**The Audi e-tron: A Comprehensive Review**
The Audi e-tron is an electric SUV that offers a unique blend of performance, comfort, and practicality. In this review, we put the e-tron to the test on various roads and terrain, including a country club and golf course, to see how it handles in different driving situations.
**Handling and Suspension**
One of the first things you notice when getting into the e-tron is its lowered suspension over the entry-level Sport model. This gives the car a slightly firmer ride, but it still does a decent job of dealing with rough terrain, such as cobblestone roads and uneven surfaces. The binaroid suspension system helps to absorb shocks and bumps, making for a smooth ride even on bumpy roads.
The steering is also noteworthy, with a nice weight to it that feels responsive without being too light or twitchy. However, there's no need to switch to sports mode unless you're feeling particularly enthusiastic behind the wheel – the e-tron doesn't pretend to be a sports car, and that's just fine by us.
**Visibility and Safety**
Visibility is also an important consideration when driving the e-tron, particularly in low-light conditions. The raised roofline can create blind spots, but Audi has taken steps to mitigate this with larger door mirrors and additional glass in the front of the car.
The e-tron also features a range of safety features, including adaptive brake assist, which helps to prevent accidents by automatically applying the brakes when you get too close to another vehicle. This feature was put to the test on a particularly nasty piece of road, where the e-tron handled itself admirably.
**Acceleration and Range**
One of the most exciting aspects of the e-tron is its acceleration. The electric motor delivers plenty of power, especially in Sport mode, which can accelerate the car from 0-60mph in under 5 seconds. However, it's worth noting that this is still a family SUV, not a sports car – and that's just fine by us.
The e-tron also has an impressive range of up to 270 miles on a single charge, making it well-suited for long-distance driving. We took the car on a route that covered over 40 miles, which helped to test its battery life. The result was a real-world range of around 3.5 miles per kilowatt-hour – not bad at all.
**Quiet and Comfortable**
One of the most pleasant aspects of driving the e-tron is its quiet and comfortable interior. The soundproofing is excellent, with barely any noise from the engine or road. This makes for a relaxing driving experience, especially on long journeys.
The car also features plenty of storage space, including a large boot and loads of cupholders and storage compartments throughout. This makes it an ideal family car – perfect for road trips and everyday errands alike.
**Verdict**
So, should you avoid the Audi e-tron? Not at all. In fact, we think it's one of the best small electric SUVs on the market right now. While it may not be as quick or exciting as some other electric cars – like the Tesla Model 3 – it makes up for this with its practicality, comfort, and range.
Of course, if you're looking for a more extreme driving experience, you might want to consider another option. But if you just need a reliable, comfortable, and quiet car for daily use – or even long-distance driving – the e-tron is definitely worth considering.
