**The Art of Editing and Creating Engaging Book Content**
As I sit here filming for my book channel, I often find myself editing out unnecessary words and phrases that can make my videos feel disjointed and lacking in cohesion. This is especially true when it comes to tangents and ums, which can easily throw off the flow of a conversation. By removing these extraneous elements, I'm able to create a more streamlined and polished video experience for my viewers. In fact, I've found that editing out these kinds of filler words can save me up to 15 minutes of time, making it easier to fit in a longer video.
For example, when I'm filming a book review or haul, I might start talking about the plot of the book and then suddenly find myself saying "um" before getting back on track. By catching those moments and editing them out, I can create a more focused and engaging video that feels more like a well-directed film than a rambling conversation.
Of course, not everyone may feel as comfortable with self-editing and scripting their videos in advance. Some people prefer to just go with the flow and see where the conversation takes them. And that's okay too – it's all about finding what works best for you and your audience. For me, editing is a key part of creating engaging content, but I also recognize its limitations. There's only so much you can do to script out every possible moment of a conversation.
In terms of tips for creating engaging book content, I've found that keeping videos short and sweet is key. My general rule of thumb is to aim for videos that are 10 minutes or less in length. This allows me to keep my viewers engaged without overwhelming them with too much information. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule – if you're doing a book haul or reviewing a particularly complex topic, you may want to make your video longer to accommodate the discussion.
Another tip I would offer is to think of new and exciting ideas for content. As a book channel, I've found that doing the same old thing over and over can get stale quickly. To combat this, I try to come up with fresh ideas and approaches for my videos – whether it's doing a summer blockbuster series or incorporating TV shows into my book reviews. By staying creative and open to new ideas, you can keep your content feeling fresh and exciting.
Finally, I want to emphasize the importance of putting yourself out there and taking risks as a creator. When I first started my channel, I didn't expect to get 1,000 subs anytime soon – in fact, I thought it would take me years! But by working hard, commenting on other people's videos, and being open to new ideas and perspectives, I was able to build a community of viewers who appreciate my content.
I know that not everyone will feel the same way about this approach – some people may prefer to keep a lower profile or focus on building a smaller, more intimate audience. And that's okay too! The key is to find what works best for you and your unique voice as a creator. For me, putting myself out there and striving to create high-quality content has been the recipe for success – and I hope it can be the same for others who are just starting out on their own book channel journey.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone so this video starts off my week of videos these are week of videos that you guys request maybe some more than the others a topic if you can't tell by the title obviously how to become a good booktuber now before I begin I just want to say that um these opinions are strictly my own I'm not saying do these and you'll become a fabulous bookt what do I know I'm not famous I don't get paid or anything like that I just do it for fun and if you have better ideas or these ideas suck that it's totally okay because they are your own opinions so don't take what I'm about to say harshly at all the first thing I recommend tip is read what you like sure a ton of people may love The Hunger Games and but that doesn't mean that you have to love it if you don't like it you don't like it you don't know how many times I've thought that when I read series or books that other people loved and I didn't like I was like it's something wrong with me everyone and by everyone I mean everyone seems to really enjoy this book but I don't I'm I just was like oh crap they're going to hate me I should not review this at all because they're going to throw stones at me um no that's not the case like it no one will rain the hammer of Thor down upon you that's not going to happen it is strictly your opinion everyone has different taste with books you know and I just see this a lot and I feel like this is issue that's probably not brought up a lot it's probably not even a big issue but I mean it was for me because there are some books I didn't like and I was just beating myself up because I didn't want people to think I was awful because I didn't like these books that everyone else like examples of books that I don't like that other people love the gone series I'm try to read that not for me beautiful creatures I'm trying to read that right now who knows I may be like it but I'm just really not liking it and everyone loves it they are in FA series I own it and I like it but I'm not in love with it like a lot of people love it abundance of Catherine's everyone loves John Green by everyone I mean everyone oh you love John Green that person loves John Green oh wait yeah everyone loves John Green I want to love him too it's just the first book I decided to read was one of the books that I don't think it was very Mond so I thought people were going to smite me because I wasn't a John Green lover but I want to be so who knows tip number two be yourself this is probably the most popular um tip advice from anybody because it's probably the most common sense one be yourself when I first started this Channel and you can go back to view them it was kind of boring like I was just I thought I had to be serious all the time and strictly tell you about this book this book is great this book is about people falling in love and dying I was just like and an adonit voice I was just like who wants to listen to that because I I don't I do not people don't want to watch you being stoic and talking about an amazing book they want to hear feel and see your emotions you're being film they want to see how you feel about the book if you love it just love it if you hate it be like I hate I hate it I hate it you know bring out the claw marks or something like that I don't know I don't ever do that but if I did I would do it obviously and I'm doing it right now I guess yourself I am random quirky and weird anybody that knows me know that I am a very random person and I am serious times but not about books I'm very about books I'm always random weird and talking about him completely and I'm sure my husband hates it but that's who I am and I try to represent that on camera because I want you guys to see how I really feel about the books you see is 100% me I'm this weird all the time and if people don't like you chances are you probably don't want them subscribing or watching your channel because they're probably going to say mean things so tell them to get out tip number three edit but edit I mean actual computer editing and editing what you say during the video my first videos are my longest like 15 minutes 12 minutes about one book review nobody wants to watch 12 minutes about a book review I myself have a hard time watching videos of YouTubers I adore for 15 minutes that's just 15 minutes is a great Chun of time for a YouTube video unless it's a book ha I will totally sitay around for a book ha or bookshelf tour but it's a review or a discussion or other things 15 minutes is a really long span of time and a lot a lot of and by a lot I mean all the time and by all the time I mean every single video probably I jump off topic and go off to some random tangent not even about the video I just do that all the time in real life even what am I saying I do that all the time even when I'm just talking regularly not about books or that's just what I do most of the time people don't want to see that if you're going to go off into another Topic in Tangent keep it relative to the video I do that sometimes I think they're relative people probably hate it I don't know but that too and and also by editing this is also a computer you can't really control this a lot of people say ums like so I try to edit those out as much as I can because I do that a lot like this um and um um it um crap what was I going to say um by taking those out you'll save a great chunk of time sometimes when I when I'm filming like this right now and I go take it upstairs to my computer the video could be 15 minutes but I make it somehow 7 minutes that's so I saved a good deal of time cuz I take off the tangents I take off the ums and a sometimes I do like I don't even know what I'm talking about so that happens yeah and by and editing I it maybe just me I really like editing it's probably the photography of me I just do it all the time so I'm used to it and I enjoy it I love I love me a good edited video it's clearcut it looks like it's been directed or something now if you can't do that maybe I'm not even good as I think I am cuz I'm probably not by any means that's totally understandable I say just try to keep your videos short and sweet into the point the most the longest videos I think you should have are probably book hauls and bookshelf tours and maybe a really lengthy discussion every now and then but other than that I say my general rule of thumb is keep it 10 minutes or less tip number four think of new and exciting videos SL idea I struggle with this idea because plenty of a lot of my videos are book hauls reviews wrap-ups and/ tbrs people really want to see more than that at least to me I want to see more than that than a channel because that's just the most standard of a book Channel I mean some people there strictly they just do in my mailboxes or some people just do book hauls that's totally fine me I want to come up with new and fresh exciting content I've done some I'm not good by by any means I struggle with it daily coming up you know it's hard the best people I've seen come up with new ideas and that are really good are ezy books and chapter chicks they come up new ideas constantly and I applaud them for that because I struggle with that all the time new ideas things that you want to talk about I recently started a summer blockbuster Series where I like it it they don't give many views but I like filming it and I love talking about movies that's just me and I love doing other stuff too I love talking about TV shows and I incorporate that all into my book Channel because I feel like it's all artsy and I think that's okay I'm just trying to come up with new content for my viewers to watch number five which is the last tip I will leave you with tears will be shed across the world put yourself out there I didn't always have 1,000 Subs I never thought I would even get to 1,000 subs and did I think I was going to get to it within a year no I thought I was going to be like 50 years okay not 50 years but something like that but I I worked hard I made sure I put new content up regularly cuz worked hard to get to where I was and I watch tons and tons and tons of booktubers and I still do because I love it I always I always commented I always put myself out there I always you know wanted to be a part of that great booktubing community and I'm not even I don't think I've even dipped my toe into the water yet maybe just a little fraction of it yeah I'm not even fully into it sure I know plenty of awesome booktubers but they don't know of me and I'm okay with that because I'm still new I mean I don't expect them to sit and be like man Booka is so great like holy crap do I expect freaking the rebles to say that no El these books to say that no chapter tick no maybe one day I will get there and I will jump with joy for that but until then I will keep working hard and striving to put myself out there because that I think is a great recipe to make yourself a good book Tour all right so those are my opinions on to be a good booktuber maybe they were sucky maybe they were awesome take it as you like it I guess do what you guys like and hopefully this will help out for you new booktubers because you know I wish I can get with some good like quote that makes you reach for the dreams right now but I'm totally blinking so I'm just going to leave you with Nikes just do it you know just do ithello everyone so this video starts off my week of videos these are week of videos that you guys request maybe some more than the others a topic
