Let's Take a Look at the Anker Power Comp 200 and iPhone Recording Quality
I'm going to take the brightness down just a tad and take the contrast up just a little bit alrighty now that's looking really good. Let's put this full screen so I'm very interested to see the difference between what you're seeing on this screen here. So, I'll flip between them every once in a while so you can see the exact same scene. I might put them side by side in the edit, but I'm not exactly sure and one thing you can do here is you can also guess do a bit of a frame offset okay, so you can actually adjust the frame left and right and you can also zoom in and out with this little slider that's actually pretty nice. We'll go ahead and leave it let's actually bring it out just a little bit more, it's nice that you're not sort of restricted to those very specific degrees, uh you can actually go ahead and zoom it out like that.
I do notice there is a little bit more blowout with this compared to what I have in my phone but I'll tell you what the quality is looking awesome so far. Let's take a look um let me bring the brightness down just a tad see if we can stop it from blowing out so one of the things I want to now do is switch over to OBS and actually use that to record my voice all right, so now we are using OBS here, yes that is much wider than what okay, so we are getting a 2K signal in if you can see, I'm going to actually bring it down to 1080. In the screen here, so now we're recording at 1080 which matches what my phone is recording and so I should be able to switch back and forth between them all right.
So now I have turned on the audio for the power comp as well as recording with my mobile mic on my phone so I will switch between them so this is an audio test, this is uh not raw audio, I will edit them both the exact same way with the same equalizer same adjustments. So this is the mobile mic that I'm using right now and what I'll do is go ahead and switch between the two different microphones and I'll put up on the screen exactly what microphone that I'm using at the time that I'm using it, that way you'll get an idea of the difference of what I normally use which is the iPhone here with the mobile microphone and then switching back over to the power comp microphone which is not facing towards my face currently but it is kind of pointing down here at the desk, so that'll give you an idea of how this sounds.
Pounds one two three four five six seven eight test test one two three four five six seven eight test test all right. So with that said here's the difference between both of the screens, you have the power comp 200 recording at I have it coming in at 2K from the software and I'm scaling it down to 1080p in OBS and recording, and then my phone is recording at 1080p at 30 frames per second so we can take a look at each one of those differently. So yeah, I'm pretty impressed so far, I will actually have to look at it in post look at it in editing to see exactly how it looks.
So again this is a test of the Anker Power Comp 200 uh it's a 2K HD webcam, I picked it up and honestly I picked this up for about 50 bucks, I mean you cannot beat that quality that I'm seeing right here on the screen for 50 bucks. I haven't seen anything come close to that so if you're interested, I will leave the link down below uh hopefully this has the opportunity to kind of let you see the difference between using my iPhone 14 and using the Anker power comp but hopefully this is going to be my new setup from from now on.
If this helped you make any sort of decision or if you like this video give me a thumbs up down below, give me a like I'd love to hear some comments if you have this uh please feel free to subscribe basically just the guy trying some things out if they're good they're good we'll we'll come to that conclusion together if they're bad they're bad we'll come to that conclusion too. So love to see you around but until then this is Carl from technical goodies and I'm out
WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enI'll tell you what if you're like me I am not in the mood to spend 500 800 1200 1500 2 000 on a camera to film with it's just an outlandish price and I'd love to have one of those cameras but I don't so what I actually use right now is my iPhone 14. that's what you're looking through right now but I'd like to replace that I'd like to have something that works as a webcam and will work for me to film my YouTube videos and we might have a contender and why do I say might because I haven't tried it yet but I have read a lot of reviews and I've looked at a lot of different footage online and I'm hopeful what's up everybody this is Carl from technical goodies and today we're looking at the Anker power comp c200 so this is a 2K HD webcam that is supposed to be extremely impressive uh it has stunning 2K HD resolution automatic light compensation built in privacy cover adjustable fov from 65 to 95 degrees true to life Visual and an AI stereo mic alright so the question that we're going to figure out today is can I use this to film not only my videos here on YouTube or and can it work for streaming and how well does it look I'd like to do some side-by-side comparisons maybe some real-time comparisons between the two let's give her a try let's open it up alrighty so inside we have the instruction manual we have this little box thing here one of the things to note about this is that you can download the anchor work software which I've already put onto my computer for this test and you're supposed to be able to use it to adjust all the different settings one thing I like about using the iPhone here I'm using protake I can change the white balance I can change this the shutter speed I can change all sorts of the different Pro settings in order to match exactly how I want it to look so hopefully it'll be something similar with their software uh instruction manual here set that aside a nice long cord and the webcam itself so let's take it out this little on plastic so here's the webcam itself you can see that it has a little self-closing uh privacy Shield here I guess this is this in the front open closed open closed has a basic standard hook onto your monitor type stand here so that basically hooks onto your monitor and this gives a little bit of tension to it so I'll probably be able to use this here in a minute and it also has a standard tripod screw on the bottom if you want to be able to use it on the tripod that's one thing that I like for example if I'm using it in this orientation pointing down at my desk I can use a tripod for that it's got a nice little long cable here looks like it is a USB a to a USB C which is nice so let's go ahead and plug it in and see how she works I'm pretty excited see alrighty plug it into the back here with the USBC all right it's plugged in now so let me go ahead and oh the uh anchor Works software automatically opens up all right so we're going to go ahead and start with just standard screen recording okay so now I am hooked up here this is the standard screen recording using OBS and this is the anchor work software the reason I'm doing this is because I want to be able to show you exactly how to adjust it and that actually looks pretty good I mean look how look how sharp it gets there to be able to read that text so let's see if I can hook it up here where I normally film from whether or not I can successfully get this to stay okay so there we go now I successfully have both my phone and the anchor uh Power comp recording so here's my hand here's all the stuff on my desk and I'm recording on the screen you're not actually seeing the raw footage but let's go ahead and see what kind of settings we have here so right now it's pulling in 2K I can switch between 95 degrees 78 degrees and 65 degrees so let's Zoom that in a little bit all right there we go let's go ahead and take this off so you can actually see some of the text down here is a little blurred out you know some of the stuff might be a little washed out or let's do 78 degree degree angle that looks pretty close to what I'm typically using on my desk so let's jump out down here to some of the settings Okay so we've got brightness sharpness saturation and contrast radio ratio and an auto white balance so let's turn that off and then white balance I want it to be let's see here a little bit more colorful so I'll put it over there I usually do it right around 5000 on my phone autofocus I'll leave on that way I can come up close to something and it should focus on it let's see yep there we go now it's focusing on this if I hold it about there put it back down here and it'll focus back out to the table yep that's what I want um let's take a look at the other settings here so sharpness brightness let's take the brightness down just a tad and take the contrast up just a little bit alrighty now that's looking really good let's put this full screen so I'm
