Friday's 5: Exploring Five Awesome Mac App Store Apps
This week, we're taking a look at five awesome Mac app store apps that you might not know about yet. First up, we have Bumper, a $3.99 app that allows you to choose which browser you open links in. When you click on a link, you'll see a little popup window that gives you the option to choose between Chrome or Safari. This is especially useful if you need to switch between different browsers for work or personal use.
Bumper also works with email applications, making it easy to manage your inbox and switch between different email clients. The app's preferences allow you to assign other browsers to specific situations, such as when you're browsing the web in a specific context. You can even make the popup window appear only when you hold the shift key while clicking on a link.
Another standout app is Affinity Designer, a vector design tool that's often compared to Adobe Illustrator. At $50, it's an affordable alternative that still offers top-notch features and performance. One of the most impressive things about Affinity Designer is its full-screen support, which allows you to work on large projects without distractions. You can also export your designs in various formats, including Photoshop PSD and SVG.
In addition to its robust feature set, Affinity Designer is optimized for Mac users, making it a great choice for those who want to stay within the Apple ecosystem. The app's user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, even for beginners. With its powerful design tools and flexible pricing model, it's no wonder that Affinity Designer has become one of the most popular vector design apps on the Mac App Store.
If you're looking for an alternative to Final Cut Pro, you might want to check out Motion. This $50 app is a motion graphics tool that's designed to work seamlessly with other Apple apps like Photoshop and Affinity Designer. One of its standout features is its ability to import Photoshop files with all layers intact, making it easy to work on large projects.
With Motion, you can create animations and visual effects using a range of tools and templates. The app's user interface is designed to be intuitive and accessible, even for those who are new to motion graphics. One of the most impressive things about Motion is its ability to export your projects in various formats, including QuickTime and Vimeo-compatible files.
If you're looking for a plain text editing app that can handle complex writing tasks, Ulises might be the perfect choice. This $0 app supports Markdown and allows you to preview your HTML code directly in the editor. One of the most impressive things about Ulises is its ability to publish your work directly to platforms like Medium and WordPress.
In addition to its robust feature set, Ulises is also designed with collaboration in mind. You can create new groups and combine existing sheets to create a cohesive document. The app's iCloud syncing allows you to access your work from anywhere, making it easy to stay on top of your writing projects.
Finally, we have Pastebot, a $9.99 app that offers a range of features for copying and pasting text and images. One of its standout features is its sequential paste tool, which allows you to copy multiple items from one document and paste them into another in the correct order. This feature can save you a lot of time and effort when working on large projects.
With Pastebot, you can also access a range of other tools and features, including image editing and formatting options. The app's user interface is designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate, even for those who are new to Mac apps. Whether you're a student, freelancer, or professional writer, Pastebot is definitely worth checking out.
So there you have it – five awesome Mac app store apps that can help you streamline your workflow and boost your productivity. Whether you're looking for vector design tools, motion graphics software, or plain text editing apps, there's something on this list for everyone.
