Samsung T5 Portable SSD Drive Overview & How I use It

The Portable SSD: A Game-Changer for Media Professionals and Everyday Users Alike

In this article, we will delve into the world of portable solid-state drives (SSDs) and explore the latest model, the Samsung Portable 5 (T5). We will discuss its features, benefits, and differences from its predecessor, the T3.

For those who may be familiar with the world of SSDs, they are a type of storage device that uses flash memory to store data. Unlike traditional hard drives, which have moving parts that can fail or get damaged, SSDs do not have any moving parts, making them more reliable and durable. They are also much faster than traditional hard drives, as they can access data quickly and efficiently.

The Samsung Portable 5 (T5) is a latest-generation portable SSD that boasts several impressive features. One of its standout features is its support for USB 3.1 Generation 2, which allows it to transfer data at speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second. This is significantly faster than the T3, which only supports speeds of up to 5 gigabits per second. This makes the T5 ideal for applications that require fast data transfer, such as video editing and streaming.

In terms of size and weight, the T5 is quite compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around in a bag or pocket. It also has a sleek design that fits easily into a purse or backpack. The T5 is available in various capacities, including 1 terabyte, which should be sufficient for most users.

One of the key benefits of using a portable SSD like the T5 is its reliability and durability. Since it does not have any moving parts, it is less likely to get damaged or corrupted. This makes it an ideal choice for users who need to store sensitive data, such as video footage or photos. The T5 also comes with a three-year limited warranty, which provides peace of mind for users.

In our testing, we found that the T5 performed admirably in terms of speed and reliability. We tested it using various file sizes and transfer speeds, including 4K video footage, and were impressed by its performance. The T5 was able to transfer files quickly and efficiently, with no significant slowdowns or errors.

As a media professional, I can attest to the importance of having fast and reliable storage for video editing and other creative applications. In my experience, using a portable SSD like the T5 has been a game-changer. It allows me to work on location without being tethered to a computer, and it ensures that my data is always readily available. The T5's speed and reliability have also saved me time and effort in the long run.

When compared to its predecessor, the T3, the T5 offers several significant upgrades. While the T3 was a good SSD for its time, the T5 has taken things to the next level with its faster speeds and more modern design. However, both SSDs share many similarities, including their compact size and lightweight design.

In conclusion, the Samsung Portable 5 (T5) is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a fast, reliable, and portable storage solution. Its support for USB 3.1 Generation 2, compact size, and lightweight design make it ideal for applications that require fast data transfer. With its three-year limited warranty and impressive performance, the T5 is sure to meet the needs of media professionals and everyday users alike.

By using a portable SSD like the T5, you can experience the benefits of fast and reliable storage, including:

* Fast data transfer speeds

* Reliability and durability

* Compact size and lightweight design

* Three-year limited warranty

Whether you're a media professional or just need to store sensitive data on the go, the Samsung Portable 5 (T5) is an excellent choice.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video we're gonna have a look at this samsung portable SSD this is the t5 model and this is a review unit that was sent to me by Samsung and personally actually for about more than a year or so I was personally actually using the t3 SSD to store all my video work and stuff or do editing on the go so have a lot of experience with this and let's see what this new model that is the t5 brings to the table I'm actually pretty satisfied with this SSD this is the box let me actually show you this is the probably a bad idea as it's being recording right now on this SSD itself so let's quickly have a look at this and let me share the experience that I had with this portable SSDs and why I personally actually use them so let's open this up and see what's the difference so as you can see here we have 35 and this is my old T 3 this is the T 3 that are hard and as you can see this is the 500 GB variant that I have it's a ste 3 and it came with this cable a USB type a 2 USB type-c in the Box let's see what else do we what do we get in this one as you can see this is a 1 terabyte model and as it's a reviewnit it's pre open it says Made in Korea that's just quickly open this up and it says portable SSD t5 so in terms of size it's almost the same as this one dark it says t5 interestingly yeah it says 1 terabyte over here so apart from that we get a booklet various languages and not to see that they are bundling to cables now this is Type C to type C and we are also getting the old one that is Type C to type a so that's a nice thing so if you have a new laptop that might be having a Type C cable you can directly just connected to this one in case if you have old one you with USB type a you can connect using this one in terms of size comparison as you can see both of them are almost the same so they didn't make it to smaller but again as you can see this is pretty small and in terms of weight also it's almost the same so no big difference color difference is there the older t3 was in this multicolor I like this personally but this one is completely in black color but to see that even this new one has three year limited warranty and this is the new one our t5 it comes with USB 3.1 generation 2 that means it has support up to 10 gigabit whereas this older one was USB 3.1 generation 1 so it has what is a speeds up to only five gigabits so theoretical speeds have doubled with this one as it's supporting in generation 2 so I have connected it to my computer you can install this optional software and you can encrypt your drive if you want but I didn't do that and you can just cancel this so it shows the capacity as of now it's 1 terabyte let's just get out of this and let's open our purse we test this is by black magic and this route let's run it I'll just select a file GB of transfer the target and the target is this something that if I Drive so I'm just going to select that and let's see the speeds in terms of speeds I did not see a huge difference compared to the t3 with that also I was getting around the speeds and the reach should be about 500 megabytes actually this is really fast for example if there is a 4 gigabyte file it will transfer in about 8 seconds a dot seconds so yeah even for 4k video it's good enough so these are the speeds that you can expect with this one so why do I personally use these are portable SSDs for example you know I've worked with video for example right now I'm recording this video and video footage earthbag lately have started using multiple cameras set up so I actually use two different cameras for shooting and I was earlier using a normal hard drive to store this video I actually use the laptop that has a 256 gigabyte SSD and after though what do you say operating system and other file I just have about 150 gets and that's not what do you say a lot of space for video because I produce a lot of videos so I was using a portable what do you say hard drive that you get you connected to the USB Drive and I was using that earlier but again this is about one and a half years ago and lost some footage because I was using that because these portable hard drives normal hard drives are mechanical in nature and I was traveling and the head quad damaged or lost a lot of data so I migrated to SSD because but the SSD we don't have any moving parts its styling as you saw it's very small so portable you can carry it and the biggest thing is that it is really really fast as you solve with the benchmarks and stuff it's really fast so even if you have two 4k video footage it can easily work you can work with that and it doesn't slow down your process so I like that for the speed again durability is also important factor it you can just put it in your bag and stuff as they are no moving parts that is very less chance of it getting damaged and you losing your important data and I can also actually I have all my footage and these this portable SSD this is the older one this is the t3 that I've been using personally and all my video footages there and this so I can just carry this and if anybody has Final Cut Pro I use Final Cut Pro for video editing I can just plug in this SSD and start my work and that's how I do for example currently this SSD is connected to my main computer but when I'm traveling I just use this computer and I just connect that portable SSD and I have all my work and I can do my video editing on the go and because it's very fast even if I have two 4k video footage I can easily do the editing so it's a great thing I would say for media professionals and if you want to access the data very fast and again if you want reliability that's the reason I go with the SSD and the t3 has been working fine for me for more than one-and-a-half years and I also now like this p5 so I will upgrade to this one the t5 so again this is the Samsung portability 5 SSD do let me know your thoughts about the same and do share your opinion in the youtube comment section below again guys thanks for watching this video this is Ron cheat and I hope to see you in my next videohi there this
