Apple WWDC 2021 - 9 Things to Expect!

Apple is rumored to be considering several new features and upgrades for its upcoming iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other devices. According to an unverified leaker, some of these features may include an in-display fingerprint reader that would work alongside Face ID. This feature has been reported before, but there is no official confirmation from Apple.

Additionally, the leaker claims that iOS 15 will receive several multitasking improvements, although it's unclear what exactly these improvements will be. The leaker also mentions that some dark mode UI tweaks and IMessage updates are expected to be part of the update. Furthermore, food trucking support is said to be coming to the Health app, along with notification and lock screen changes.

In terms of iPadOS 15, Mark German's report confirms that the operating system will feature a redesigned home screen with on-screen widgets that can be placed anywhere. This means users will have more flexibility in how they customize their home screen. The report also mentions new notification controls that allow users to customize notification settings based on their current activity.

IMessage is expected to receive updates, with Apple trying to make it more similar to WhatsApp in terms of features. However, the leaker has not revealed what specific changes will be made. Additionally, there are plans for new privacy features, including alerts when apps are secretly collecting data from users.

Regarding iPadOS 15, John Prosser's report last year stated that Apple plans on bringing pro apps to the iPad soon. This could include Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and even Xcode, which would make the device compete better with Macs.

Moving on to macOS 12, there have been no leaks about any major features. It appears that Apple has either become better at preventing software leaks or the changes will be too small to warrant leaking. However, considering how big the changes were in the previous macOS "Bixer" update, it's possible that this version won't bring anything significant.

The actual name of macOS 12 is predicted to be Macos 12, following the pattern set by Apple in the past. The company typically renames its operating systems with a new number (e.g., from OS X to macOS) when there are significant updates.

Apple WatchOS 8 is expected to feature some minor updates, including new watch faces and potential improvements to sleep tracking. However, this has not been officially confirmed by Apple.

Finally, tvOS 15 is rumored to have a design refresh with full parental controls and screen time management. The App Store app is also expected to receive a redesign for easier navigation. Additionally, there are plans for Apple to enter the console industry, supporting the PS5 and Xbox controllers, as well as potentially attracting larger game developers to port their games to the Apple TV.

The author of this article expresses excitement about the 14-inch MacBook Pro's upcoming release. They have created a video on that topic, which they plan to publish soon. The article concludes with a message from Daniel, thanking viewers for watching and hitting the like button if they enjoyed the video.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwwc 2021 is just one week away we have made a seven things to expect video back in april but we've had so many updates since that it was time to do an updated video as we are actually getting way more announcements than we initially expected and this wwdc will be one of the biggest ones yet so without any further ado get a snacks ready and here are 9 things to expect from this wwc so you probably noticed that apple has recently launched a few new massive ios and watch features that focus on accessibility you can now paint your fingers together and the apple watch is able to recognize that and use as input which is pretty incredible on top of this the ipad will support third-party eye-tracking devices and the overall improvements to accessibility that apple has announced are so massive and also so unexpected why would apple announce so many new software features before wwc unless they have a ton to talk about at wwc and they had to pre-announce some things to make room for some even bigger announcements this is why i believe that this wwc would be one of the biggest ones we've ever had and the first thing that i expect to see here is some brand new apple silicon the m1x or the m2 or something else entirely with a different name that doesn't matter what it does matter is that we will be getting the follow-up to apple's m1 processor mark german posted some details into apple's upcoming chip lineup and luke miani also got his hands on a list of upcoming apple silicon processors which seems to match up with what mark german reported long story short we are getting at least two new apple chips in 2021 the first one being a slightly improved version of the m1 with the same a core cpu but a 9 to 10 core gpu as opposed to 8 or seven and then the second chip is a much more powerful one with 10 cpu cords as opposed to 8 and 16 and 32 core gpu options as opposed to 7 and 8. and this is the chip that mark gorman expects apple to introduce this summer while the weaker one will come out later in the year likely around november or so apple might actually talk about both chips at wwc but i only expect them to release new macs with this more powerful version of it for now speaking of max at number two we have the thing that i'm hyped for the most which is the first macbook pro redesign in five years with the macbook pro 14 inch we've made some videos on this already and in those videos i said that we could see this new macbook pro either in june at wwdc or in november at a separate event or german confirmed that we would see it in the summer with apple now releasing a second teaser for wrdc which seems to show three people using macbooks macbooks that appear different than the initial invite or even on the 2020 one as they have a very dark back and they're also larger than the 13 inch models that we had in the 2020 invite not only that but in the glasses of this girl here we can see some code being reflected and sammy from mac rumors clarified that they all show the following emojis now to me this looks like 8 sleep code but since they all say true it could also be a hint that there is a new macbook pro coming on top of this john prosser did confirm that the new macbook pros are coming at wwec which means that this will be for me at least the second most exciting wwc ever after last year's one when apple announced the switch to their own silicon right now in terms of what to expect from this macbook pro we are getting a brand new design we are getting that brand new apple silicon processor with 10 cores and a 16 or 32 core gpu as well as more ram likely 32 gigabytes and more ports such as hdmi mac save and an sd card reader the touch bar is getting removed and we might see a darker color option as well something like a matte black unfortunately we would not be getting mini led anymore as this has been pushed to next year but we are getting all of the above and by the way we will be doing a final examiner's video on the 14 inch macbook pro this week to recap all the leaks in greater detail so definitely subscribe if you don't want to miss out on that video the second thing that we'll get at wwc is a redesigned 16-inch macbook pro which hasn't received an update since 2019. this is rumored to have the same design language as the brand new 14-inch macbook pro the port selection is set to remain the same with three thunderbolt ports one hdmi one sd card reader and mac save the biggest improvement here would be performance wise where we expect to see the same processor as in the 14 inch macbook pro with potentially some higher ram options up to 64 gigabytes or even that 32 core gp option being restricted to just a 60 inch model this is also a possibility on top of that i predict the 60 inch macbook pro to have better speakers and potentially even better microphones than the 14 inch model and then we have an unexpected one and brand new mac mini a mac mini with not just the same high-end processor that we're getting inside these new macbook pros but one with potentially a new design as well john prosser posted these renders of the brand new mac mania redesign and it seems like it will not just be shorter but also smaller than the one we have now which did have a ton of empty space inside we are getting two more thunderbolt ports and the same magnetic power cable that we got with the new imac and we're also getting a glass top as opposed to the aluminium top that we have now however mark german did say that the mac mini might actually come at a later point in time so a wwc launch is not confirmed yet even though it will have the same specs as these new macbook pros aside from the new max the main focus of the event would of course be software with the biggest one being ios 15. we do not actually have many ios 15 leaks so i'm going to cover what we know so far and the verifier reported that ios 15 will only support the iphone 7 and newer dropping support for the iphone 6s and the first gen iphone sc on top of this leaker mcguire wood stated that apple will be adding the always-on display functionality in ios 15 for when the iphone 13 launches which will feature an ltpo panel he also stated that ios 15 will have a redesign control center which will take inspiration from macos bixer's control center design as well as add the ability to easily rearrange the toggles ihack 2 pro also said the same in august 2020 that ios 15 will feature a redesigned control center as well as a new lock screen with new notifications and mcguire wood said that apple is also working on an api to allow developers to make use of both touch id and face id at the same time which is what has been reported in the past that apple is considering including in some sort of upcoming iphones an in-display fingerprint reader which would work alongside face id ihack2pro also said that some multitasking improvements will be coming to ios 15 but he hasn't really specified what exactly those are yet aside from this we've had some fresh rumors that ios 15 would feature some dark mode ui tweaks some imessage tweaks as well as food trucking support in the health app and some notification and lock screen changes as well now these are coming from an unverified leaker so do you take this with a big grain of salt however some of these do match up with what i hack 2 pro said previously next up we have ipad os 15 which is expected to be a very big upgrade so in the wwc 2021 video that we did back in april i predicted that ipad os 15 will introduce all the features that ios 14 introduced to the iphone such as on-screen widgets that you can place anywhere you want as well as support for the app library and now mark german's report basically confirmed just this the fact that ipad os 15 will feature a redesigned home screen with the ability to place widgets anywhere you want mark german also reported that new notification controls will be coming which will allow users to customize notification settings based on the current activity such as working sleeping and so on this is pretty great because i for example am constantly bombarded by emails and social media notifications so i actually keep my phone on do not disturb mode all the time because of this mark also said that imessage will be getting some updates as well with apple trying to make it more similar to whatsapp in terms of features but he hasn't really revealed what his changes might be yet he also stated that apple will be adding some more privacy features with alerts as to when apps are secretly collecting data from users which is pretty cool and finally we heard that rumor from john prosser last year that apple plans on bringing pro apps to the ipad soon which i think might actually happen at this wwc as apple does indeed have you know the m1 processor inside the ipads 2 as they do in the max which means that we could see a version of final cut pro 10 logic pro 10 and even xcode coming to the ipad which would make it compete way better with the mac then we have mac os 12 and here we haven't had any leaks about any features which to me shows that apple has either become way better at preventing software leaks or the changes would be so small that they were not even worth leaking to be honest considering how big of a change macos bixer was with the entire os redesign i do not see mac os 12 bringing anything major to the table speaking of the actual name i do predict this version of mac os to be called macos 12. as before bixer macos releases were called macos 10.15 10.14 and so on but then bixer changed that and called it mac os 11 due to how big the changes were and then since we've had updates to macos bixer that were labeled macques 11.3 and so on i do actually see apple just calling this mac os 12. then we have watch os 8 and same thing here we haven't really had any leaks on this at all so all we can expect here are some new watch faces which we did get pretty much every single year since watch was two alongside some potential improvements to sleep tracking which at the moment is extremely basic and finally we have tvos 15 and we actually have had some leaks on this with the biggest one coming from the verifier that claims that tv os 15 will feature a design refresh with full parental controls and screen time management as well on top of that they also reported that the app store app will be getting a redesign as well to offer a more easy to navigate interface than what we have now we also know that apple is trying to get into the console industry not only does the apple tv support apple arcade but it also supports the ps5 and the xbox controllers and we have heard rumors that apple plans to get into some larger games soon so we might see some sort of initiative for large developers to port their games to the apple tv this is just my personal guess by the way but they'll be that'll be pretty good learn all the comments what announcements are you excited for the most in my case this is definitely the 14 inch macbook pro which for me is the perfect laptop again video on been off tech and i'll see you guys in the next one of tag signing out cheers youwwc 2021 is just one week away we have made a seven things to expect video back in april but we've had so many updates
