SoundPEATS Air4 Lite Review - Great Value For $40!

Using Sound Pet Air4 Light Earbuds: A Review

If you want to boost your treble and highs, these earbuds are great because they allow you to do so without any issues. The app is also very useful as it allows you to reset the earbuds if needed, and it also pushes out firmware updates for them. This shows that Sound Pet takes care of its products and ensures they receive necessary updates.

The gaming mode in these earbuds helps reduce latency, which can be an issue with Bluetooth audio. However, when using this mode, I noticed a slight delay, but not one that would affect video streaming or lower quality audio files. The sound quality is also excellent, especially considering the price point of around $40.

One of the standout features of these earbuds is their ambient noise reduction. In a real-world test in Berlin, I was surprised by how well they blocked out background noise, making it possible to focus on conversations without much effort. However, this feature may make you sound slightly smaller than usual due to its effectiveness at canceling out external sounds.

The comfort of these earbuds is also noteworthy. Unlike traditional in-ear Canal earphones that can cause pressure build-up, Sound Pet Air4 Light Earbuds are very comfortable and don't put too much pressure on your ears. This allows you to wear them for longer periods without feeling fatigued or experiencing discomfort.

In terms of usability, the earbuds performed well even in noisy environments like train stations, airports, or flights. I didn't experience any disconnections while using these earbuds, and they handled voice calls smoothly. The sound quality is excellent, especially when paired with high-quality files such as 24-bit FLACs.

The trade-off with these earbuds is their battery life, which will be significantly shorter than what you get from SBC-only audio streaming. However, for those who need high-quality audio and are willing to sacrifice some battery life, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. The sound quality delivered by these earbuds is superior to that of Apple's AirPods, and the additional features like ALAC support make them a worthwhile investment.

In conclusion, Sound Pet Air4 Light Earbuds offer an excellent listening experience at an affordable price point. Their features, such as ambient noise reduction and high-quality audio output, make them an attractive option for music enthusiasts and professionals alike. While there is a trade-off in terms of battery life, the benefits of these earbuds make them well worth considering for those seeking high-quality audio and comfort.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthese are the soundpeats air4 lites they're like the air fours but they don't have the active noise  cancellation but we still have the 13 mm drivers and alac support yes they do support the AL codec  and they are high RAR wireless audio certified now on a single charge if you're just using the  SBC codec they'll go for up to 7 hours 30 hours in total with the case and on a single charge if  you use alac for the higher quality audio takes a bit of a hit on the battery like of course and  the runtime then is about 4 and2 hours now the microphones they do have six in total and we get  AI noise cancellation with those mics I'll be giving you a real world sample in this review  here of them and I'll give you my full pros and cons here of using the air4 lights and testing  them out in Berlin when I went over there for EPA 2023 and here's what you find in the box we have  of course the F4 lights there's a user guide in various different languages and this little card  here which is an introduction to the sound Pets app so these are very light really comfortable  with the half an a style and the weight of them is just 3 G the total travel weight with our  case is 38 G so the case is very similar to the air4 but it's a glossy black instead of a matte  black now I prefer the matte black because it doesn't show the fingerprints now we do have a  multi-point mode used with this button here that's also to reset them and they fit inside there're  really nice and there's magnets that hold them and keep them in place so if you close the lid  here that is close with the magnet it's not going to Rattle around if I give it a shake my little  rattle test you occasionally hear a little bit of noise but under normal circumstances having  this in my pocket I have not heard them rattling around like some keys in my pocket which would  be a little bit annoying so charge time is around about 2 hours for the case and the headphones and  you're looking at a up to 7 hours of run time on a single charge not using alac by the way  and then 30 hours in total with this case so the case quality is nice very good finish to it and  we have the sound pets branding on the back of it then now half in a style so they have three  microphones in total we have ai noise cancelling with the voice calls but there's no active noise  cancelling with these themselves capactive touch controls on the back surface here they do tend to  work quite well I haven't really had any issues with the controls they work about 9 out of 10  times which is pretty standard for the capacitive style charging contact points there right at the  bottom with the lower mic and the stem style makes the fit of these quite comfortable and  you can see they are labeled they either left or right and we have this little mesh that goes  over the front here now inside within this we have a 13 mm Dynamic Drive I'll get onto that  sound quality soon and they are high rares audio wireless certified we have the alac codec now the  alac codec it's pretty straightforward and I think most people know this but it depends on  the quality of the music you're going to listen to to get the benefits if you're just listening  to YouTube podcasts or lowquality MP3 files we're not going to hear the difference but if  you're listening to uh lossless Flack files High bit rate you will hear it with alac so by default  they'll be using a standard codec SBC and as I mentioned before I recommend this if you're just  listenting to lower quality there's no point using Al which it does support now to do this it's going  to power on and then back on again it's now in the high quality so with alac if you're listening to  lossless audio files super high quality Sy some fle files with a really good bit rate this is the  only reason to listen to that and you will hear it with the midst to highs certainly will not so  much the lows you're not going to really pick up on that but for me it's the details the christas  of the highs really opens up you don't hear that compression you normally get when you use alac but  there is a big trade-off battery life is severely hit and I'm talking about well 40% less or so I'd  be lucky to get 4 hours on a single charge out of these using the alac codec so for most users if  you're just watching something on Netflix then I would recommend turning it off and just keep with  the standard codec which is fine for those kind of needs for your podcasts streaming all that  kind of stuff and those old MP3s you have that are only 96 or 128 kilobits per second there's  no point using alac but using it now Al de with a 24bit file here a flack f with a real high bit  rate it does open up those highs as I was talking about and the mids things just seem to my ears to  be a little clearer a little less compression not everyone's going to be able to hear this  and it does depend a little bit on the genre of music I found that rock tracks especially  I would hear the highs and the mids coming through more just clearer and better using alac versus the  SBC codec now the tune out of the box with these they're not base heavy I always find this half in  air style to be a little lacking in Bas but with a 13 mm driver they're not bad with the base but  I feel that sound pets this time around has toned them down a little mids are good Highs are good  they're detailed and that alac support all for this price point including the top volume all  checks out very good for around the $40 40 Mark I think you can't go wrong with these if this is  the style you're after this is the application now from sound piz and it's straightforward I  like it I like its Simplicity I don't think it needs to be over the top so you can see right  here on first glance your battery life of each of the different earbuds there our iners or half  iners you can go over here into customization with our equalizer now I've just left it on the  sound Pet's classic that is what they always have by default so that's I'm reviewing it now we've  got game mode here you have the disabled all functions of the touch keys if you don't like  them you accidentally trigger them and you've got this option which is good a dual device connection  too as well you need to turn that on if you're going to be using it adaptive equalizer you can  go on that and you can adjust the volume from it now there is also custom equalizer that a lot of  people might like so if you just tap there you can go along and tweak that tweak up the bands  however you like you like a little bit more bass so hey let's just increase that a little bit I  think this sounds better to my ears like this increase up your treble your highs if you want  to so that's good and you can save that so it is an app that I think is good because it does  the job now there are firmware updates for them too as well so if they come through they'll push  them out you're able to reset them too using the app you see the option is right there so it's got  all that we kind of need I feel in an application why does it need to be over complicated no they've  kept things here quite simple and I like this I hope they stay this way and how about latency  with them is it an issue does the audio lag behind the visuals here the this is an episode of Vikings  Valhalla and everything is in time here I can happily say using the gaming mode now if I did  decide to game on it that is when I do notice a fraction of a delay that does happen with these  and it's pretty typical for Bluetooth audio it's just with gaming I really noticed the latency  otherwise with streaming video it's not a problem with these especially if you use that gaming mode  my example now and this is a real world test in Berlin I've got a lot of around me and I am  surprised at how well the ambient noise reduction with these mics is it blocks out all of the noise  you can barely hear any of it coming through but as a result I do sometimes feel that I sound a  bit tiny but without the noise cancellation removing the background noise you probably  couldn't even understand me at all because it's really loud all the background public noise  public places and I think it's doing a very good job here just a little tiny sounding that's allthe reason why you buy this St is for their comfort so very comfortable there's nothing  inside your air Canal you don't get that pressure buil up and I can wear these a lot longer than I  could in ears so I was in a Bluetooth noisy environment too as well on the plane in the  airport no disconnections with these no problems at all and from that mic sample I gave you when  you are somewhere that has a lot of people around a lot of ambient noise like train  stations airports on a flight or something like that not that you'd be placing voice calls on  a flight but perhaps when you're sitting in the plane before it takes off and you can still make  a call or something and handle it well it can do it there with those mics removing all that  background noise the only trade-off is as you heard my voice sounds a little artificial tiny  a tiny bit with the microphones now the sound quality from the 13 mm drivers out of them I  think is very good the base isn't straight out of the box with the sound piz classic uh really  super powerful but you can tweak it It Up With The Equalizer I feel the sound quality you get  out of these and the alac support is excellent considering the price tag these do sale for it's  around about $40 you're looking around the 40 EUR Mark and it's well worth it at this price  point to have all of these features and I feel these are certainly a lot better than the airpods  that you will get from Apple I think these are superior you're getting that Superior codec to  as well the trade-off is however the battery life will be almost half of what you get just  using SBC and for a lot of people SBC is fine of course if you're just watching uh Netflix or  YouTube or something like that or lower quality MP3s I would not bother but if you're someone  that has high quality Flack files 24bit then you will hear the difference using alac with  these so say thank you so much for watching my review here of the sound pet air4 lights\n"
