Wago's First Drive With the K Swap!

Working on Wakko and the Honda Project

Before we dive into working on Wakko today, I want to take a quick look back at our recent project with the Honda over at Emilio's. As you can probably guess, it was quite the adventure. We finally got the Honda all put back together after it broke fourth gear, but things took a turn for the worse when Amelia drove it back and forth, putting excessive wear on the clutch. It was a close call, and we're lucky that it didn't end in disaster.

We've been working on getting the Honda back up and running, and while we made some great progress, we also realized that we might have hurt the clutch in the process. We're not sure if it's salvageable yet, but we'll be taking a closer look at it tomorrow when I head back to Emilio's shop. In the meantime, we've been holding off on making another video about our Honda project because of the issues we encountered.

However, that's not all - we also have some exciting news! Aaron, one of our friends and fellow car enthusiast, has come to visit us at Wago for the past few days. He even helped out with the Honda project, which was a huge help. We're big fans of Aaron's work, and it's great to have him on board.

Now that we've got the Honda situation under control, let's move on to working on Wakko. As you can probably tell, Wakko has been a bit of a challenge lately. We're determined to get her ready for winter so that we can hit the snow-covered roads and drift around like pros. The problem is, Wakko needs some TLC before she's ready to take on the elements.

To start with, we need to get the alternator installed. It's one of the most important things on a car, especially when it comes to keeping the battery charged. We've been holding off on installing the alternator because we're not sure if it's going to fit properly in Wakko's engine compartment. However, after some tinkering and adjustments, we think we've finally got it sorted out.

Next up, we need to get some traction bars installed. These are crucial for keeping control of the car, especially when cornering or driving on uneven terrain. Without them, Wakko can be a bit unpredictable - which is not exactly what we're looking for. We're hoping that with the new traction bars, Wakko will become much more stable and easier to handle.

Of course, there's still plenty more work to be done before Wakko is ready for winter. We need to get the throttle cable hooked up, replace the oil filter, and do a whole lot of other little things. But with Aaron's help and our own determination, we're confident that we can get Wakko back in shape.

As I mentioned earlier, we've also picked up another car - a stock Prelude - which might come in handy for some of the last races of the season. We'll be taking it to the track to test its mettle and see if we can still compete at a high level. It's always exciting to get back behind the wheel of our own cars, especially when there's so much on the line.

In conclusion, that's where we stand with Wakko and the Honda project for now. We've got some work ahead of us, but with Aaron's help and our own expertise, we're confident that we can get Wakko back in shape and ready for whatever winter throws our way. Stay tuned for more updates from Wago!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's going on guys today we are gonna be working on Wakko but before we get into that the last couple days we were working on the Honda over at Emilio's and I'm not gonna say too much but we did end up getting the Honda all the way back together after he broke fourth gear we got the motor put back in all that but turns out we might have hurt the clutch on that one as well when amelia drove it back and fourth gear he rode the hell out of the clutch and like I said we'll get into more of that probably tomorrow because I'm gonna be going back over to his shop and we're gonna be showing some more of the han drew tomorrow but we were doing that a couple days ago and we were gonna make a full video on that but because of the issues we had we ended up holding off on that so we will come back to the Han drew and also before we could start we also have a special guest some of you may know this is Aaron from 8:02 garage let's go guys you guys might recognize him from the comments he actually came down he's on this like road trip across the country and he came through Colorado to go to a wedding hit me up asked if he could stay at my place and I no problem with that at all he's been hanging out with us the last couple days so it's been fun working on the Honda he's been crashing on the couch pretty comfy couch huh it's not bad honestly I stayed on one couch in Ohio it was about this wide so it's an upgrade for me to upgrade the boosted couch is alright so yeah he's been hanging around helping us out a little bit but yeah like I said today we're gonna be focusing on the wago I didn't show every little step of what I've done in the last couple days and today so real quick I'll go over it so as you guys know last time I showed wago it was just about to be running it kind of ran but it ran like crap all it was was I didn't plug in the 4 bar on to the Han data for the map sensor I still had a stock map sensor on the tune and that did not let it run right all I did was plug in a 4 bar on there and she fired right up I got the fuel lines kind of reconfigured got him tucked out of the way there really close to the exhaust so now they're not as close and I also put the little up pipe off the mr2 on there it's only a block off the wastegate dump right here it's blowing a little bit of exhaust out of that but I think she's ready to go either way we did actually fire it up already we know runs and we're actually gonna try to take it around the block I actually got some axles thrown in there as well all I have in here are just stock base model like oh five RSX axles for each side and then it's just the stock case series half shaft and then I also took the drive shaft off as well or at least the front half of it because I don't want this dragon on the ground we don't have that hooked up yet this side is gonna have to be cut right here and then we're gonna have to weld on a reweld on this flange but just shorter and then I need to get an adapter to adapt this flange to the flange on the transmission that'll be for another video I have the adapter on the way still have some other Kay tune parts that need to go on like this valve cover I still need to clean up all the wiring get the alternator mounted up as well because right now it's not charging but yeah she is getting there she runs great and we also need to hook up a throttle cable for right now what we're gonna do is I just hung the throttle cable on the throttle body right here and I'm going to pull on it from the window doesn't get all of the thrill from the throttle body but we get enough to at least Revit and I also don't have any sort of shifter cables hooked up so what we have to do is manually click it into gear back it out do whatever then we have to turn it off get out and then click it into whatever gear we want so she is obviously not ready for a first test drive but I want to see you go down the road anyways it also doesn't have a radiator no coolant so we can't drive it for too long or else it will get too hot I do have a new track bar on the way so I can mount all that stuff up but we really have nothing else to do except driving around I mean this is as far as we can get with the parts we have so it's yeah it's actually really cold out starting to cool down I really want to get Wagle ready for winter so when it snows we can go drifter around but uh yeah I think we're gonna try a fire up put her in a verse and back it out take you down the road and hopefully doesn't get too hot there you go all right so we just got it backed out real quick and since it doesn't have the traction bars on it or the factory like torsion bars that go to the front control arm I can't go too fast because these wheels will move like crazy because without those that's pretty much what holds the control arm in place and if I try to gas it too hard if you guys remember my front wheels on wago with the ebay traction bar since it didn't hold them good enough my whole wheel would pull forward because it would just move the whole bar but now that it's completely gone they are gonna move a lot so I just have to drive it really slow but as you guys saw she just backed out under her own power I think we're just gonna try to make a quick lap around the block and drive it back in just because we can and yeah I guess let's go what oh no that's good turn yeah that's the oil return for the trip we should put a plug on it but the oil sits sits milord I'll put some up I'll put some tape on it real quick oh yeah has plenty of oil you're not gonna is really sketch little fritter kind of a little Stan's life wagons first - moving under your own power I chucked that door make it quick did you see that flame though don't tell me with a good time heyno wants no part of it do it again stand on limiter far he'll know I did it once that's all you need well guys why go is officially moving under its own power obviously there is a lot that needs to be done before I can actually drive it so like I said it still needs the alternator really needs the track bars that's probably one of the main things because when we took it around the block the wheels were shaking like crazy because there's nothing holding the control arms in place really but it's still drove and we also need get the throttle cable hooked up and a whole bunch of little things but she is definitely coming along for sure and I just want to make a video keep you guys updated when I'm out on wago we also have a clutch on the way for the route I see as well and a couple other things for that I still need to track down a first gear set for that transmission that broke and we actually recently picked up another stock Prelude and I might be throwing this back into the hatch to try to make it to some of the last races of the season since the transmission that we took out of the hatch and put in the van broke first gear we might just send it on a stock see how long that holds up and try to get some races out of the hatch before the season is over but uh yeah I was also over at the new shop earlier today with friends getting some things figured out with that so they're pretty busy lately definitely some more things to come yeah like I said wanted to throw a quick video together for you guys keep you updated on WAGO and it's really about it big thanks to Aaron for coming to hang out you helped with the Honda as well it's been here for the last few days now like three or four days yeah as long as you have enjoyed your stay so far and everybody's super super chill it's just a great time yeah I'm white and hidden we're just over here we were just romping on WAGO she was shooting some flames so that was pretty cool but uh yeah that's pretty much it for tonight guys like I said big things coming so be sure to stay tuned and thanks for watching\n"
