TCL S405 4K TV - Unboxing

hey there today we're checking out the TCL s 405 series this replaces the u P series from last year and though it's just the second rung on TCL's 4k TV ladder it still got some premium features like HDR and full Roku os interface.

let's have a look at what comes in the box with the TV everything is located up top and a styrofoam cap so it's super easy to access the two lightweight plastic stands that come with the TV have arrows showing which direction you want to mount them in they'll be slightly angled out towards the edge of the TV at the front and after that is just a couple of screws to get them secured.

at just 25 pounds you might be tempted to lift this TV yourself but I always recommend get a friend it's just safer that way now that we've got it up on the stand it feels pretty stable we're almost there let's just make sure we remove this plastic from the bezel we've got a relatively trim glossy black bezel which is offset slightly by the anti-reflective coating on the screen.

this bump out around the back makes a total depth of about three inches so when you bomb out this TV it's going to look pretty tight against the wall the 49 inch model we have here has a stand width of just over thirty four and a half inches and will go down from there for smaller sized TVs.

the S 409 is equipped with three HDMI 2.0 inputs ready for 4k gaming and 4k blu-ray discs one HDMI AARC output on the first one and interestingly we've got physical RCA jacks for our composite and component inputs outside of that everything here is pretty standard once the TV is powered on and connected to the internet you're gonna have to sit through a few updates.

link your Roku account and add some apps but once you've got that done I think you're gonna love roku OS all of your connected components live right alongside streaming apps so you can switch from your cable box to amazon in a flash.

the remote has simple cursor operation with four hotkeys for various different streaming services one thing it does miss though is the headphone jack.

you can still listen wirelessly though if you use the roku mobile app on your phone or tablet while the s4 ovine may not be TCS highest tier TV it is certainly one of its most valued packed to learn more be sure to check out our full review
