The Art of Mashing Up: Creating Chicken Nugget Bacon Ranch Clubs
My family loves chicken nuggets and chicken bacon ranch sandwiches, so I decided to take them to the next level by combining the two into one delicious creation - the chicken nugget bacon ranch club. Talk about a mashup from heaven! In this article, we'll go through the process of creating these mouthwatering clubs.
Making the Breading for Chicken Nuggets
To start making our chicken nugget bacon ranch clubs, we need to make the breading for the chicken nuggets. I'm starting with two eggs and adding about 2 tablespoons of water to create a simple egg wash. The next step is to beat these together until they're well mixed. Now, it's time to add the breading mixture - panko crumbs are my go-to choice because they're nice and crisp. You can also use regular bread crumbs or seasoned bread crumbs, whichever you have in your pantry. I'm making a flour mixture by adding a cup of flour and a tablespoon of seasoned salt. This is quite a bit of flour, so it needs some seasoning.
My favorite seasoning in our house is lemon pepper, so I'll add about 1/4 teaspoon to the mix. Now, I'm going to combine everything together - rather than grab a clean spoon, you can just kind of gather everything up and shake it until it's all combined. With the breading mixture ready, I've already got the chicken ready by cutting two chicken breasts into little nugget bites. I'll drop them right into the bag to coat them evenly.
Sealing the Bag and Coating the Nuggets
I'm going to seal the bag this time because I don't want the flour mixture going everywhere. To ensure everything stays coated, I always leave a little bit of air in the bag. Now, it's time to shake it up! While my fingers are still a mess from handling the breading mixture, I'll go ahead and drop half of the nuggets into a pot of oil. Believe it or not, this first batch of chicken nuggets is ready to come out - they cook quickly!
Cooking the Nuggets
While the first batch is cooking, I'll put the rest of them in and use a spatula to handle them since my hands are clean now. Let's let this second batch keep cooking while we get the stuff ready for the sandwiches. I've got some beautiful red tomatoes that I'll just slice up - it's time to get started on building our chicken nugget bacon ranch clubs.
Preparing the Sandwiches
Now that the nuggets are cooking, it's time to prepare the sandwiches. I've got a bunch of bacon that I'm going to use in halves and cut into slices. You can never have too much bacon! I also have some beautiful leaves of butter lettuce - six leaves is perfect for this sandwich. It's time to start building our club.
Assembling the Sandwich
Now it's time to assemble our delicious chicken nugget bacon ranch clubs. I'm using a kaiser roll as my bread, and I'll spoon on some ranch first - you can use your own or bottled stuff, whichever you prefer. Next, I'll add a leaf of lettuce, four half-slices of bacon, and then the star of the show: our juicy chicken nuggets.
Adding the Finishing Touches
To complete our chicken nugget bacon ranch club, I'll drizzle on just a little bit more ranch - I like to do this because it adds an extra layer of flavor. I'll also add some dill pickle slices on top of the chicken and sprinkle a couple of tomato slices on the top bun. Finally, I'll put the lid on our sandwich and get ready to take a big bite.
Making More Chicken Nugget Bacon Ranch Clubs
I'm excited to make five more of these delicious chicken nugget bacon ranch clubs, just like the first one. With all the ingredients ready and the sandwiches assembled, it's time to enjoy our tasty creations. Who knew combining two favorite foods could result in something so amazing? The next time you're looking for a new twist on your usual favorites, give this recipe a try!
