**The Rog Ally and Steam Deck: A Powerful Duo**
I recently had the opportunity to play around with the Rog Ally, a dual 16in 2.5k monitor that supports USB Type-C video output and features a sleek design. I was impressed by its ability to seamlessly connect to devices, making it an ideal choice for gamers and content creators alike. One of the standout features of the Rog Ally is its support for free sync, which eliminates screen tearing and provides a smooth gaming experience.
**Connecting Multiple Devices**
One of the most interesting features of the Rog Ally is its ability to connect multiple devices simultaneously. I was able to plug in both my Steam Deck and a wireless keyboard and mouse, allowing me to switch between them seamlessly using KVM switching. This feature opens up endless possibilities for gamers and content creators who want to use their devices in tandem. For example, I was able to run Shredders Revenge on the top screen of the Rog Ally using the Steam Deck, while running Left 4 Dead 2 on the bottom screen using the Rog Ally.
**Triple Screen Setup**
I also experimented with a triple screen setup using my laptop and the Rog Ally. By connecting my laptop to the monitor via HDMI, I was able to utilize one of the HDMI mini ports on the Rog Ally as well. This allowed me to set up a third display on the top screen of the Rog Ally, creating a massive triple-monitor setup. I could split the displays into different sections or mirror them all together, making it an ideal solution for gamers and content creators who want to work with multiple screens.
**Dual Monitor Resolution**
The Rog Ally also boasts a high-resolution dual monitor setup, with each display offering 2560 x 3200 resolution. This provides an incredible level of detail and clarity, making it perfect for gaming and graphics-intensive tasks. The monitors also support free sync, which eliminates screen tearing and provides a smooth gaming experience.
**Display Specifications**
The Rog Ally features two 16in 2.5k displays with a resolution of 2560 x 3200. It also supports free sync, allowing for smooth gameplay without screen tearing. The display brightness is rated at 500 nits, making it suitable for use in bright environments. Additionally, the monitor supports 100% sRGB and 100% DCI P3 color gamut, ensuring that users can enjoy a wide range of colors and detailed graphics.
**Mounting Options**
The Rog Ally also offers multiple mounting options, allowing users to customize their workspace. The back of the display features a ton of different mounting options, making it easy to attach the monitor to a desk or other surface.
**Conclusion**
In conclusion, the Rog Ally is an impressive dual 16in 2.5k monitor that offers a range of exciting features and capabilities. Its support for free sync, KVM switching, and high-resolution displays make it an ideal choice for gamers and content creators alike. Whether you're using it as a single display or connecting multiple devices simultaneously, the Rog Ally is sure to provide an excellent viewing experience.
**Getting Your Hands on the Rog Ally**
The Rog Ally is currently available on Kickstarter, offering backers the opportunity to get their hands on one of these exciting dual monitors. The monitor also comes in a touchscreen version for those who want to add a touch-sensitive interface to their setup. Whether you're a gamer or content creator, the Rog Ally is definitely worth checking out.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's going on everybody it's ETA Prime back here again today we're going to be taking a look at a really awesome portable monitor that I've actually had my eye on for a little while this is the du1 and yeah we've taken a look at a few portable monitors here on the channel I'm actually a big fan of carrying this around in a backpack and whatnot just in case you need a larger display for your smaller devices but this one does have something built in a bit different than what we've seen because uh basically what we've got here is two 16in displays this is a foldable portable Monitor and what makes this really neat is we can actually use this as a large single display or we can split these up separately it's also got smart KVM built in with two USB ports and this means that if you just plug in a single mouse and keyboard combo you can actually use it with two different devices it does support temp mode so you can actually use this as kind of a little versus setup having two different devices plugged in and have two separate screens all together round back we do have a mounting system and the kickstand SL Mount that we have here is their simple kickstand but it works really well basically we'll attach this to the back of the Monitor and we can set this up vertically you can also set it up horizontally it really does allow you to adjust these monitors to the perfect angle now when it comes to I/O we've actually got quite a bit on the duo1 and like I mentioned we can use this as a single monitor or we can use it as two separate monitors we've got three USB type-c ports over here and two mini HDMI ports two of these USB type-c ports will be used for video in the top one is going to be used for power n moving over to the other side we've got two full-size USB ports and this does work with KVM both of these do dual 3.5mm headphone Jacks power button and our display mode switch heading over to the kickstarter page they've got a lot of great information and they are offering two different versions so the one that we're taking a look at in this video has two 2.5k 16 in displays with a refresh rate of 144 HZ but they're also offering this with dual 4K displays really bringing it up to an 8K display in total they're also offering optional touchscreen versions of the du1 but yeah overall I've actually been messing around with this for about a week and I found a lot of great uses for it so I want to jump right into that if you're interested in checking out the kickstarter I'll leave a link in the description okay checking out one use case scenario we're using this as a single model monitor basically I've got this plugged in to a little ryen powered mini PC and with Windows we can actually snap this to either or and this is actually being detected as a single large monitor right now so if you did need a lot of screen room here you could definitely have it of course we've got that Gap in the middle but that's what we get with the foldable like this now the switch on the side will allow us to kind of swap between the monitors so we could either just use the top or use the bottom as a single monitor but what I've been doing with this when it's connected to one of these mini PCS or even my laptop is just using the top for a browser or whatever work I'm getting done and I can actually do something else on the bottom screen here like let's say play a game I'm going to go ahead and pull up YouTube We're going to run that on the top screen and then we'll start up a game and just play right there on the bottom this does have quad speakers built in and since we are using both of these monitors we're actually using all four speakers but if you have separate devices plugged in one will take advantage of two of those speakers the other will use the other two and you might notice right now from this Mini PC I'm just plugged in with a single USB type-c cable you can also go mini HDMI if you want to and while I'm playing sonic Mania here I figured I'd go ahead and also watch a video up top so go ahead and search for something here we can get that playing find yeah we'll do a 4K 60 HDR video get that going now we can come right back down here keep playing our game so I've got plenty of room here and uh I can fold this right up put it in my backpack and I've actually been using this with a laptop so I can just plug this in as a single monitor or with a laptop connected since that has its own screen built in we can go triple monitors and we'll take a look at that by the end of the video and this will work in any orientation you'll need to swap it from whatever operating system that you're running but they call this book mode and having the touchscreen version of the du1 would be really awesome with something like this we could fold it in on itself a little bit if you want to I just have it kind of spread there so we can get a better look at both sides of this lots of room to work with on each side so if you did need to do let's say some coating little bit of work on one side a little bit of play on the other and this doesn't require any kind of special drivers or anything like that you can just plug it directly in to USB type-c that supports video out or HDMI another thing I've been messing around with is connecting two different devices now I know a lot of people aren't going to be doing this with the Rog Ally and the steam dag but I figured I'd go ahead and show it off because we do have the ability to do it and since this supports KVM I've got a wireless keyboard and mouse plugged into one of the free USB ports on the monitor itself and we can actually swap between each device so this means with two devices connected here I don't need separate keyboards for each I can actually just use KVM here swap between them so we've got the Ally on the left hand side obviously that screen is on the bottom here we've got the steam deck on the right hand side and we're utilizing that top screen for the steam dag Now setting this up in tent mode would be really awesome that way you could kind of sit across the desk from each other and let's say you had two steam decks you could plug them directly in here and since both of these devices do support USB type-c video we can just plug them right into the USB type-c ports on the monitor itself and obviously with two devices connected we can have two separate things running on each display here or you could set it up to utilize that full display with either one of these devices it's really up to you shredders revenge on the top running on the steam deck we've got Left for Dead 2 running on the bottom on the Rog Ally and the final thing I wanted to show you here was a triple screen setup using my laptop this is exactly how I've been utilizing the du1 and usually the way I have this set up is using two USB type-c cables from the laptop but right now I kind of wanted to swap it up a bit I'm using HDMI from the back so we can utilize one of the HDMI mini ports on the du1 and USB type-c video just wanted to see if this would work and my main display is going to be my laptop screen bottom leftand display is going to be number two and the top screen on the du1 set up as my third display now again you can set this up any way you'd like personally I like having a triple monitor set up here but uh the way you could do it is just use this as a dual display you've got the laptop screen you've got both of these 16-in displays working as one big screen you could split it up if you want to or you can mirror all three displays at the same time I would love to get my hands on the 4K version but uh even with the 2.5k these displays look absolutely amazing they do support free sync and with this we can go up to 144 Hertz on each of these displays if we wanted to and just taking a look down the spec sheet they've got two on offer the 4K version which has dual 17.3 in 4k displays the one we've taken a look at has dual 16in 2.5k displays single monitor resolution 2560 x600 up to 144 HZ and again it does support free sync so this is really good for those igpus no screen tearing at all when it's unfolded you got a full resolution of 2560 by 3200 moving down a bit more 500 nits of brightness a 100% srgb 100% DCI P3 and we do have that vase amount on the back so you do have a ton of different mounting options with the du1 but yeah I really do think that this is a really awesome monitor some of these dual monit monitors that I've seen in the past don't work as one single monitor you actually have to have either two devices plugged in or it just mirrors the other display so having this all work in tandem is really cool now if you're interested in learning a little more about the du1 I'm going to leave some links in the description Kickstarter is up right now and remember they do offer a touchscreen model if you want to go with that one but that's going to wrap it up for this one I really appreciate you watching if you've got any questions let me know down below like always thanks for watchinghey what's going on everybody it's ETA Prime back here again today we're
