What's Up Guys: A System Build Showcase
This is just a quick little video showcasing a system build I recently did for Fractal Design. There's actually a promo video I did featuring their new Define Our Black Out case, which I believe that video is on their Facebook page right now. If you have a moment, go ahead and feel free to check it out now. Since the Definer for Black Out is an all-black case as the name might suggest, I decided to go with an all-black themed system for the video that I did for them. I also decided to film the whole thing so that I could actually cut it together and do a time-lapse build for you guys, so that's what you're gonna be seeing in just a bit.
Before I go over all the parts that I used for the system, I want to point out that I chose all this hardware strictly based on their appearance and their ability to be black for this all-black system. In no way shape or form am I actually recommending this combination of parts for anybody who's looking to build a system in the future. This is simply just based on aesthetics, so please bear that in mind.
Starting off, we've got an Intel Core i7-4900K processor, which is a great example of what you can do with a high-performance CPU from a few years ago. If anyone was looking for a cat, I've got one for sale right now for the very low-low price of free. Moving on to the motherboard of choice, the Asus Rampage 4 Black Edition, appropriately enough, we got eight gigs that's two 4-gig sticks of Kingston HyperX Beast memory at 2400 megahertz.
The graphics card is the XFX R9 280, which might not be the most powerful card on the market anymore but it's still a great example of what you can do with a mid-range GPU from a few years ago. I actually removed the stock fan that it comes with and replaced it with an old H100 Corsair fan simply because the eTST 40 fan is blue, and the Corsair fan is black, and we're going for black.
We also have a Kingston HyperX 3K SSD in this system, which is a 240GB drive. We've got a Fractal Design Newton R3 800W power supply, which should be more than enough to handle even the most powerful build. And finally, of course, we've got the Fractal Design Define R4 Black Out case, which is literally black from head to toe.
Now that I've shown you guys all the hardware for the system, I'm gonna show you a little bit of time-lapse action. I do a lot of time-lapse builds on this channel, so I kind of wanted to freshen things up and thought to myself, what could I do differently with the time-lapse? So, I thought why don't I do it backwards?
Thanks for watching guys, feel free to toss me a like if you enjoyed the video and subscribe to the channel for more awesome sauce. I'll see you in the next one!
