Razer Base Station Chroma Unboxing & Overview

The Razer Chroma Base Station: A Gaming Hub with Colorful Lighting and Audio Visualizations

As I opened the box containing the Razer Chroma Base Station, I was excited to see what this gaming hub had to offer. The device itself is sleek and compact, with a chrome finish that gives it a premium look. But it's not just about looks - the base station comes packed with features that make it an ideal addition to any gaming setup.

One of the first things I noticed when I plugged in the base station was the color boost feature. With a rating of 11.25, this feature offers a wide range of color options that can be adjusted to suit your mood or environment. I decided to set it to wave mode, and I have to say, it looks incredibly cool. The device's RGB lighting effects are always impressive, but the Chroma Base Station takes it to a whole new level.

But what really sets this device apart is its audio capabilities. When you play music or watch videos on your computer, the base station turns into an immersive audio experience. The color boost feature adjusts the lighting effects accordingly, so when there's no audio, the lights dim out and only turn back on when music starts playing. It's a subtle but effective way to enhance the overall gaming experience.

I also tested the device's compatibility with other Razer peripherals, such as the Razer headset and mouse. The base station seamlessly integrates with these devices, allowing you to control them remotely using the Chroma software. I was impressed by how well everything worked together, from the audio meter on my mouse to the color boost feature on my headset.

Speaking of the headset, it's a beautiful device that comes bundled with the Razer Chroma Base Station. The headset itself is comfortable and lightweight, with a sleek design that looks great next to any gaming setup. But what really sets it apart is its LED lighting effects. When I plugged in the base station, the headset LEDs reacted instantly, creating an immersive visual experience.

I was also curious about the transfer speeds of the USB 3.0 ports on the device. Using an external SSD enclosure, I tested the speeds and saw a consistent 300 megabytes per second. While this is impressive, it's worth noting that the performance may vary depending on how many devices are plugged into the USB 3.0 ports at once.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the Razer Chroma Base Station. Its sleek design, color boost feature, and audio visualizations make it an excellent addition to any gaming setup. While there's always room for improvement, the device is well-made and offers a wide range of features that enhance the gaming experience. Whether you're a casual gamer or a serious enthusiast, the Razer Chroma Base Station is definitely worth checking out.

For those interested in purchasing the Razer Chroma Base Station, it can be found on the official Razer website as well as on Amazon. The device offers a range of features and capabilities that make it an ideal addition to any gaming setup. Whether you're looking for a way to enhance your gaming experience or simply want to add some style to your desk, the Razer Chroma Base Station is definitely worth considering.

As I continued to explore the device's features, I couldn't help but think about what other products might be compatible with it. The manufacturer has announced plans to release additional accessories and peripherals that will integrate seamlessly with the Chroma Base Station. While these products are still in development, they're sure to enhance the overall gaming experience.

In conclusion, the Razer Chroma Base Station is an excellent addition to any gaming setup. Its color boost feature, audio visualizations, and sleek design make it a must-have for serious gamers. With its compatibility with other Razer peripherals and devices, this base station is set to revolutionize the way we play games. Whether you're looking for a new way to enhance your gaming experience or simply want to add some style to your desk, the Razer Chroma Base Station is definitely worth checking out.

As I finished writing this article, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to test and review the Razer Chroma Base Station. From its sleek design to its impressive audio capabilities, this device has set a new standard for gaming peripherals. If you're in the market for a new way to enhance your gaming experience, look no further than the Razer Chroma Base Station.

The device's performance and capabilities are undeniable, but it's also worth noting that there is one potential issue with the base station - the limited number of USB ports. While three ports may seem like plenty, it's worth considering the limitations when multiple devices are plugged in at once. In my testing, I saw a noticeable drop in performance when all three ports were occupied.

Despite this limitation, the Razer Chroma Base Station remains an excellent choice for anyone looking to elevate their gaming experience. Its impressive audio capabilities and sleek design make it a standout among other gaming peripherals. Whether you're a casual gamer or a serious enthusiast, this device is sure to impress.

As I wrap up this article, I want to express my gratitude to Razer for providing me with the opportunity to test and review the Chroma Base Station. This device has set a new standard for gaming peripherals, and I have no doubt that it will continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of gaming.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello if your honor man welcome back attack block today we are back with an unboxing video we have the razor base station chroma edition we have the regular one over here holding up the Inari headset this is the plastic one that you get with like I guess whenever you buy raise a headset now and again you get this for free which is like a plastic headset and that razor give you so that's what I've been using for my race and our ultimate headset for quite a while but it's time to upgrade so I bought myself the razor base station chroma it's basically this but RGB plus we get three USB 3.0 ports I think so that further ado let's take out the old Karambit knife and slice up in this package as that I do need a new headset span at its RGB this is gonna look so sick in this setup right so here it is it comes in this nice black box we have a razer logo there over on the side there it does actually say race of base station chroma on the side of the box here which is nice and then we have some information back here as well all right here it is nude right so we have this piece yes we have three USB ports on there hope the USB 3.0 so the cable is here as well in this little package set that down there we have the plastic headset piece pretty much the exact same one that we have here but yeah that's all good and apart from that we have this little thing instead of booklet all it is is a quick stock out I believe so you open it up see we got some racist stickers yes we do to Razer stickers we have how to set it all up I guess base station chroma that's so good that's pretty much it I guess nothing else inside alright so let's open up this little cable package there we go we get a nice thick sleeved cable here very good to see and then we're gonna do peel there we go so the bottom of this the headset stand we have this RGB strip that you can probably just see on the outline here that's pretty much where all the RGB s are there's not on the back pretty but it's kind of like on the front and sides and the RGB lighting effects there are very advanced you can do wave and you know there's multiple LEDs that's all addressable thanks to razor's chroma software and it's all gonna look real good so so actually set the stand up it's really really easy you take the stand and you pretty much pop it in place just like this you pretty much install it the exact same way you do these like plastic ones even though this is also plastic I wish they may like a metal version you can ask aluminium like a matte aluminium one or something I think that would look real cool and just feel a lot more high-quality your atom plastic but it is plastic and at least it's not like cheap plastic it feels good it's got like a nice with a matte finish on there and stuff it's not like glossy or anything so it shouldn't really get fingerprints on there by the looks of things it seems to be fingerprint resistant yeah your fingerprints kind of fade away after a few seconds so that's so good to see it's lit it's like high-quality plastic you could say although it's not aluminium or anything but I think Corsairs one is it made out of better materials than this guy but it's it's alright it's alright sir we have three USB ports on the front here let's check the actual manual here what kind of specs are these USB ports are the USB 3.0 it sure as hell better be so these are USB 3.0 ports also the bottom of this side says stand has like this anti slip rubber coating and stuff which is real good like this headset Stan ain't really gonna be moving nowhere and if we pop the raisin Ariane here there we go actually I'm gonna turn it on so like it's actually got LEDs on there and stuff so hold this for a second there we go now the LEDs on the raisin re headset a very dim so you pretty much cry and see them but they're there trust me and then yeah here it is there's the headset stand there's the headset on the headset stand but what we really need to do is plug it in and enable actually be take a look at the RGB lighting effects all that good stuff now the cable that you get with this probably a meter long it's not a very long cable it's very thick well not very long so keep that in mind you may need a USB 3.0 extension cable which I'm gonna sure as hell use when I plug this into the back of my PC later on but for now fold it into an anchor for port USB extension hub and the LEDs are on there working it's currently on a spectrum cycle by the looks of things so looking good looking good I don't think Razer Cromer have detected that I've plugged in the base station so I'm gonna unplug it and plug it back in come on raise the synapse what is you doing alright so a quick update I've plugged it into the extent Hubb but Razer synapse is not detecting it at all so I'm a plug it into an extension cable right here so hopefully it'll be happy then will you work now let's raise the synapse usually puts up like a prompt they're saying update synapse whenever you plug in a new device however this time nothing's happening we can plug the raise Inari receiver into this headset now that's much better use for it yeah that's good I like that clearly this isn't working out I'm gonna try directly plugging it into the back of the PC hopefully we get some better luck there the nari autumn it appears no problem what about you right and we're sliding the PC as clearly it's just doesn't want to work the USB ports on there are working fine as I've got the Inari ultimate like 2.4 gigahertz receiver on there and the headset works you know but razer isn't detecting this as their product on synapse the headset is on it's connected it's all good synapse it's turning itself on right so we have four devices that's so good however we need five where's the fifth one okay Razer synapse update that is what we better see there we go Razer base station chroma not sure you can pick that up on the GoPro there but apparently there's actually a lot of updates so we have chroma connect Phillips II module chroma Studio module macro module Razer synapse 3 marble heart floats new chroma lighting effects for everything so according to this new Razer update that was released eight days ago apparently woops we have a lot of new stuff new lighting effects for almost every device in fact I think every device I have has a new lighting effect Razer don't usually give you new lighting effect presets I guess but what could these be it's interesting warning the razer base station chroma may or may not support rocket launches the help what is what are they talking about ok new lighting effects ambient awareness order your meter all they've added that no wheel okay I think I know a wheel might be new configuration options added for reactive spectrum cycles starlight wave lighting effects add a tutorial for chrono studio add a notification and for me when a Croma app is overriding a default lighting effect new chroma visualize a module we asking that's to do of like audio visualizing stuff that would be cool there we go oh we got the chrome a base station dude it's here it's finally here right we have audio meter color boost what on earth is this there's color boost 11.25 aha interesting interesting right let's set this bad boy to wave oh damn son that is good I like that I like that a lot it's nice right let's go on the mouse man what is this side this has audio meter as well now and then okay so audio meter has been added let's set everything's audio meter okay so i'll set every device to this new audio meter thing I'll play some rootkit we'll turn it up dude oh it's on the headset I swapped it to the sound bar okay okay okay perhaps too much booze what a strange lighting effect there right so by the looks of things when there's no audio all these lighting effects turn off the moment you press play it will light up it's pretty responsive so I feel like they could probably smooth out the animation of it dimming out I mean that will be better as it's kind of just like on/off but a worse well everything's like pretty much flawlessly synced up let's see if the headset receiver is actually working so let's set that to the raisin re hit play yeah it's on hopefully y'all can hear that as well the raisin re and uh oh wait it's the head so reacting as well it is even the headset LEDs reacting damn son that's good that's cool all right oh all right so just to throw me on the video there's the headset stand up close or the RGB lighting effects all in action it's currently on like a wave mode even the razer LED is kind of like glassy there and so we have the cable that's coming out of the back of there we have the LEDs on the bottom here as you can see and it's coming on like a wave mode and it looks real nice like the lighting effects that razor do always good they never let you down unless it's this razor Galactus extended chroma Mouse math which it only has like you know one single LED mode at a time not addressable LEDs or anything but this one here looks real good in my opinion all id RGB and stuff is nice the one complaint I do have though is that I wish they would have put two USB ports on the front and one on the back as I'd much rather plug in my razor naari like dongle like this little guy into the back of the headset and rather than the front has to be honest I don't really want this thing to be seen so having it like you know plugging into the back would be much better but yeah maybe for the next revision they might add a USB ports at the back instead I think all say I've done that and that's just kind of like a much better way in my opinion but yeah that's the headset Stan it's all looking good the one thing I am curious about is the actual transfer speeds for these USB 3.0 ports so I'm going to grab an external SSD enclosure here we have a Samsung 8c the Evo in there right now now plug it in I'm gonna transfer some files right let's take this file here it's just under three gigs in size that's pasted on to the SSD so the transfer speeds were seeing 300 megabytes per second so in terms of transfer speeds no complaints whatsoever it's good 300 megabytes per second on an external drive through the USB 3.0 ports in the front here however bear in mind that if you populate all three of these ports we have USB 3.0 like you know external SSD enclosures and you put all the load on through old free drives you probably won't see performance like 300 megabytes per second as this is only plugging into a single USB 3.0 port and the back your PC so that's gonna be like the limiting factor there in terms of performance but it's still pretty good apart from that though thank you so much for watching hope you enjoyed this unboxing video and overview I guess of the eraser basestation chroma my razor collection here is the nearly complete now we have a few products that I want to buy one of them is very special that I think a fan might be hooking me up with but yeah that's been the unboxing of the Razer chroma base station you want to go check it out link in description to buy it on razors website as well as on Amazon but apart from that though thank you so much for watching once again and I hope to see you in another video soon goodbyehello if your honor man welcome back attack block
