iPhone X - First 10 Things To Do!

**Getting the Most out of Your Brand New iPhone 10**

If you've recently purchased your brand new iPhone 10, there are several things you should do to get the most out of this powerful device. One of the first things you should do is change your video settings to high efficiency. This will help save space on your device and ensure that you can take a lot of pictures without running out of storage room.

Another thing you should consider doing is downloading some AR applications to take advantage of the iPhone 10's augmented reality features. The iPhone 10 has an even more powerful AR kit than its predecessor, and there are many cool apps available that showcase this feature. To find these apps, simply go to the App Store, scroll down to the top categories, and look for "AR apps". You can find a ton of really cool stuff in these apps, including apps like IKEA Place and AR Zombie.

One app you may want to check out is Light Space, which allows you to measure spaces with precision. Another app called Tape Measure is also worth checking out. Both of these apps are great examples of the kind of augmented reality features that can be found on the iPhone 10. If you're looking for more AR experiences, I recommend browsing through the App Store and downloading some of these apps.

**Portrait Selfies**

The iPhone 10 also comes with a feature called portrait selfies, which allows you to take professional-looking photos of yourself even when using the front-facing camera. One of the most cool things about this feature is that you can change the lighting on your selfie. For example, you can choose from options like Contour Light, Stage Light, and Mono Studio Light. This feature adds a whole new level of sophistication to your selfies, making them look more polished and high-end.

To try out portrait selfies for yourself, simply go to the Camera app, flip the camera around, and take a photo. You'll be able to see yourself on screen with a blurred background, just like you would in a professional photoshoot. This feature is exclusive to the iPhone 10, so if you have this device, be sure to give it a try.

**Organizing Your Home Screen**

Once you start installing apps and moving things around on your home screen, it's essential to organize your layout for easy access. With iOS 11, you can move multiple app icons at once by tapping and holding on an icon and then tapping on another one. This makes it very easy to reorganize your home screen into folders or simply rearrange your favorite apps.

Additionally, the iPhone 10 comes with a feature called Wiggle Mode, which allows you to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Home button. If you're new to iOS, this can take some getting used to, but it's a great way to navigate your device.

**Protecting Your Device**

Finally, one of the most important things you should do with your iPhone 10 is protect it with a screen protector and case. The front and back of this phone are truly beautiful, so you want to make sure they're protected from scratches and other damage. I recommend checking out companies like Elixir, Speck, Spigen, or Mucha for high-quality cases that will keep your iPhone 10 safe.

These companies offer a range of stylish and protective options, including leather wallets with built-in card slots. Elizer is one company that's always hooks it up to my channel, so be sure to check them out. By investing in a screen protector and case, you can help extend the life of your iPhone 10 and keep it looking its best.

**Conclusion**

If you've just gotten your brand new iPhone 10, there are several things you should do to get the most out of this device. From changing video settings to downloading AR apps and organizing your home screen, these tips will help you make the most of your new phone's features. Don't forget to protect your device with a high-quality case and screen protector, and explore the many cool apps available for augmented reality experiences.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso you just got your brand new iPhone 10 went through the initial setup process like I showed in my last video but now you're probably wondering what else should I be doing what else can I be doing to get the most out of my iPhone 10 what's up guys my name is Brandon today I'll be showing you the first 10 things you should do after getting your iPhone 10 so let's not waste any time let's go ahead and get right into the very first thing I would do after getting the iPhone 10 and that is to practice and get familiar with the new gesture controls on the iPhone 10 this is all new to iPhone users we don't have a home button like we've always had in the past so it's gonna take a lot of getting used to there's a little bit of a learning curve for the gestures on the iPhone 10 so you need to get familiar with those gestures so of course the first one's gonna be the control center so you swipe down from the top right corner to get to the control center you can see that's where you also see your battery percentage and other things that you don't see and the status bar right away and to get to the app switcher just go down to the bottom left corner and kind of just flick up a little bit and hold so you made sometimes you have to hold it sometimes you don't just kind of depends on where you get your finger but if you swipe up from anywhere and hold you'll get to the app switcher right there if you're coming from an older device as well you may not know how to take screenshots all you have to do is hold the power and the volume up button and that will take a screen shot for you and also to go in and out of applications you can just go ahead and swipe over from the left it's a quick little slide over and I'll take you to that next application and it's really really nice really convenient in a quick way to get in and out of certain applications so now we'll have a full video showing all of the gestures and basically all the basic actions for the iPhone 10 so if you want to see that make sure to check the cards and the description below because once again there is a little bit of a learning curve with the iPhone 10 even coming from the latest iPhone before this so the second thing you should do after getting your iPhone 10 is configure or setup face ID so let's go into our settings and go down to face ID and passcode put in your passcode if you have one and then you want to make sure to select what you want to use face ID for or if you never set it up in the initial setup process make sure to set it up right here now you also want to pay attention to the require attention for face ID and make sure to check those off if you want make sure to read those and see if that's something you would like so definitely go in here and configure some of these settings for face ID and then of course if you didn't get a good scan the first time you can go ahead and reset the face I'd be right there just to your device unlocks quicker and easier every single time the third thing is to tweak your display settings let's go ahead to display in brightness and the first option will be presented with of course is true tone now this I would recommend you keep on you can turn off and on and see which one you prefer I don't like the blue tent the true tone feature which was introduced with the new iPhone 8 but you can go ahead and mess around with this and see what you'd like but I'd recommend to keep true tone on I also personally like to turn auto lock to never just because I never forget to lock my device and what I'm doing things sometimes I'll be away from my phone and I don't want to go back and have to unlock it time and time again so I like to keep out of luck on never always race to wake is also a feature in here but I would not recommend this on the iPhone 10 just because you can simply tap the screen on the iPhone 10 to wake the device so there's really no need for race to wake and if we go back and go to General accessibility display accommodations this is where you can go ahead and turn on or off auto brightness whatever you prefer I prefer it off but some people do prefer it on so yeah we just go through and tweak the display settings to your liking next up is tweaking the control center which of course you get to by swapping down from the right you can see there's a lot of room down here so we can fit some more icons in there if we want to so let's go to customize controls so I personally like having my alarm and there so I'm going to add the alarm I like having my flashlight right there you can basically just move these route to where you want them to be and add in whatever you want to be in there and since you have a lot more room with the control center here on the iPhone 10 there's really no reason not to fill it all the way up unless of course you think it could look cluttered but that's just up to you I would just go in and customize the control center to your liking just because you can and then also in control center of course if you didn't know you can 3d touch on all of these toggles and get more settings more functionality out of these toggles so definitely go ahead and check that out the fifth thing you should do after getting your brand new iPhone 10 is sending some an emoji so an emojis are exclusive to the iPhone 10 however anybody with an iPhone can see the an emoji so if you don't know in emojis are basically just a mask on your face and it basically just mimics your face like the mouth movements and everything and it makes you look like an emoji it's pretty crazy it's kind of creepy too but it's really fun to play around with it again since it is exclusive to the iPhone 10 it's really cool because not all your friends have it so let's go and tap to start and you can see right here it's picking up my face and a Sammy talked I so you can see it's picking up my movement on my face right now it's talking like I'm talking so I'm just gonna go and click on record and you can see we have 10 seconds to record as much as we want so you can kind of just mess around raise your eyebrows and it knows when you're doing that it's pretty creepy but pretty funny and you can hear it did pick up my voice as well so it's pretty cool you can go through all these different emojis again it is pretty creepy but it's pretty fun as well it's fun to play around with and again people that don't even have an iPhone 10 can see the an emojis the next thing you want to do when you get your eyes 10 has changed the camera format so let's go down to our camera settings formats and we want to change this to high efficiency and this is going to capture photos and videos in the a TVC format instead of the jpg in h.264 so basically what this is going to do is give you the same quality but just reduce the space that it takes so there's really no reason not to do this and again it's really important that you do this first you know before you get into taking a lot of pictures of videos because you cannot change this once you've already taken pictures of videos and the other format so definitely change this to high efficiency you're going to save some space on your device you should also download some AR applications to take advantage of AR kit on the iPhone 10 which of course is even more powerful than the iPhone 8 so you go into the App Store right here if you go to apps and you scroll down top categories AR apps to be right there and you can find a ton of AR applications to take full advantage of a art get really really cool stuff augmented reality is definitely the feature and it's really fun to play around with some of these apps especially apps like IKEA place there's another app called AR zombie which is really fun I also have an application called light space and tape measure as well both of these are great as well so I definitely recommend looking around and did install like some AR applications on your iPhone 10 the next thing you should do on your iPhone 10 is try out portrait selfies and take a portrait selfie for yourself because again this is another exclusive feature of the iPhone 10 and it's really really cool so not only do we have portrait lighting but we have portraits selfies as well so if we flip the camera around you could see me right here and you can see that it has the blurred background it's the portrait effect on selfies a front-facing camera which is really really cool you can even change the lighting at for that as well so we have contour light we have stage light stages like mono studio light we could change that right there it's really cool to take selfies with this effect so I'm just gonna do the natural light right there take my portrait selfie take a look at it really really cool a lot more professional-looking than just your standard selfie so if you want to impress your friends with some amazing quality selfies definitely check out portrait selfies again another exclusive feature on the iPhone 10 the next thing you should do is organize your home screen so definitely once you start installing a bunch of applications you definitely want to have an organized screen whether that's folders within just that's just moving things around to the spot you want them to be in for easy access whatever it is you should definitely go ahead and organize your screen with iOS 11 you can move multiple app icons at once so if you're going to tap and hold on the icon and then tap on another one you can see that we can move multiples at once to another page or into a folder whatever it may be so it makes it very very easy here with iOS 11 and then with the ten what's your in wiggle mode you don't have a home button but you can just swipe up or you have a done button up here on the top right so get its good and tap on that once you've organized your home screen and if you're a brand new iOS user the way to make a folder is just to drag an icon on top of another and then it will create a folder for you and the final thing you should do after getting your brand new iPhone 10 is install a screen protector and then throw on a case to protect this beauty you want to protect this beauty I mean just look at it it's so beautiful the front the back everything about this phone is just beautiful and you should want to protect it so some companies I'd recommend our elixir right here we have speck we have spigen we have another company right here called Mucha who actually sent this case out you can see mojo right there they sent out this fool leather wallet case what she looks really really cool for the iPhone 10 then of course elixir always hooks it up here on the channel so shout out to a licker make sure to check them out I've links for all these companies down below but definitely install a tempered glass screen protector on your iPhone 10 and get some cases going on that as well as tempting as it is to take this thing out naked I would definitely not recommend it I definitely recommend getting at least a screen protector and a case so definitely go and do that I will have links to these companies down below they're very very good quality cases as well and they're not too expensive but anyways guys that's it for this video those are the first 10 things I would do after getting your brand new iPhone 10 if you have any other recommendations if you agree or disagree let me know down in the comment section down below if you missed any of my other iPhone 10 videos make sure to check the description I will have all those videos down there anyways if you enjoyed the video make sure to give it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe for a lot more iPhone 10 content as well as comparisons anyways guys thanks again
