There’s a BIG Problem with iOS 14.3

The Battery Drain Issue on Older iPhones

One of the issues I've noticed with older devices is that they can drain their battery extremely quickly, especially when watching videos or browsing on them. To test this, I decided to watch a video on YouTube and see how quickly my iPhone SE first generation would drain its battery. The video started playing at 52% capacity, and within less than a minute, the battery had dropped to 49%. This drop of three percentage points is alarming, especially since it happened in just over half a minute.

To further investigate this issue, I went to the Settings app on my iPhone SE first generation and checked the Battery Health. The device was showing at peak performance, which means it's currently supported by the latest operating system. However, the battery health itself was only at 88%, which is considered good. This discrepancy suggests that the battery might be draining faster than expected due to other factors.

I then moved on to my iPhone 7 Plus, which has a larger battery. While watching another video on YouTube, I noticed that the battery drop was even more pronounced on this device. Within less than a minute, the battery had dropped from 50% capacity to 45%. This is a significant drop of five percentage points, especially since it happened in just over half a minute.

To put this into perspective, I also tested my iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 14.3 and watched a video on YouTube. The battery started at 16%, but within less than a minute, it had dropped to 14%. This drop of two percentage points is significant, especially since the device was only doing simple actions like watching videos.

The issue persists even after launching applications and performing other tasks that would normally consume more battery power. By the time I reached 15% capacity, the battery was still draining rapidly. It's clear that this issue affects not just video playback but also general usage of the device.

I've noticed that this issue is not unique to my iPhone SE first generation or iPhone 7 Plus. The problem seems to be more widespread, and it affects devices from various manufacturers. I've encountered this issue on other older devices as well, including a new iPhone 11 Pro. However, there's one crucial difference: the battery drain was more pronounced when the device was not charged above 60%.

To illustrate this point, I tested my iPhone 11 Pro again with iOS 14.3 and watched a video on YouTube. When the battery was below 50% capacity, it would drain rapidly, even if I didn't charge it above 55%. However, once the battery reached 55% or higher, the issue seemed to be mitigated, and the battery remained stable.

The exact cause of this issue is still unclear, but it's clear that older devices are more prone to battery drain due to various factors. As a user, it's essential to be aware of these issues and take steps to mitigate them. Whether you're experiencing this problem or not, it's crucial to stay informed about the latest updates and fixes from Apple.

The impact of this issue can be significant, especially for users who rely on their devices for extended periods. For example, if a user is watching videos on YouTube and doesn't charge their device above 60%, they may find themselves stuck with a dying battery that's unable to support basic tasks. This highlights the importance of staying informed about device performance and taking steps to prevent battery drain.

The fix for this issue remains uncertain at this point. Apple has not released an official statement addressing this problem, but it's clear that some users are experiencing significant battery drain on their older devices. As new updates and fixes become available, it's essential to stay tuned for information from Apple and other reputable sources.

In conclusion, the battery drain issue on older iPhones is a pressing concern that affects device performance and overall user experience. By understanding the root causes of this problem and staying informed about potential fixes, users can take steps to mitigate its impact.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what is up guys i device help here welcome back to the channel and today i wanted to talk about a major major issue with ios 14.3 especially on older devices now this is something that i've been holding off for some time but now it's gotten to the point where i feel like i need to address it and hopefully get some feedback from you guys that are watching here on youtube and let me know if this is an issue for you as well now obviously when apple releases new software like they had recently with 14.3 i tested on various devices including older devices like the iphone se first generation the iphone 6s 6s plus iphone 7 7 plus etc as well as new devices my primary device as well but right here i'm running 14.4 but i do test official software on newer devices as well now there's been a major issue that i've encountered during the testing process of multiple devices take a look here at the battery percentage on this iphone se first generation the beginning of this video you see there it is at 55 now what i want to do here is also show you the battery on this iphone 7 plus there it is 18 as of the filming of this video look at the time 359 we're just gonna go ahead and uh browse through the os here for just about a minute or so and let me show you what happens when you start using this device for simple tasks things like watching videos going on youtube and things like that right so if we head on over to safari here let's say we go uh to youtube right so let's go ahead and head on over to youtube here and start browsing and use this in this device as normal let's go ahead over to my channel i'm browsing here just like i would with any other device as a daily device right so let's go to my youtube channel here you can see the battery there already dropped to one percent it hasn't even been a minute yet so let's go ahead and play one of these videos here there it is another percent 53 in a matter of seconds and we'll just continue to just watch videos here on youtube one of my videos here as you can see let's go ahead and wait for the ad there it is 52 percent and it just continues to go down and down in less than a minute you can see there we dropped about three percent the video just started playing 51 iphone se first generation now you may be wondering well maybe your battery is bad your battery health is bad well let's head on over to settings there is 50 let's head on over to settings here and show you the battery and battery health on this device and it says that it's at peak performance so your iphone is currently supported by normal peak performance and the battery health it's about 88 which is good the battery on this device is according to apple good but 50 in a matter of a minute we dropped about five percent in a matter of a minute just watching a quick video on youtube it's almost unusable now here is an iphone 7 with a bigger battery here as well so let's go ahead and try that here on this iphone 7 plus actually so let's head on over the same thing to youtube.com so let's go to youtube and this also happens by the way uh with the youtube application so it isn't just watching videos on youtube this is just an example here let's go ahead and browse for my channel there it is 17 right there we just dropped the one percent we're browsing and we're going to go ahead and watch a video now it isn't as bad on the bigger devices like the plus models as the devices get newer this isn't that big of an issue but as the oldest iphones continue to get supported by the latest os the bigger the issue continues and gets with other devices so take a look there 16 we already dropped two percent in less than a minute on ios 14.3 on this iphone 7 plus and you can see there now we're watching the video we're doing our thing and the brightness is not even up that high it's less than half of the brightness there so imagine having brightness at 60 or 70 percent this could be a major issue and again this is almost unusable battery for this iphone 7 plus this iphone se first generation on the latest 14.3 so now we're watching videos we dropped about a two percent in less than a minute we can continue to launch applications and things like that so if we go and launch apps and do our thing with the percentage could drop here in a matter of another minute we could see at least another percentage or so so you guys get the idea the battery is literally really really bad especially when watching videos and browsing on your device and as i mentioned the brightness isn't even up to like half right it's not even up to 50 there it is another percentage dropped and it hasn't even been two minutes and we dropped several percentages and again demonstrating that on an iphone se first-gen and an iphone 7 plus so this is an ongoing issue that i've noticed with the older devices as i mentioned the older your device is the bigger the issue is and here it is battery is currently supported by normal peak performance at 89 so this one is healthy as well and there it is 14 is almost unusable as i mentioned and this affects most devices now one thing i've noticed is that this affects devices for the most part if you don't charge your device above 60 i've noticed that now it does affect most devices even if you're above 60 but older devices if you're below 50 and you don't charge your phone above that you're just gonna lose the battery that quick look at that 13 we're really not doing anything here and it's just crazy how bad bad this issue is in terms of battery on older devices now i did encounter this issue on a new device the iphone 11 pro but as i mentioned on the 11 pro not the pro max but the 11 pro i've noticed that the issue was if i didn't charge my iphone above 60 if it was below 50 i would say it would just drain the battery super quick on a newer device as well but if you go above 60 about 55 or 60 and above then your battery would just kind of be normal so i'm not sure what's going on here but there's a major major issue a big issue with battery on 14.3 multiple devices i just showed you here on screen that the battery is just insanely bad and let me know in those comments down below are you encountering this issue on newer or older devices i would like to hear from you because as i test these devices things are just not good in terms of battery hopefully hopefully there's a fix here soon thank you for watching this quick one guys and i'll see you on the next one peacehey what is up guys i device help here welcome back to the channel
