Greetings to My Beautiful Lovelies: A Review of McDonald's Holiday Pie
Hello everyone, it's Emmy here and welcome back to my channel. Today, I'm excited to share with you my first taste of McDonald's holiday pie, which I discovered recently. It turns out that McDonald's has a variety of seasonal pies, including the fall autumnal pumpkin cream pie and another spring pie that I don't remember the name of. However, they also have a winter holiday pie, which I was eager to try.
As an avid foodie and fast food enthusiast, I've had my fair share of delicious pies from different restaurants and chains. One of my favorites is the apple pie from Jolly Bee, which is fried to perfection and has a lovely mango filling. Another great pie that I enjoyed is from McDonald's Hawaii, where they still deep fry their apple pies. Both of these experiences have left me with fond memories and cravings for more.
So, let's dive into today's review of the holiday pie and compare it to my beloved apple pie. For comparison purposes, I also got an apple pie, which was reasonably priced at $2.49 for two. The holiday pie, on the other hand, comes in a brown box with no specific mention that it's a holiday pie. However, it does have a cute design and rainbow sprinkles on top.
As I opened my apple pie, I was immediately hit with the warm aroma of cinnamon, apples, and pastry. The crust looked lovely, with little perforations where you can see the filling inside. When I broke into the pie, I was delighted to find that it had a nice, sweet apple filling with a hint of cinnamon. Taking a bite, I was impressed by the flaky pastry and the way the filling was evenly distributed throughout.
Now, let's move on to the holiday pie. When I opened my brown box, I was greeted by a sweet aroma that smelled like birthday cake flavor. It had rainbow sprinkles on top, which added a fun touch to the presentation. The crust felt different from the apple pie, with a cookie-like texture and less flakiness. Inside, it had a creamy, pudding-like filling with a vanilla taste.
One of my favorite things about both pies is their warmth. When I took a bite of each, I was hit with a wave of delicious flavors that were amplified by the heat. The apple pie's warm filling really made me feel cozy and comfortable, while the holiday pie's creamy texture added to its birthday-like celebratory feel.
As for my favorite, it's a tough choice between these two pies. However, if I had to pick one, I would say that the deep-fried apple pie is still my top choice. But, I must admit that the holiday pie has won me over with its unique flavor profile and delightful texture. It really depends on your mood – are you feeling cozy and cinnamon-y or celebratory and vanilla-sweet?
In conclusion, I'm thrilled to have discovered McDonald's holiday pie and can't wait to try more of their seasonal offerings. Whether you're in the mood for something warm and comforting like my apple pie or something sweet and celebratory like the holiday pie, there's sure to be a pie that suits your taste buds. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- Greetings to my beautiful lovelies. It's Emmy. How are you? It's great to see you andwelcome back to my car.Today I'm going to behaving my first tasteof a McDonald's holiday pie.I don't know where I've beenfor the last twenty-threeor four years since this piehas been around, but Ihad never heard of ituntil very recently.McDonald's has a holiday piealong with other seasonal pies, which I didn't know of, includingthe fall autumnal pumpkin cream pie.Never heard of that before.I think they have one in springoff the top of my head --I don't remember what thatone is, but they have one.And apparently in winterthey have the holiday pie.I had no idea.I knew about the applepie -- and the apple pie, based on my research, hasbeen around since 1969or so, so that's beenaround for a long time. And I had a very delicious versionin my Emmy Eats McDonald's, Hawaii. If you haven't seen thatversion, incredible.I'll put it -- the link-- to that down below. That, from my understanding,is the only place in the USwhere they still deep fry the apple pies.Absolutely stunning. Delectable.Another fast food pie I hadthat was quite deliciouswas from Jolly Bee.I'll put a link to thattaste test down below. That was a mango pie.Pretty stinking delicious too.And I believe they fry theirs too, because it was just socrackling, fry-y, yummy, good. But today we're going tobe tasting the holiday pie.And for comparison's sake,I also got an apple pie.I have to say these arevery reasonably priced.I got two apple pies for $2.49.So, as our benchmark, let'staste the apple pie first.Ah! I love baked goods!Smells cinnamon-y, apple-y,and that lovely perfume of pastry.Look at that. I pulled itby its edge and it cracked.(laughs)There is the apple pie. It looks lovely. It looks a little bit like a Danish on topbecause it has these little perforationswhere you can see the filling inside. It's mounded. And, since I broke it, that'swhat it looks like inside.Nice apple pie filling.Let's give that a taste. Itadakimasu!Mmm.That's great.I think the number onething it's got going for itis that it's warm -- warm apple pie.A little bit different than a typical piein the sense the crust is almost like...a pastry, more than what I associatewith a pie crust. It's not really flaky. It's definitely gotsome kind of fat in it.It's more short, it'sa little more crumbly. The filling has cinnamon in it;it's sweet...little pieces of apple in there;but mostly kind of agel/cinnamon-y sweet filling. Not overly sweet though. And on the outside of thepastry, there was a little bitof sugar, kind of icing, fora little bit of crunch --in addition to the kindof crunch of the pastry.Pretty stinking good. The deep fried one is even better. That one is utterly sublime, but this must be eaten warm in my opinion.I think that's what reallymakes the experience for me,gives you that aroma ofa freshly baked treatand all that cinnamon and apple flavor --really kind of permeateseverything because it's warm.So that's our little baseline.Let's compare that with the holiday pie.It comes in a brown box,but it doesn't say specificallythat it is a holiday pie.It just says McCafe pie.So let's see this one.Oh, cute.It has rainbow sprinkles on it.Ooh, this one smells really different. It smells like birthday cake flavor.See that?So it's got little bitsof rainbow sprinkles. It looks like that's in the pastry. And then there's a littlekind of sugary icing coatingon the outside of it as well.Let's see what's inside.Look at that. It's like a custard filling. It smells vanilla-y and a little bit eggy.It smells good.It looks like a custard pie.All righty, let's givethat a taste. Here we go.Itadakimasu.Hmm. The filling is really creamyand pudding-like in textureand in flavor, taste likevanilla pudding, but it's warm.Again, the warmth reallysells the pie to me,both in the apple pieversion and in this version. The crust feels a little bitdifferent than the apple pie. This one feels a little less flakyand firm and more cookie-like.It's almost like a sugar cookie, but not as sweet in terms ofa texture and in flavor too.The all-around flavors are very muchkind of vanilla/sugar cookieflavor -- lots of vanilla smelland flavor -- but the insidetexture is really lovely. It's creamy, thick, just like a pudding, vanilla pudding, but warm. And the icing on theoutside gives a little bitof a sugary texture coating. And then you get an occasionalsprinkle in there too.Nonpareil, a little crunch in there, but it works really well.I'm not really surewhich one is my favorite.Okay, if I had a deep fried apple pie, hands down, that would win. Ithink it would kind of dependon what kind of mood you're in.Are you feeling cinnamon-y and cozyor are you feeling vanillabirthday celebration cozy? You know what I mean? Both of them feel cozy. There's also an over-the-topartificialness about this one, which sort of summarizesbirthday sprinkles, doesn't it?So I have one more thing.Have you ever, ever seena mint from McDonald's?Look, \"I'm loving it.\"McDonald's mint containsmilk and soy it says, but I've never seen these.Only at this one location.I will put a link to the locationif you live in Rhode Island.I've never seen thesebefore. Mint's offered.I think it's genius at anyrestaurant in my opinion. But let's see what aMcDonald's mint's like.Look, it's a butter mint. It's one of these kinds of mints. They kind of just dissolve. But I think that's what this is gonna be.Let's give it a taste. Mmm mmm.I love butter mint. Now, I'm not sure if butter mintsactually contain any butter, and I suspect they don't.But they have a reallymelt-away, wonderful texture. It's like chalky, but justmelty, crumbly texturethat just melts and isdairied, but not overly so.I love the texture. It's allabout the texture for me.And then it's got a reallygreat peppermint flavor to it.So it cleanses your palate as well. But for me, it's the texture. It's not a hard candy at all.You bite it and then it just pleasantlydissolves in your mouth.Lovely. So there you have it.See if your McDonald's hasButter Mints available.Never have I ever, right? All righty, my lovelies, Ihope you enjoyed that one.I hope you learned something. And be sure to check outmy drive-through playlistfor other fast food taste tests. And thanks so much for watching.I hope you enjoyed that one.I hope you learned something. Please share this video with your friends.Follow me on social media, like this video, subscribe. And I shall see you in the next one.Toodaloo, take care.- Bye.(Christmas music)I just cleaned my carand now I've got pie shart everywhere.(Christmas music)\n"
