Activation then again I don't know too many folks swapping motherboards on a daily or weekly basis this March Madness sale from VIP ICD key is going on for a limited time so be sure to snag your key before it's too late you can even find other useful software at solid discounts for productivity and the like just click the links Below in the description and remember to choose my offer code gsvip for a huge discount and all right there go installed activated this rig is ready to go
The Rig's Final State
the last thing to do then is just install these two remaining panels This definitely isn't something I should be doing with the system on but I enjoy living on the edge why not look at that just slides on in wow it's just really good build quality here I love this case and I'm actually looking forward to building in another one here soon you just use this included screwdriver to tighten things down these are not Phillips screws by the way I think they're um what are these torques I think they're torques and here is the official test then I've got my backpack this is the one I've actually used for several years in college and it still holds up Swiss made backpack so we're gonna put this computer into this backpack just to prove the point that it will easily fit look at that with room to spare I mean it's smaller than a shoe box if you can fit a shoe box in your backpack you could definitely fit the ghost S1 just remember that if you are actually bringing this on a flight and you're stuffing it in say your backpack um be upfront with TSA about what's in said backpack at a time they're probably gonna ask you to take it out and put it in a separate bin you know only go through the little x-ray scanners whatever they are what are you waiting for uh yeah it's not uh it's not fun when you throw something like a graphics card into a carry-on bag and then get interrogated for about 15 minutes ask me how I know that was not a fun experience so just be careful I think that our neighbor's gonna be super excited I can't wait to show her what this looks like and then she can show her friend as well just how compact this thing is the ghost S1 is an incredible wheel this is the Mark III revision I think and I'm fairly confident it's aluminum it feels like aluminum it's just very well built I hate to say it because I know a lot of you don't like apple the build quality here reminds me a lot of like a new Macbook Pro they just they they feel very similar the Finish is very similar and you can tell it's just a quality product so overall very impressed with the case this isn't necessarily a video about the case but it is the centerpiece I think and one of the main reasons why we're able to keep this so tiny
Conclusion and Final Thoughts
you can find all the parts by the way that went into this in the video description be sure to check those out also a big thanks to our sponsor as well for supporting the channel you can find their Links at the very top let me know what you think about this build and what you would do differently if you had around the same budget say a thousand dollars or so if you enjoyed it give it a thumbs up consider subscribing if you haven't already join our public Discord server consider supporting us on patreon and I will catch you in the next one I cannot believe I just did this in one take wow
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enit's time to build another gaming PC and this one is going to be a bit smaller than the status quo we've built a lot of mid Towers recently and I think if all if all things play out the way that I expect them to this rig should fit into a backpack the entire budget for this rig is around a thousand USD so I think it's actually rather attainable as well considering most small form factor builds cost a bit more because you've got just the the added ITX taxes right most ITX cases are a bit more expensive including the ghost S1 you've got the ITX or the sfx power supply tax usually you're paying a bit more for a higher wattage smaller more compact unit ITX motherboards typically cost as much if not more than their ATX counterparts so there's a lot that we were able to squeeze into this thousand dollar budget I think it's gonna be an awesome gaming PC for the price are you all ready let's get to building if you're looking for a way to rid yourself of that pesky Windows activation Watermark head on over to VIP scvd their March Madness sale has Windows 10 Pro OEM keys at a special discount meaning you'll pay only around 15 to fully activate your OS this will give you access to Windows 11 upgrades as well custom wallpapers and a few other benefits simply click the link in this video's description and select the version of Windows you're currently running this is super important folks then pay with a secure payment method like PayPal when the promo code box pops up enter gsvip again that's gsvip and watch that price Fall by a whopping 30 down to around 15 USD and if you don't want to fiddle with upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 at the start you can always buy a Windows 11 OEM key for around 20 with our code again that's GS VIP by the way we'll discuss how to activate later in the video but don't worry the process is super easy for more great deals at VIP STD key check out the link below so I want to give you just a bit of context to why this build is happening first off My Neighbor Next Door reaches out says she needs something quickly for a friend who will be taking this home with her on an airplane so she's thinking somewhere in the realm of like a you know decent sized carry-on PC the thing is you can actually fit a lot of mid Towers even as carry-ons in the overhead bins of planes I mean it's actually possible I've seen NZXT s340s in overhead bins like it's not difficult to do the problem is it's still I think a bit too large for the average person traveling an average distance so I'm gonna do her one better and put together something that I think is going to be much more portable and much easier to stow away so to speak it's not gonna have to go in the overhead but it'll actually fit in a backpack now she's actually purchased all of these components herself at my recommendation she asked for again something that fit around a thousand dollar budget and I think this makes a ton of sense with new components the only thing she didn't buy was this and that's just because I've had this laying around I think it's the perfect fit 850 Watts more than she's gonna need a good you know wiggle room for upgrades in the future and it's also sfx which is perfect for the ghost S1 I had to buy a core i5 13 400f because I think this is one of the best gaming CPUs for the money sure it's a lock SKU sure it's a lower end core i5 but you're gonna get plenty of course here really great architecture actually decent efficiency as well and yeah it doesn't break the bank as for the graphics card and RX 6600 brand new we didn't want to buy used because well we didn't want to risk the card not working when it arrived and then our friend gets sent home with a system that doesn't work either that's no fun so uh yeah just cutting our losses there this is one of the better value graphics cards still that you can buy today if you can find these for around 200 or below excellent cards for the money the very first thing I'm going to do is unbox this case and see what sort of size constraints we're working with I must confess I do not know very much about the ghost S1 I've never built in a case like this before and I was only referencing the text specs the size constraints like the clearances I'm hoping that everything that we ordered here actually fits if not that's on me I'll take care of it but uh yeah let's see what we're working with you know how you can tell right away if a case is just quality right if it's just built with care built with precision and just an all-around excellent use of space this is one of those cases I don't run into this feeling very often this is very heavy very premium feeling but it's also so compact it comes with I believe a PCI Gen 4 Riser cable I might be wrong about that but it does include a riser cable obviously you're gonna need that just so that you can actually connect your graphics card to your board since they're not going to be in line directly with each other wow this is such a cool feeling here's what the inside looks like we've got our two side panels off and others held in by a few screws you can see there's just I mean just the right amount of space it looks like your power supply is going to go here your motherboard is going to go there you've got your included Riser cable and your graphics card slots in at the rear you also have a bracket it looks like at the bottom here for a two and a half inch Drive of some sort obviously we didn't go with a two and a half inch drive we just have a single 90d Pro in vme here and that was done intentionally just to save a bit of space By the way here is our motherboard this is nothing fancy obviously just a b660 ITX board with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability so I think it's really important for a small form factor but if you're gonna be on the go probably going to be using Wi-Fi at least at some point so having it built in is nice first things first we'll get this platform assembled starting with the CPU which I just realized because the door hinges towards the camera you're not going to see any of this I'm gonna just gonna roll with it they've got our Core i5 13 400f here we're gonna very gently drop into the neat little socket like so I'm going to lower this back down lock it in place and pull this away be sure to save this you never know when you're going to need it then we'll take care of ram I've got two sticks of a low profile silicon power ddr4 here and this is done intentionally because our CPU Cooler is going to overhang these slots we want to make sure we don't have any interference where uh yeah where it's just not desired so slot the first one in nice and easy then we've got our second one and all right looking good so far next up storage and I just love the way Samsung presents these 980 Pro ssds golly this thing looks good m.2 installation is super straightforward no cables or anything to worry about just gonna slide it in there mine the key and then we're going to tighten it down with this one included Phillips screw that you'll find in your motherboards box and that's it drive my OCD crazy the text is upside down but we're not going to see much of this anyway no big deal we've got our mounting gear taken care of for our cooler speaking of this is the ID cooling is-55 black and you can see it is very low profile we've got just enough space there for low profile ddr4 we've got a beautiful cold plate look at that yeah this is a very well put together low profile top flow cooler if you're interested all this by the way will be linked in the video description just gonna add a line of thermal paste here and we'll gently lower the cooler onto the board just to realize we're gonna need to remove this fan before tightening down eight hours later and would you look at that golly I love small form Factory builds these platforms look so sexy got the fan wired up cable hidden now we can install our rear IO Shield let's see how easy this is oh yeah piece of cake with the panels off of this S1 it's very easy to drop the platform in well maybe I spoke a little too soon nope just enough space there the power supply bracket is all right on the edge of this motherboard that's actually awesome it just means again there's no wasted space here and very quickly here would you look at that cooler clearance this is just the perfect size I think for the S1 so uh yeah I didn't screw that up at least when I connected this end of the Riser cable which you want to be very careful about don't snag any of these wires they are a bit fragile slot that all the way in look how cute this thing is it's so small it fits in one hand piece of cake it's just crazy how much power they pack into these small Footprints 850 Watts here in this dagger Pro and it is also fully modular which means you only have to connect what you need to use which in our case is just a 24 pin a splice six plus two pin PCI supplemental power for two eight pins in total or up to that and a single CPU EPS pin actually this cable here I'm kind of annoyed by because it includes two different eight pin connectors from the same like Yeah from the same physical connector itself so we're going to have an extra strand we don't really need nothing I can do about that you want to help data build a PC yeah you want help dada yeah front panel is wired and in goes or sfx unit this uh this is going to be a bit challenging we've actually got more cabling than I'd like I mean we literally only have to go from here to here for the 24 minute and then from here to here for the eight pin um we're yeah we're gonna have to work our cable management magic and we don't have a lot of space here first things first we're going to remove this two and a half inch Drive bracket that uh taking up a bit of space I'm not sure how much this is gonna help us or not golly I can't even pull it out and it's just because these cables are pressed right up against the side here just trade off side effects of going with an ITX rig no big deal but now if you are trained in the art of cable stuffing as am I my friend it shouldn't be an impossible task it'll just make you work a little forward and I don't mind that so there we go most of the cables have been stuffed in uh the only available it's space we have left here and I think clearance is fine the last thing to do then is install the graphics card and that's literally it we will have put together an entire rig and then at that point all we need to do is install Windows this actually was super easy and super quick this is admittedly one of the cheaper 6600 variants on the market but you got to do what you got to do in a budget build I don't see anything wrong with this variant here from azerock I'm just going to carefully slide around in here from above and would you look at that fitment almost like these were made for each other oh yeah really digging it so that is slotted almost all the way in just a bit more there we go and uh yeah look at that I mean we still got space down here if we want to uh cable manage a bit more maybe stuff some extra cabling of course these not being custom cables means we couldn't set the lengths for the dimensions of this case we're going to need one supplemental eight pin to power this card now in hindsight if we had shorter PCI cables we could have routed them underneath this power supply can see that they left a bit of space here to Route cables and then we can make use of this cutout this is about where you would expect a connector on a graphics card to be ours is a little further in because the card itself is much smaller the cooler is what makes it seem like a larger card than it is we'll just tidy some things up here like these covers and here we are what do you think I think it turned out pretty well it's fairly clean again there's like no empty space in this case at all which is the point that's why I went with the S1 it looked very appealing on paper and I really have no complaints the case is is honestly very well built feels very premium and I like the way that all these components fit so nicely in here you should get decent airflow with the side panels on as well since they are perforated they aren't dust filtered however so you might want to clean this thing maybe once a month or once a quarter at the very least just to make sure that it doesn't get super Dusty inside once that happens I expect you'll start seeing some pretty big thermal issues but for now we're about ready to power the system on for the first time and install Windows I'm going to leave the panels off for this first post just in case we need to change anything make sure that your power supply is switched on because once the panels are on you're not going to be able to get to it front power button okay looks good all the fans are spinning except for the power supply that's not under heavy load that makes sense and we're just looking for a post here yes okay there it is so let's go ahead and connect our Windows USB a bootable media tool and if you're curious how to do that we'll have a link in the description about how to install Windows 10. once it is installed we'll go ahead and activate it and also take this chance to confirm everything is connected and also enable XMP and now we'll connect our bootable USB we'll go ahead and click next and then install and then this will give us a chance to select which drive if we had multiple drives we want to install the windows volume onto we're going to click I don't have a product key now but if you do already have a product key you want to use to activate go ahead and enter it in that box I'll show you how to do this later on once the OS is installed we're going to use a Windows 10 Pro key so we'll select Windows 10 Pro and we'll click accept for the license terms now this is important be sure to select custom install this will allow you to specify the drive on which windows will be installed in this case again we only have one drive that Samsung and vme we're going to click next and and now we'll let Windows do its thing so after a few minutes of starting up Windows for the first time pull up your product key from earlier swing down to the Windows start tab type activation and click enter select change or add product key and paste your activation code if you're entering it manually triple check that you've typed it correctly then click activate from here windows will work its magic and you should notice your watermark disappear you'll then have a fully activated copy of Windows 10 that you can even upgrade again to Windows 11 if you'd like just keep in mind the OEM Keys like these here lock to the hardware in question so any major platform changes may require a new code for Activation then again I don't know too many folks swapping motherboards on a daily or weekly basis this March Madness sale from VIP ICD key is going on for a limited time so be sure to snag your key before it's too late you can even find other useful software at solid discounts for productivity and the like just click the links Below in the description and remember to choose my offer code gsvip for a huge discount and all right there go installed activated this rig is ready to go the last thing to do then is just install these two remaining panels This definitely isn't something I should be doing with the system on but I enjoy living on the edge why not look at that just slides on in wow it's just really good build quality here I love this case and I'm actually looking forward to building in another one here soon you just use this included screwdriver to tighten things down these are not Phillips screws by the way I think they're um what are these torques I think they're torques and here is the official test then I've got my backpack this is the one I've actually used for several years in college and it still holds up Swiss made backpack so we're gonna put this computer into this backpack just to prove the point that it will easily fit look at that with room to spare I mean it's smaller than a shoe box if you can fit a shoe box in your backpack you could definitely fit the ghost S1 just remember that if you are actually bringing this on a flight and you're stuffing it in say your backpack um be upfront with TSA about what's in said backpack at a time they're probably gonna ask you to take it out and put it in a separate bin you know only go through the little x-ray scanners whatever they are what are you waiting for uh yeah it's not uh it's not fun when you throw something like a graphics card into a carry-on bag and then get interrogated for about 15 minutes ask me how I know that was not a fun experience so just be careful I think that our neighbor's gonna be super excited I can't wait to show her what this looks like and then she can show her friend as well just how compact this thing is the ghost S1 is an incredible wheel this is the Mark III revision I think and I'm fairly confident it's aluminum it feels like aluminum it's just very well built I hate to say it because I know a lot of you don't like apple the build quality here reminds me a lot of like a new Macbook Pro they just they they feel very similar the Finish is very similar and you can tell it's just a quality product so overall very make sure that it doesn't get super Dusty inside once that happens I expect you'll start seeing some pretty big thermal issues but for now we're about ready to power the system on for the first time and install Windows I'm going to leave the panels off for this first post just in case we need to change anything make sure that your power supply is switched on because once the panels are on you're not going to be able to get to it front power button okay looks good all the fans are spinning except for the power supply that's not under heavy load that makes sense and we're just looking for a post here yes okay there it is so let's go ahead and connect our Windows USB a bootable media tool and if you're curious how to do that we'll have a link in the description about how to install Windows 10. once it is installed we'll go ahead and activate it and also take this chance to confirm everything is connected and also enable XMP and now we'll connect our bootable USB we'll go ahead and click next and then install and then this will give us a chance to select which drive if we had multiple drives we want to install the windows volume onto we're going to click I don't have a product key now but if you do already have a product key you want to use to activate go ahead and enter it in that box I'll show you how to do this later on once the OS is installed we're going to use a Windows 10 Pro key so we'll select Windows 10 Pro and we'll click accept for the license terms now this is important be sure to select custom install this will allow you to specify the drive on which windows will be installed in this case again we only have one drive that Samsung and vme we're going to click next and and now we'll let Windows do its thing so after a few minutes of starting up Windows for the first time pull up your product key from earlier swing down to the Windows start tab type activation and click enter select change or add product key and paste your activation code if you're entering it manually triple check that you've typed it correctly then click activate from here windows will work its magic and you should notice your watermark disappear you'll then have a fully activated copy of Windows 10 that you can even upgrade again to Windows 11 if you'd like just keep in mind the OEM Keys like these here lock to the hardware in question so any major platform changes may require a new code for Activation then again I don't know too many folks swapping motherboards on a daily or weekly basis this March Madness sale from VIP ICD key is going on for a limited time so be sure to snag your key before it's too late you can even find other useful software at solid discounts for productivity and the like just click the links Below in the description and remember to choose my offer code gsvip for a huge discount and all right there go installed activated this rig is ready to go the last thing to do then is just install these two remaining panels This definitely isn't something I should be doing with the system on but I enjoy living on the edge why not look at that just slides on in wow it's just really good build quality here I love this case and I'm actually looking forward to building in another one here soon you just use this included screwdriver to tighten things down these are not Phillips screws by the way I think they're um what are these torques I think they're torques and here is the official test then I've got my backpack this is the one I've actually used for several years in college and it still holds up Swiss made backpack so we're gonna put this computer into this backpack just to prove the point that it will easily fit look at that with room to spare I mean it's smaller than a shoe box if you can fit a shoe box in your backpack you could definitely fit the ghost S1 just remember that if you are actually bringing this on a flight and you're stuffing it in say your backpack um be upfront with TSA about what's in said backpack at a time they're probably gonna ask you to take it out and put it in a separate bin you know only go through the little x-ray scanners whatever they are what are you waiting for uh yeah it's not uh it's not fun when you throw something like a graphics card into a carry-on bag and then get interrogated for about 15 minutes ask me how I know that was not a fun experience so just be careful I think that our neighbor's gonna be super excited I can't wait to show her what this looks like and then she can show her friend as well just how compact this thing is the ghost S1 is an incredible wheel this is the Mark III revision I think and I'm fairly confident it's aluminum it feels like aluminum it's just very well built I hate to say it because I know a lot of you don't like apple the build quality here reminds me a lot of like a new Macbook Pro they just they they feel very similar the Finish is very similar and you can tell it's just a quality product so overall very impressed with the case this isn't necessarily a video about the case but it is the centerpiece I think and one of the main reasons why we're able to keep this so tiny you can find all the parts by the way that went into this in the video description be sure to check those out also a big thanks to our sponsor as well for supporting the channel you can find their Links at the very top let me know what you think about this build and what you would do differently if you had around the same budget say a thousand dollars or so if you enjoyed it give it a thumbs up consider subscribing if you haven't already join our public Discord server consider supporting us on patreon and I will catch you in the next one I cannot believe I just did this in one take wow I'm Gonna Roll right now my name is Greg thanks for learning with me\n"
