**A Wild Ride: The Racer's Journey**
The journey began with a sense of excitement and anticipation as we set out on our adventure. We started at Donuts, where we were met with the sound of revving engines and the smell of gasoline. It was clear that this was going to be an eventful ride. Our first checkpoint was RJ's Wild Wild Wings, where we found a gathering of race cars in the parking lot. The atmosphere was lively, with people taking pictures and chatting with each other. We were grateful to have made it through the first hurdle without any major issues.
As we continued on our journey, we encountered another challenge at an intersection. A car had run out of gas, and we needed to block the road to prevent a potential accident. Luckily, we were able to find a gas station nearby to refuel the stranded driver. It was a close call, but we were relieved that everything worked out.
Our third and final checkpoint for the night was Coney Island Drive-In. This stop proved to be a popular one, with many people gathered around to admire the vehicles on display. We spotted a 1973 AMC Hornet Gucci Edition, which was a real showstopper. The owners of the car were enthusiastic about their vehicle and happy to share its story with us.
As we continued on our journey, we encountered some unexpected weather. A cold front had moved in, bringing chilly temperatures and rain. Our hosts from Florida, who were not used to this kind of weather, were surprised by how cold it was. They joked that they didn't know what "cold" meant until now. We laughed along with them, knowing that we were lucky to have our warm clothes.
After a fun evening at Coney Island Drive-In, we set off on the final leg of our journey. However, our progress was halted when the car's battery died. The owner explained that the alternator had stopped charging the battery, causing it to shut down. We decided to head to Walmart to purchase new batteries and figure out what had gone wrong.
Despite the setback, we were determined to make it to Gainesville, where we would spend the night at a hotel before continuing on our journey the next day. As we drove through the night, we couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. We were finally here, and we were ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.
**Arrival in Gainesville**
As we arrived in Gainesville, we were struck by the beauty of the surroundings. The hotel was conveniently located near the track, and we felt grateful to have made it there without any major issues. Before settling in for the night, we took a moment to appreciate the electric atmosphere at our final checkpoint. We chatted with fellow racers and learned about their experiences on the track.
As we looked out at the vehicles gathered around us, we couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. These were people who lived and breathed cars, and they had come together to share their passion. We felt grateful to be a part of this community, even if only for a brief moment.
With our final checkpoint behind us, we prepared for the next leg of our journey. The sun was rising over Gainesville, casting a golden glow over the landscape. We knew that tomorrow would bring new challenges and adventures, but for now, we were content to rest and recharge for another day on the road.

you that means they also made the 230 M Drive last night we didn't leave the track till 7:00 p.m. some Racers didn't leave the track till 900 p.m. didn't get here till 3:00 a.m. so a lot of people had a lot of long days a lot of long nights yesterday there was a lot of breakages a lot of oil Downs a lot Carnage so I'm not even sure how many cars even left Orlando but we are here all these cars are here and we get ready to go go around talk to some people see what the struggles they had on the road if any and then we're taking some racing action here in a little bit how' you guys do on the road last night H how' you guys do on the road last night uh pretty good um we lost the brakes one time oh that's that's kind of dramatic yeah it was but luckily it turned out fine and we had the idle turned up to keep the the motor happy even in in gear keep the RPM having to hold the brake the whole time yeah so it was dragging so we were dragging the brakes keep up with traffic and then we came to a stoplight and the pedal just went through the floor there was no cars in front of you did nobody there was cars so but luckily there was a turn L on the others other side of the road like in the middle so and no uncoming traffic so we were able to put it in neutral turn into the turn lane and then pull into like a hotel part lot on the other side but if they were uncoming traffic we would probably would have been jeez well glad you guys made it what did you guys do yesterday 28 uh 628 628 what's the goal today just another low six hope so yeah okay try to repeat good luck today thank you no as the ti you do not want to hook up number one overall Jeff LS with a 615 yesterday looks like he made it here we going check in with him right now what time did you guys get on the road last night je uh I don't know dark light did you make it into town oh my god dude that ain't nothing we we've done that before we made it to the hotel we had to cancel our room that's fair well no actually we had to pay for the room huh so we just couldn't sleep in it but it was uh it was a great drive you know that that was all self-inflicted because we wanted to stay and right you wanted to do go for something yeah so well we I think we got the bottom end or the first half figured out so I think we're going to be all right gotcha got uh real quick just for the fans at home how long does it actually take you to get this thing from race mode to Street mode and Street mode to race about an hour and 20 minutes oh it's not bad no like I just went through all the valve train it's just all preventative maintenance you know like I just told one of the fans it's easier to pull M than beat them out right but uh it was a pretty smooth ride we burn up two fans but other than that it was pretty straightforward you know filled up twice way we went what's the goal today are you going to you going to swing forward three times you're just going to try to do a one and done I I would like stuff and smoking a little bit but other than that it was perfect no problems really what's the goal today goal is 86 any6 yeah of course we'd like to go faster if we get a 99 or something we might come back with another one but the goal for the week is sixes every day but this one isn't faster than the one yesterday it shouldn't be good luck Alex yesterday Alex put up her personal best in the car ever so today they're looking for just a six a six and they'll be happy they're looking for a 6sec average throughout the week 9 170 she got squirly on the big end the back end of the car was all over the place that was kind of scary uh otherwise that would have been a six so hopefully get that figured out I just dropped that was crazy I can show you the video it it shimmed real good on the top it was it was bad it was bad like she saved it she it was bad like I was doing good as 11360 and I got down there and the car kicked left on me and I was like like not like like there's the feel of like where you can like move around you know but it wasn't the back end kicked out from under me and I was like threw the shoes it straighten the car out and it danced around and I got stopped I thought I dropped o no is the Volkswagen before it l when it LO when I saw it there's no smoke no nothing you just went sideways a little bit Yeah but it was a 709 yeah I about to say you could still turn that in I know it's not your it you want a six but it'll keep me in second place for right now um so I I'm happy about that I still want that six so we'll probably make another pass but at least the car is in one piece there you go there you go you got something you can turn in and you're in one piece and I'm not crying M5 me every time we got the quickest and fastest first in the world right here long as hell and it's fast is the ls twin turbo combination in that car and it's awesome so it's 820 at 166 for the hearse not bad you how's it going sir all right how are you doing I'm great I I uh trying to keep it clean it's hard to keep black cars clean especially on a dragon Drive um it's actually pretty basic uh it's a non-turbo block uh it's got a little bit of a epoxy in it just for strength um CP piston Krill Rod it's a Stockport 2J uh vvti head it's a Precision 7685 nextg um it's on Motech the iTune uh got a lot of Powerhouse racing stuff this thing uh they make a lot of awesome stuff for these cars and kind of a it's got a T56 built by RPM Transmissions hell yeah Row in them gears yeah yeah it's got a GeForce dog set dog gears in it uh drive shaft shop 9 in still independent rear that's the oh that's the that's the struggle uh between that and a diaphragm clutch I'm still having a slip in my foot so you're driving the car like it was meant to be driven there you go I me STI for life but what's your ET goal for the week um I'm trying to do an eight every day that's the main goal drag week I did 4 eights and a 90 so that so you want to get that monkey off still got a heater in it okay yeah and it it did all did the whole Drive no problem yeah and I didn't know I left at - 14 so I'm like jeez I hope I keep it's cool in Florida and uh yeah no issues it's it's been great basically zero issues as far as that goes and then yesterday yesterday new PB I'm ahead of Bill now that's all it really matters oh wait what was you what did you do yesterday I went 861 at 161 I let off at about the 820 Mark cuz I was my light was flashing at me and I wasn't sure if it was no oil or what it was it was just um Chi chip L 861 personal best hell yeah yeah are you are you making more steam with the new engine or the refreshed engine had a little bit more boost okay how much power are we making then um so actually that that uh 17 lb is where we made 1485 on the dyo so now that it's dry decked I mean I can go up to 20 if I want and about every PSI is about 50 horsepower in this combo anyway oh my goodness and and it still weighs what 39 yeah so it's 3923 something okay so what are we shooting for 86 today yeah 8 85 86 okay if I could get if I could get closer but not go under then I'm going to have to make another pass so yeah we'll try for another battling Tire Shake basically if the track is too sticky these huge slicks bite way too hard and they get Tire Shake every single big tire car this round has had Tire shake and got out of it he pedal so he's in the but unfortunately cus did not make it mullet had some issues he took it to his shop last night they are out of sick week but but Ruby's still in looks like a 851 with an 8 or 851 with a 9 real close he's trying to get that 850 with a zero like he did yesterday you might take that and go with it this little Miata behind me is called the turtle I believe he did his first Dragon Drive at drag we 2019 he's been addicted ever since he's really good in the 850 class uh but he's got some stiff competition like I said Jack St JY did 850 with a zero yesterday and just did a 851 with an8 I don't know what he's done so far but he's really good at 850 I'll tell you that that's a bad that's a bad little Miata it's like probably my favorite Miata ever 855 855 with a two that's not good enough no okay so he did 855 with a two that's not going to be what he want he's probably going to keep coming around and around and around till he gets a 850 with something hopefully 850 with a zero but he's going to keep coming around 851 with an eight was just wasn't good enough for you no I threw the shoe too early to slow it down and I slowed it down too much the time slip was identical to the 850 with an noap oh really yesterday were identical it was just carrying 3 mph to the 8 and I could feel that in the car so I didn't want to break out but now that I got that data we're going 850 platy you hear how quiet that thing is the tail light can you give me a quick rundown in 30 seconds what the hell is this thing uh this is a 2001 Honda Odyssey body sitting on top of 202 Tesla Model they have the same wheelbase so it's basically like a big RC car you just swap by so it's 1080 horsepower Honda Odyssey all electric all that stuff what's your best ET in the car uh with the van body it's been a 95 but before we put the van body got it light enough to go 871 it's a little slower now with the gotcha what's your goal this pass uh okay good one that's a good one but we're limited to 100 so the goal is to feat tie and stay slower than 10 okay all right good luck man we'll see what it does test the Plaid L less a Honda Odyssey body it looks good Kyle does a 1016 right where he transmission out it's like 7 a.m. now we uh we're going to switch the pants mine has a oil temp bu on it and I pulled the pan off the transmission that we were given and it was just like full of metal and stuff oh no and it could have been from the guys transmission cooler or whatever and it's like this probably takes 3 hours to get transmission back in mullet so you know and if it's not perfect mullet will kill it you know mullet will kill whatever's in its way if it's not a perfect part okay so I was like dude I'm not going to just grenade this guy's pretty much I guess already hurt transmission or maybe and then I have you know I have to call him and say hey I also BW yours up so I was like we're done we took it too far you you and now we got some more big boys in the lane we got Tom Bailey in the Durango we've got Lutz in his car and we got the sweds in the esona we only got about 45 minutes left so all of these are probably going to be their last HPS unless they can rush around get it cooled off and get it turned around but uh probably the last hits for the big boys today all right Jeff let's just shook the tire aggressively that time not a good hit 1024 not a good pass he's not going to turn that in I guarantee they're going to come back around try something else try to go for another pass he wants that 6sec average he wants a faster than 619 average looking the spun him off the line Power Wheel power wheelie 816 none of the big guys with big slicks are doing well at all all of them got to come back around and put something down lot of smoke for the Porsche to do it 867 with a lot of smoke oh he might have blowed that thing up that sucks they were working on it all day today I'm not sure exactly what they were working on but was up in the air for most of the day today finally comes up your rer pass and it pretty much as soon as it hit the top end of the tractor got all over the place the wind shield and valve covers I think she blew up pretty good which is unfortunate unfortunate for the car and unfortunate for the track clean up all that mess 63 com he back Lutz had Tire Shake again but drove through it 693 693 213 oh yeah you did a six it wasn't a strong six but they said you had Tire shake and drove through it no it's keeps it's sneezing out there that would have been a low 6C pass it wouldn't stop sneezing I don't understand the sneeze I don't know if I'm going on I might just call it a call it a knif oh you still got a 6C average yeah that ain't what I was here for I know I wanted to beat my own average you know y he's talking about uh he has the record for Dragon Drive ever which is a average of a 619 over 5 days of competition that's insane uh I'm sure also a five would be a great thing to add to the to the list of accomplishments but he really wanted to break that record so so that was the last pass of the day no other cars are going down the track which means we have quite the mixup going on in the field so uh not a lot of the big tire cars had good passes whether it was a bad tuneup or the tire shake or what whatever it was I uh only I think three or four cars got sixes Lutz did a 693 uh Alex did a 690 something Brett did a 629 in the radial so good for him but I think he was pretty much the quickest today uh lot of struggles today I think the Porsche is out he blew up we we'll go over there and check it out but that's pretty much good to do it for uh the racing at the track today for day two of sick week uh now we have a couple two 300 mile drive to Gainesville tonight all the competitors have to do that and and then we'll be racing at Gainesville tomorrow from 9: to 3 or maybe 4: or 5: so we're going to I'm going to walk around see how everybody's doing and then get on the road here in a little bit we have first checkpoint of the night is the motor Enclave uh this is they got like a bunch of garages they have a racetrack this is a pretty cool area for automotive Enthusiast in general but they closed so pretty much we can just go to the sign take your picture with your car and then move on I think they had it open earlier so you can go around there see some of the garages see the track might sit here for a few minutes see what other cars roll through but they've been pretty consistent it's nice that we're on the road in the middle of daylight it's not quite dark yet it's not quite Dark Yet I'm not sure if we have two or three tonight but I'm sure we have at least one more so we're going to get back on the road catch up with some more Racers and taking some more action or the next checkpoint whichever one we find here we go Donuts okay at least we not doing donuts you know what I mean they're going straight they're just trying to burn out or hey yes sir all kinds of stuff here hell yeah all right we have made it to checkpoint number two which is RJ's Wild Wild Wings there's a bunch of race cars here in the parking lot everybody's getting their pictures and some are eating some are just moving on few minutes here lot of cars here nobody really working on anything just everybody kind of hanging out uh taking pictures just chilling getting food so we're going to get back on the road I think there might be one more checkpoint tonight maybe not but uh yeah hopefully everybody here makes it to gainville tomorrow so we're coming up to an intersection cars are going around another car come up here and there's a racer stuck at the intersection out of gas so we block the road so he doesn't get rear ended right there hopefully that's a problem so many gas stations man you picked right here hopefully that's it good good thank you all right no worries man no worries all right we have made it to our third and final checkpoint for the know what that's like would you do it on a motorcycle would you do -40 on a motorcycle no cuz then it would be 100 at that point no it's what like 45 out 50 maybe for the 60 m 50 it's probably 60 right now y'all are y'all are y'all are just warm weather people that's all that is Florida boy there you go there you go in Florida but I'm in North Carolina now well go get yourself a Coney and some much after that so this is the final checkpoint of the drive and uh we'll stop we see some some Racers if not we're just going to go to the hotel so boys what what's wrong this time wouldn't Gess wouldn't guess what is it this time it just same thing before it just shut off and now it won't start the battery's completely dead oh no is the alternator dead so the battery died so you didn't have spark and that's why it died I guess I guess just R walm yeah go to Walmart I'll be here all right don't go be safe Isn't it nice to have good friends you know well hopefully they can grab a couple batteries and I can Le you get to the town I think we're 60 Mi out 70 something like that not too far not too far well at least get it to the track and if you got to figure it out more tomorrow yeah all right man it's either the battery or the notator one or the other so it I I'm thinking if the battery's dead already the alternator is not charging the battery and that's why it's kicking off but Park can you see any of the races behind you that means they also made the 230 M Drive last night we didn't leave the track till 7:00 p.m. some Racers didn't leave the track till 900 p.m. didn't get here till 3:00 a.m. so a lot of people had a lot of long days a lot of long nights yesterday there was a lot of breakages a lot of oil Downs a lot Carnage so I'm not even sure how many cars even left Orlando but we are here all these cars are here and we get ready to go go around talk to some people see what the struggles they had on the road if any and then we're taking some racing action here in a little bit how' you guys do on the road last night H how' you guys do on the road last night uh pretty good um we lost the brakes one time oh that's that's kind of dramatic yeah it was but luckily it turned out fine and we had the idle turned up to keep the the motor happy even in in gear keep the RPM having to hold the brake the whole time yeah so it was dragging so we were dragging the brakes keep up with traffic and then we came to a stoplight and the pedal just went through the floor there was no cars in front of you did nobody there was cars so but luckily there was a turn L on the others other side of the road like in the middle so and no uncoming traffic so we were able to put it in neutral turn into the turn lane and then pull into like a hotel part lot on the other side but if they were uncoming traffic we would probably would have been jeez well glad you guys made it what did you guys do yesterday 28 uh 628 628 what's the goal today just another low six hope so yeah just for the fans at home how long does it actually take you to get this thing from race mode to Street mode and Street mode to race about an hour and 20 minutes oh it's not bad no like I just went through all the valve train it's just all preventative maintenance you know like I just told one of the fans it's easier to pull M than beat them out right but uh it was a pretty smooth ride we burn up two fans but other than that it was pretty straightforward you know filled up twice way we went what's the goal today are you going to you going to swing forward three times you're just going to racing stuff this thing uh they make a lot of awesome stuff for these cars and kind of a it's got a T56 built by RPM Transmissions hell yeah Row in them gears yeah yeah it's got a GeForce dog set dog gears in it uh drive shaft shop 9 in still independent rear that's the oh that's the that's the struggle uh between that and a diaphragm clutch I'm still having a slip in my foot so you're driving the where we made 1485 on the dyo so now that it's dry decked I mean I can go up to 20 if I want and about every PSI is about 50 horsepower in this combo anyway oh my goodness and and it still weighs what an 8 or 851 with a 9 real close he's trying to get that 850 with a zero like he did yesterday you might take that and go with it this little Miata behind me is called the turtle I believe he did his first Dragon Drive at drag we 2019 he's been addicted ever since he's really good in the 850 class uh but he's got some stiff competition like I said Jack St JY did 850 with a zero yesterday and just did a 851 with an8 I don't know what he's done so far but he's really good at 850 I'll tell you that that's a bad that's a bad little Miata it's like probably my favorite Miata ever 855 855 with a two that's not good enough no okay so he did 855 with a two that's not going to be what he want he's probably going to keep coming around and around and around till he gets a 850 with something hopefully with the van body it's been a 95 but before we put the van body got it light enough to go 871 it's a little slower now with the gotcha what's your goal this pass uh okay good one that's a good one but back here pull the transmission out it's like 7 a.m. now we uh we're going to switch the pants mine has a oil temp bu on it and I pulled the pan off the transmission that we were given and it was just like full of metal and stuff oh no and it could have been from the guys transmission cooler or whatever and it's like this probably takes 3 hours to get transmission back in mullet so you know and if it's not perfect mullet will kill it you know mullet will kill whatever's in its way if it's not a perfect part okay so I was like dude I'm not going to just grenade this guy's pretty much I guess already hurt transmission or maybe and then I have you know I have to call him and say hey I also BW yours up so I was like we're done we took it too far you you and now we got some more big boys in the lane we got Tom Bailey in the Durango we've got Lutz in his car and we got the sweds in the esona we only got about 45 minutes left so all of these are probably going to be their last HPS unless they can rush around get it cooled off and get it turned around but uh probably the last hits for the big boys today all right Jeff let's just shook the tire aggressively that time not a good hit 1024 talking about uh he has the record for Dragon Drive ever which is a average of a 619 over 5 days of competition that's insane uh I'm sure also a five would be a great thing to add to the to the list of accomplishments but he really wanted to break that record so so that was the last pass of the day no other cars are going down the track which means we have quite the mixup going on in the field so uh not a lot of the big tire cars had good passes whether it was a bad tuneup or the tire shake or what whatever it was I uh only I think three or four cars got sixes Lutz did a 693 uh Alex did a 690 something Brett did a 629 in the radial so good for him but I think he was pretty much the quickest today uh lot of struggles today I think the Porsche is out he blew up we we'll go over there and check it out but that's pretty much good to do it for uh the racing at the track today for day two of sick week uh now we have a couple two 300 mile drive to Gainesville tonight all the competitors have to do that and and then we'll be racing at Gainesville tomorrow from 9: to 3 or maybe 4: or 5: so we're going to I'm going to walk around see how everybody's doing and then get on the road here in a little bit we have first checkpoint of the night is the motor Enclave uh this is they got like a bunch of garages they have a racetrack this is a pretty cool area for automotive Enthusiast in general but they closed so pretty much we can just go to the sign take your picture with your car and then move on I think they had it open earlier so you can go around there see some of the garages see the track might sit here for a few minutes see what other cars roll through but they've been pretty consistent it's nice that we're on the road in the middle of daylight it's not quite dark yet it's not quite Dark Yet I'm not sure if we have two or three tonight but I'm sure we have at least one more so we're going to get back on the road catch up with some more Racers and taking some more action or the next checkpoint whichever one we find here we go Donuts okay at least we not doing donuts you know what I mean they're going straight they're just trying to burn out or hey yes sir all kinds of stuff here hell yeah all right we have made it to checkpoint number two which is RJ's Wild Wild Wings there's a bunch of race cars here in the parking lot everybody's getting their pictures we're going to get back on the road I think there might be one more checkpoint tonight maybe not but uh yeah hopefully everybody here makes it to gainville tomorrow so we're coming up to an intersection cars are going around another car come up here and there's a racer stuck at the intersection out of gas so we block the road so he doesn't get rear ended right there hopefully that's a batteries and I can Le you get to the town I think we're 60 Mi out 70 something like that not too far not too far well at least get it to the track and if you got to figure it out more tomorrow yeah
