them against another competitor now if you're juicing the title of video you know we're gonna be jumping into but a little bit of minor backstory here as soon as Apple released air pause the original ones and then in the air project wireless charging case and the air pods Pro competition has increased like crazy we have seen iteration on iteration from manufacturers we have seen everyone jumping into the party with the Galaxy buds at both second and first generation of those which judging by our past content there's not a lot of demand for those out there we've also seen other players including Google come out with the pixel buds which don't worry we will have some content on those very soon we have the pixel buds out there Microsoft is jumping into the party with its very different looking surface buds so we'll cover those they were kind of delayed from 2019 into 2020 sometime recent FCC leagues say they should be releasing soon but regardless there are a lot of head phones out there in this video we are going to part down to one of the ones that has said up hold up the best kind of in the wake of all this competition which is Jabra so these are the brand-new Jabra elite active 75t we got our first look at these guys earlier this year at CES and we were really excited to finally actually get them into our studio to play around with because they were some really great headphones so a very small case obviously comparable to ear pods in terms of size the air pods Pro from outside they're wireless charging case here but let's go ahead and jump into the job really active 75t and compare these guys to our beloved air pods Pro the first metric you want to look at is power and connectivity there and both of these guys do a good job but air pods have been knocked for their lack of excellent battery life it is not bad by any means but not excellent and excellent is where I would rate the new chopper elite active 75t you can get seven and a half hours we got a bit but above seven hours and our testing with these guys but they're rated for seven and a half hours whereas earpods Pro are only rated for four and a half hours then you can stretch that to five hours if you turn off the transparency mode and you turn off active noise-cancelling but still five hours versus over seven hours definitely a win here and if you count the better life in the charging case you're going to get a total of twenty eight hours on the job rally 75t active 75 t versus only 24 hours on air pods so you're gonna get pretty similar battle up over a span of time but if you're leaving just the best battery life in general these guys both on single chart as well as total time Jabra is a clear winner now these guys charge differently the job res they only charge over USBC which is great because we love you SBC we love to see third party stuff grabbing onto us BC and going forward with that the air pods use lightning we have no problem with lightning on here we have lightning cables out the wazoo around here so not an issue but what's better is why was charging the air pods Pro and the second generation if air pods can both charge wirelessly so we do prefer that just so easy to set these down tossing down on our desk begin charging that I'm going to think about it and they're having ever to really worry about that battery life unless you're leaving for an entire weekend without being able to charge and you need to get every ounce of power out of these that you can so wireless power even though the battery life is short on here why are our really makes it a little bit less of an issue now these guys are both bluetooth Jabra has some nice features here including multi connect you can connect up to eight devices be paired with this two devices simultaneously to get audio from both of those so really nice kind of multi connect feature here Apple doesn't quite have multi connect they have this iCloud syncing essentially which does make it easy to pair multiple devices so you can connect everything for your iCloud so you sign into iCloud you connect these to your phone and boom these things are across all of your devices your Apple TV Apple watch iPhone iPad your Mac they just all show up automatically thinks that iCloud sync so a really great feature to bring these to all of your devices one of the kind of little things that Apple does that separates them out from third-party vendors just because they have control over hardware and software gives them that little bit of a competitive advantage now they both kicked over Bluetooth obviously they're both true wireless earbuds but wear ear pods differ is they're using Apple's own h1 chip so while the jabbers have a seller 33 feet range here it's nothing compared to the about hundred foot range we can get with our air box Pro Apple's using Bluetooth clasp on audio which had a lot of advantages ego does suck power down a little bit more so you're gonna get much better range with the air box Pro than with the Jabra elite active 75t one thing Apple particularly has going for it with the air pods Pro which are the more expensive the two is noise cancelling so these do have active noise canceling built-in so it listens that outside cancels out that noise before it gets into your ear not only that but Apple does adaptive tuning so it basically has adaptive EQ that adjust the audio inside of your ear so that sounds correct so it kinds of tunes it to each individual year in each individual setting and also make sure that that outside noise is being cancelled out property now the Jabra is on the other hand they do not have active noise canceling they're going with passive noise canceling just with those silicone gels that seal your ear and actually they do a really good job we test these quite a bit and it wasn't a huge deal we obviously haven't flown inside of pandemic world right now but we have test them around a lot of that outside noise does get cut out I'm sure on a plane it might up night might not be as effective as air pods but we really don't have any complaints as far as how good the passive noise cancelling is on the Jabra side of things as far as EQ goes they do have an accompanying app that makes it really nice you can actually adjust the EQ manually so there are preset modes that you can go through that give you the impression size based on type of music listening to or you can just tune it yourself manually so a lot a little bit more control so Apple does it automatically for your ear but here you can actually go ahead and choose you know bass boost or something like that just to your preference of what you want here not just what Jabra thinks that you want to hear now Apple over here they do have support for Siri you can control Siri just by using your voice including controlling the air pods themselves such as volume and media playback on the Jabra side they do have a support for Siri but they also have support for amps on Alexa and Google assistant so you have the trio of assistance over here completely device agnostic so if you are an Android or an iPhone it does not matter you can use both these with either you know platform but these play a lot better with all the platforms whereas earpods play best with iPhones and Apple products now both of these buds are designed to be active war so what does that mean well the biggest thing is probably going to be resistant to water and sweat as well as dust so the Jabra is supporting an IP 57 reading which is pretty impressive so it'll hold out a lot of solids any dustin to pre getting in there and it can be submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes whereas air pods have an IP x4 rating which means they can withstand splashes of water from any angle but aren't really rated against dust so between the two definitely Jabra has the better resistance rating that said we've been working on using our air pods since they came out and we have never had an issue with any debris ingress or water damage them or sweat damaged in any way we ran in the rain not been an issue here but if you're looking for again the best of the two these have a higher rating than the air pods Pro there are other minor differences between these guys these do have more physical kind of buttons on the outside whereas the air pods reason those force stems to control playback air pods have great features such as a live listen for accessibility feature we have things like the iCloud sync that we've already mentioned they both do auto pause as the removed from your ear they'll both pause the music automatically Jabra is have that multi connect feature that we really love the app that companies them is really nice allows you to really easily do firmware updates for these guys not to mention Jabra is offering - your warranty with theirs we're as Apple 6 with the industry standard one-year so when it kind of now - probably for a lot of people is going to be audio quality if none of those features did it for you and when it comes to audio quality we don't have a firm firm answer honestly I think the jobbers have a bit more base they have bit more punch to them but the air pods feel more true they feel a little bit more maybe part back the volume isn't quite as loud but these sound may be better in terms of just overall sound so it punch here a little bit more bass which is gonna be good for those workouts who really need some you have to up Tunes to go with you I don't know it's really any preference thing because if you're looking for just kind of true audio apples kind of just sticking things with true down the barrel not kind of pushing the batteries in either situation jobbers get a little bit louder a little bit more punchy but they may not sound as true but again you can tune these to your own ear so it really goes back and forth on which one we actually prefer just because we have so many Apple products it doesn't make more sense to go with ear pods they already $50 premium over the Jabra elite active 75t these are a little bit more expensive than the standard ear pod to go with regular ear pods these of course don't have noise cancelling I'll say I think these might be a better deal than regular air pods you're getting you know a good better battery life you're getting the better water resistance they are seal better in your ear and a regular air pattern really great for working out we've never had luck with them they fall out all the time if you're on a bench or just running around so these might be better for regular ear pods if you get the wireless charge in case they're the same price as these at $1.99 but it's really gonna be a preference game for you guys
