Welcome to Another Installment of Matt's Towing and Recovery
We've had a few fans stop by from all over the world over the last couple of weeks, just kind of checking us out to see if we're for real. And that turns out we are! We've been joined watching you and Matt, and our friend Yuka Mississippi, so thanks for stopping by. I got a call from the Washington County Sheriff's dispatch, and it seems like there's a Ford Ranger up off the road at the Oak Grove campground. They said it's over an embankment off the road, a little ways down. So we're headed up there to find something - I don't know what it is yet, you'll see. We've been up here before, nice views, and you get this front end away from the tree; let's start with the seatbelt.
So why did the seatbelt? Well, the seatbelts just hold it up from steering, so it's like having an extra guy in there holding things together. It's like having a homeless friend who keeps your steering wheel straight, unlike a purse that's just going to sit there and not do anything. We've got it hooked up - not very good for towing, but we're gonna pull up here where we can get everything hooked up. There's a wide spot in the road where we can say if we get everything sorted out, we'll be fine. We had around six or seven cars come through here today - weekend explorers all around! And it's nice when all the wheels are still on there and it'll steer and roll. That helped us out a lot; they couldn't stay on it for long. They saw this note - "Dakota four-wheel drive, I bought it huge about when I was four years old" - and it looks like someone put in some bellhousing bolts, but they're not quite ready yet.
They've got the transmission out, just about there; driveshafts and oil in the dipstick tube going down the road. Hopefully, we got the transmission sorted out. Brian's a good man; he transferred the car all right. We still need to get the drive lines and oil - that's what it is today.
We've got all sorts of stuff here, as always.
