Hey guys, this is Austin. We take a look at alot of budget computers But this, this is somethinga little bit different. At $130, is this Dell Inspiron worth it? At $130, not only isthis one of the cheapestbrand new Windows laptops you can find,but impressibly, it'smade by a real company.

The unique selling point of this laptop is that it's made by a well-known company, unlike some other budget options which may be lesser-known or even from third-party manufacturers. Additionally, it features an AMD processor, which is not common in budget laptops. On top of that, it comes with a full year of Office 365 and McAfee antivirus software.

Speaking of the processor, let's take a closer look at what you can expect. The Inspiron 11 is equipped with a 2.16 GHz AMD A9-9420P processor, which is a quad-core processor designed for everyday tasks. It's not the most powerful processor out there, but it should handle basic tasks like browsing, emailing, and word processing without any issues.

Now, let's talk about storage. The Inspiron 11 comes with a 64 GB eMMC drive, which is enough to store your operating system, apps, and data. You can also expand the storage capacity using microSD cards up to 512 GB, which is convenient for carrying extra storage on the go.

full yearof Office 365, which byitself is like, what $100?Now when it comes to spending $130for a brand new laptop,you shouldn't expecta lot of accessories.So of course we do havethe laptop itself here,as well as the power adapter,which is really nice and tiny.At $130, this is incredibly cheap.But what we're looking at,at least at first glanceis something that doesn'tlook all that differentfrom a lot of the $170 to $200Windows laptops out there.And one of the big reasons behind thator at least one of the main differencesis that this is going to berunning an AMD processor.Which is interesting,because Intel basicallygives away their processorsat this price point.Actually it doesn't feel thatbad, to be totally honest.I mean sure, it's goingto be made out of plastic,and port wise there's well two USB ports,and a micro-SD card slot with an HDMI,so not exactly full featured,but I mean, it doesn't feel likethey cut a lot of corners here.Well look at that,there's also going to bedual front firing speakers.Not that they're goingto be particularly large,but it beats having them on the bottom.I feel like there'sgonna be a catch though.There gonna be a reason whythis was $130 brand new.One of the main competitors for somethinglike the Inspiron 11 is going to be this,the HP Stream.Now this overall design has been aroundfor quite a few years,it's been slightly tweaked here and there,but this is going to bedifferent in a few major ways.But the most obvious isgoing to be the processor.As opposed to being poweredby an Intel Celeron processor,this guy instead isrocking an AMD A6-9220e.Unlike the Celeron, thisguy's going to be basedon AMD's last generation APU cores.So what that means is thatyou're going to be gettingtwo Steamroller cores,that start of 1.6 gigahertz,and can boost up to 2.4gigahertz, sometimes,and a little bit more emphasison the sometimes in a second,but what that means is thatyou are going to be gettingfairly low performance asopposed to a much more expensivecomputer but in this sortof sub $200 category,it's actually going to bea pretty decent step up.It does feel like there'sslightly too much performancefor the fanless designto handle sometimes,so when you're doing intensivetasks such as Windows update,a lot of times the bottom,and especially the keyboardwill get very warm to the touch.And it's not going to bescalding hot or anything,but it does means that you're going to belosing some performance,thanks to throttling.Put it side by side withother similarly priced laptopswith Celeron solutions, and you'll seethat this actually is goingto perform pretty well.Now the only real knock against itis that it only does usesingle channel memory,but again that's very similarat this sort of price point,and thankfully we do havea full four gigabytesof DDR4 on board.One of the biggest issues when you pick upa super cheap laptop like thisis going to be with the storage.Both of these options areonly going to give you32 gigabytes of eMMC flash.Now it's going to be fine as far as speed,but storage-wise, itgive you almost nothingleft out of the box.But anytime you actuallyhave to do a majorWindows update, like Ihad to do when I firstset up this laptop,you actually have to use externalstorage to get it to work.I had to plug in a USBdrive to even get this thingfully up to date on Windows.If you pick up a laptoplike this, it is basicallya necessity to pick upat least a 64 or 128 gigmicro-SD card and let it liveinside your SD card slot.Trust me when I say, eventhough it's going to adda little bit to the price,it is going to make thisso much more usable.With Radeon graphics onboard, this actually isn'tgoing to be too bad at least in theory.So of course we have to tryeveryone's favorite game Fortnite.Oh actually, no, we don't.Just trust me, you don'twanna play Fortnite on this.Of course when it comes tospending $130 on a laptop,you're going to have tofind some compromises.And one of the biggestones with the Inspironhas to do with wifi.Now in 2018, pretty mucheverything has an AC solution.Typically this is gonnabe good for between100 to 300 megabitsper second down and up.This guy is using the nearly10 year old N-standardwhich is going to give youabout 40 megabits up and downand almost worst thanthat, it's going to beprone to a lot more interferencebecause it's going tobe 2.4 gigahertz only.For a cheap laptop, it's acceptable,it's something that I can live with,but it's not exactly going to bethe best solution in the world.Something that doesn't sucksurprisingly is the display.Now on paper it's just a basic11.6 inch 1366 by 768 panel.However in practice, it actuallydoesn't look bad at all.Oh sure, it's going to be a TN display,so we're not going tobe getting great coloror contrast, forespecially viewing angles,but it is going to be a lot betterthan pretty much anythingin this price point.And impressively, it'sactually going to look betterthan some laptops thatcost double the price.It's not great, butit's definitely usable,and a lot better than I was expecting.-The iPhone X is the mostexpensive iPhone ever,it has the biggest screen--eh, okay, so the speakersaren't exactly great,even though they are facing towards you,they're definitely on the quieter side,but I mean there's a headphone jack?The only real issue I havewith the way that the keyboardis laid out is going to be the size.Of course this is goingto be an 11 inch laptop,and you expect things tobe a little bit cramped,but what I didn't expect wasthat the actual keyboard itselfis going to be smallerthan a standard layout.Mind you, it's not goingto be a huge difference,but it's enough to slightly trip me up.Something you can get used to,but it feels like they hadplenty of space on the sideto expand the keyboard all the way out,as opposed to using it on these bezels.Thankfully it does have aWindows Precision touchpad.Mind you, it's going to be alittle bit on the small side,but it really is not bad at all.So you're going to be gettingall of the Windows 10 gestures,it's got a nice surface,accurate tracking,Honestly, some much more expensive laptopscould learn a thing or two from this.It is nice to see at least decent inputon a system that's going to be so cheap.Nothing really feels superof plastic-y or cheap,it's all going to be very, very usable.There's also some interestingtouches with the design.So even small things likehaving a little bit of a curvehere below the track pad to make it easyto just get your fingerin here and open it up.And you're also goingto be getting somethingthat's going to be a little bit smallerthan the competition.Alright, so this is a testof the Inspiron 11's webcam.Surprisingly it actually runsat a full 720p, and atleast based on first glance,it doesn't look bad?What's really going tomake or break this laptopis the price.So at $130, which is what Iwas able to pick it up for,it is an incredibly good deal.Now unfortunately, of coursewith all the sales and stuff,you might actually end upfinding it for a little bit more.Right now, taking a look aroundat other retailers, it'sgiving me something like$170 to $190, but evenat a sub $200 price,it is hard to argue with this Inspiron.The wifi might not be amazing,but the rest of the computeractually is really, really not bad.
