Hands On With The BowBlade At Macworld

Elijah Gadget Hunter here at Macor 2013 for CC.com, I'm excited to share with you a really cool Contraption that's going to make you feel like Rambo. If you've ever pretended to be Rambo, taking your shirt off and running through your neighborhood, shooting a bow and arrow, no? Well, we're going to show you a device that's going to bring that experience to life, and it works with your iPhone.

This is the Bow Blade, an active gaming device that combines resistive movement with video gaming. This combination creates a more immersive and certainly a more physical experience. I'll try to let me describe it to you, so bear with me for a moment. It's basically an iPhone built into this giant bow and arrow type device. You pull it back, and then when you're playing the game, you can control how the game is moving around. Then, you pull a little trigger back here, and it fires like little items in the game.

It actually feels kind of like a workout, even for someone who's as fit and strong as I am. I mean, I'm no Rambo, but this was still a bit of a chore to do. But that's not just because of the physical exertion – there's also an exercise routine built into this device. The Bow Pole is actually one of the best exercises for postural correction. You know how often technology makes us roll our shoulders forward and give us a forward head tilt? This helps pull it all back, which is great for correcting those issues.

So, while it might be disguised as just a fun game, there's actually some real value in this device when it comes to posture. And let me tell you, I'm biased – Ron here is also a chiropractor, so he knows what he's talking about. Unlike me most of the time, haha!

Now, if you're interested in getting your hands on the Bow Blade, you can find out more information and buy one at bowblade.net. The retail price is $185, and it will be available for shipping come April 1st – but don't worry, we're not April Fools! We're actually launching this here at Macor 2013 for CC.com, so we're pretty excited about it.

Congratulations to Ron and the team on the Bow Blade. I'm feeling like a hunter now with this device – I mean, who wouldn't want to channel their inner Rambo? But don't just take my word for it. Check out bowblade.net for more information and to place your order. And that's all for today, folks! I'll see you guys next time.
