A New Firmware Update for the Samsung Galaxy S4: UB MG5
There is a new firmware update available for the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was leaked around 5 days ago. The update, known as UB MG5, has been confirmed by Ranjit from tech.com, who recently flashed it onto his own device using the Ka software. Ranjit had previously experienced issues with the previous update, UB MG1, including reduced battery life and laggy performance.
Ranjit's Experience with the New Update
Ranjit decided to share his experience of installing the new update on his blog. He started by connecting his Samsung Galaxy S4 device to his computer using a USB cable and opening up the Ka software. The current version of his device was listed as MG1, and Ranjit noted that he did not receive an over-the-air (OTA) update for UB MG5. Instead, he chose to use the Ka software to manually install the new firmware.
The Process of Installing the New Firmware
Ranjit explained that the process of installing the new firmware using Ka was quite straightforward. He clicked on the "install" button, and the software began to download the necessary files for the update. The size of the download was significant, ranging from 1.7 to 1.8 GB, which Ranjit noted could take anywhere from half an hour to an hour depending on his internet connection.
The Waiting Game
Ranjit explained that once the download was complete, he would have to wait for the installation process to finish. He noted that this process usually takes around 2-3 minutes, but it could be longer due to the size of the firmware update. During this time, Ranjit had to make sure not to disconnect his device from the computer.
The Update Progress
After waiting for a few minutes, Ranjit checked on the progress of the installation. He noted that the software was stating that the "preparation for Galaxy S4 GTI 9500 firw upgrade will proceed." This indicated that the update was being processed, and Ranjit could now wait for it to finish.
The First Boot After the Update
Once the update was complete, Ranjit's device rebooted, and he was greeted with a new Android version. He noted that this process always happens after an update, as part of the normal procedure to optimize apps and ensure smooth performance.
Ranjit's Thoughts on the New Firmware
Ranjit expressed his excitement about the new firmware update and shared his thoughts on what changes it might bring. He hoped that the update would address some of the issues he experienced with the previous version, such as reduced battery life and laggy performance. Ranjit also encouraged his readers to share their feedback in the comments section if they had already installed the UB MG5 firmware.
Improved RAM Availability
Ranjit noticed an improvement in the free RAM availability on his device after installing the new firmware. The amount of available RAM increased from around 700 MB to over 920 MB, which Ranjit found refreshing. He was hopeful that this update would also improve battery life and overall performance.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Ranjit's experience with the UB MG5 firmware update demonstrates the process of manually installing a new firmware using Ka software. The update addresses some of the issues experienced with the previous version, including reduced battery life and laggy performance. Ranjit's thoughts on the new firmware highlight his excitement about the potential improvements it might bring to his device.
