Unboxing the LG V40 ThinQ: A SuperSafTV Review
What's up, guys? Saf on SuperSafTV, and we've got a very special unboxing for you guys today. Here we have the LG V40, but of course, we're doing things SuperSaf style, so not only do we have one, but we've also got all four colors of the V40 as well as the LG Watch W7. Big thanks to LG for sending all of these over and sponsoring this video.
Let's go ahead and get them unboxed and see what's inside. As we open up the box, we can see that it comes with a standard charging cable, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, and a Quick Start guide. The V40 is housed in a sleek black and silver packaging, complete with LG's logo on the top. When we remove the protective plastic wrap, we're greeted by a beautiful 6.4-inch OLED display that takes up most of the front panel.
The first thing that stands out about the V40 is its stunning display. With minimal bezels and a QuadHD+ resolution, this screen is a joy to behold. The colors are vibrant, and the blacks are deep, making it perfect for watching videos or browsing through apps. We also notice that the device has a notch at the top, which houses the front-facing cameras, earpiece, and speaker. LG calls this the "second screen," and it's actually quite useful, allowing you to access important information like battery percentage and time without having to exit the app.
Moving on to the sides, we find the power button on the right-hand side, along with a SIM card tray that has space for both a SIM card and a microSD card. This means that users can expand their storage up to 128GB if needed. At the bottom, we have the USB-C port, primary microphone, and 3.5mm jack, which is great news for audiophiles. The V40 also features a single speaker, but it uses the space inside the device as a resonance chamber to give you some really nice bass.
On the top, there's a secondary microphone, and on the left-hand side, we find the volume buttons along with a dedicated Google Assistant button. This allows users to quickly launch Google Assistant by pressing this button, and pressing it twice will launch Google Lens. Pressing and holding the button will also allow you to do the walkie-talkie command without having to say it out loud.
Now that we've taken a look at the exterior, let's dive into the camera features of the V40 ThinQ. The device boasts five cameras: two front-facing cameras, one primary rear-facing camera with 8 megapixels and an F1.8 aperture, and three rear-facing cameras that work together to provide a wide range of shooting options. The primary rear-facing camera takes great selfies, thanks to its high-quality sensor and advanced software features like portrait mode.
But what really sets the V40 apart is its innovative triple shot feature. Pressing this button once will take a photo from each of the three cameras, allowing users to capture a standard shot, an ultra-wide shot, and a telephoto shot all in one go. The device also features cine shot, which allows you to animate just part of your video footage, giving you some really interesting effects.
The V40 ThinQ is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage (with the option to expand up to 128GB). With its powerful hardware, this device is capable of handling demanding tasks like gaming and video editing with ease. The battery life is also impressive, with LG claiming that the V40 can last up to two days on a single charge.
In conclusion, the LG V40 ThinQ is an amazing smartphone that offers some of the best camera features we've seen in recent years. With its innovative triple shot feature, wide-angle selfie camera, and powerful hardware, this device is sure to please even the most discerning users. And with its sleek design, minimal bezels, and stunning display, it's a joy to behold. So, if you're in the market for a new smartphone, be sure to check out the LG V40 ThinQ – it's definitely worth considering.

Saf on SuperSafTV,and we've got a very specialunboxing for you guys today. Here we've got the LG V40, but, of course,we're doing things SuperSaf style,so not only do we have one, but we'vegot all four colors of the V40as well as the LG Watch W7.Big thanks to LG forsending all of these overand sponsoring this video.Let's go ahead and get them unboxedand see what they offer.Right, so we're going to startoff by unboxing the V40ThinQ.Inside the box, everything is the sameso we'll only open one of them. And we're straightawaypresented with the smartphone. We've got some of thekey features on here.Of course, we'll be lookingat all of these thingsin more detail.Let's put this to theside for just a second. So inside the box, as wellas the device you get somepaperwork, there's aSIM card ejector tool, there's a little cloth as well,an LG branded cloth which is a nice touch. And then we've got thefast charging power brick,so fast charging is supported. And the V40ThinQ also haswireless charging, which is nice. We've got a USB typeA to USB type C cable. And then we get some earphones. And you'll notice thatthese are 3.5 mm earphonesand that is because theV40ThinQ does have a3.55 mm jack, something we're seeingreally little of these days. And this is a braided cable as well, which is really, really nice.Right, now let's get to this device. We've got some plastic. Now the first versionwe've got here is theAurora Black, but depending on the anglethe light hits it, youdo get a sort of bluetint which looks really quite slick. And then we've got theMoroccan Blue color, which has this sort of frosted glass backas opposed to the glossyglass that we've goton the Aurora Black version.I'm definitely digging this look.It doesn't attract fingerprintsas easily as the other one.Next, we have thePlatinum Gray, once againwith this sort of frosted look, which looks very, very slick. And, finally, there's the Raspberry Rose, which, once again, hasthis frosted glass back, which looks really, really nice.I think my favorites have to be theMoroccan Blue and this Raspberry Rose.Very, very, slick indeed. And here are all the differentcolor options laid side-by-sideWhich one you're able to get willvary depending on your market. Now I want you to lookat build and design. We do have a metal frame with glasspanels in the front and back. Now these back glass panels actually curvein toward the sides, so theyfeel really nice in hand. And the V40ThinQ onlyweighs around 169 grams, which is very lightcompared to other devicesthat have a similar screen size.So if you're somebody who wants a largerdisplay, but doesn'twant something too heavy, which might be a littlebit uncomfortable to use, then the V40ThinQ might be for you. We've also got IP68water and dust resistancewhich is great, butlet's talk about one ofthe key features, or shall I sayfive of the key features on the V40ThinQthat separates it apartfrom pretty much anyother flagship devicethat I've used anyway, and that's the fact thatthis has five cameras. So we've got two cameras in the frontand then we've got threecameras at the back. Each of these has a specific purpose,it's not just like one is going to be usedin the background like a monochrome sensoror something like that.Note we have a purpose for each of these. The primary camera is 12 megapixels,it's got optical image stablization, and it's got an F1.5 aperture, which is very wide, Ibelieve that's the widestaperture available ona smartphone right now. Then we've got an ultra-wide 16 megapixelcamera with an F1.9 aperture. This is something that I absolutelylove about LG devices, and it's somethingthat I think LG does better than anybodyelse when it comes tothe wide angle camera. It's so useful having that wide angle lenswhen maybe you're in a small space orif you want to really appreciate abuilding or landscape, absolutely love this. But this time LG haveactually gone a step further. On the third rear-facing camera is atelephoto camera, which is going toto give you two times optical zoom. This has an F2.4 aperture. Now you must've heard me say many, manytimes before that the ideal camera setupon a smartphone will beprimarily a wide angleas well as a telephoto all in one place, and LG have done this with the V40ThinQ.I cannot wait to testthis out in more detail. And definitely let me knowin the comments below whichSuperSaf style cameracomparison you'd like me todo with the V40ThinQ.Now, having the three camerasgives you lots of options.Firstly, you do have a portrait modeso this is where you'regoing to be able toblur the background of your shots. You can also adjust theblur after the fact. But LG have introduceda new feature this timecalled triple shot, and itdoes what it pretty much says. You press it once and it's going to takea shot from each of the cameras. So you'll have a standardshot, an ultra wideshot, as well as a telephoto shot, all by pressing one button. And then we've got cine shot, which isgoing to allow you to take a video, butthen animate just part of that video, and you can get some reallyinteresting effects with this.So those are the rear-facing cameras, but what about the dualfront-facing cameras?Well, firstly, you have aprimary 8 megapixel camerawith an F1.8 aperture, so this shouldbe great for your regular selfies. You've also got a portrait mode fromthe front-facing camera, which is going toallow you to blur the background. And then we've got asecondary front-facing camerawhich is 5 megapixels and this hasa wide angle of viewwith an F2.2 aperture. And I think that'spretty self-explanatory,the situations where you use that,if you want to take a group selfie orif you want to get more ofyour background into a shot, maybe you're in a nice landscapeor something, you're going tobe able to do that with thisultra-wide selfie camera. So those are the five cameras. Now to view all of theimages that you takeon those cameras, you havea very large 6.4 inch OLEDdisplay with minimal bezels. Now you guys probably already know thatI'm a fan of OLED displays. They have deep blacks, very vibrant colors, and good viewing angles. And this display has a QuadHD+ resolutionwith a very high pixel density, which means details are also very sharp. And we do have a notch here which hasthe two front-facing camerasas well as the earpiece. And I know some of youguys don't like a notch, but that's okay because you cancover this within the software.LG called this the second screen. You can have a black bar, graybar, a few different options. And this means you'll stillhave useful informationsuch as your battery percentage and timeall tucked away at the top.Now let's take a look around the device. On the right-hand side, you have the power buttonas well as the SIM card tray. Now this tray has space for a SIM cardas well as a microSD card, so you canexpand the storage in this. You get 64 gigabytes as a base, butthere will be a 128 gigabyte versionavailable to certain markets. At the bottom, we've gotthe USB-type CN port, there is the primarymic, and then we've gotthe 3.5 mm jack, which doeshave a 32 bit hi-fi Quad DAC.Now, of course if you're into audio, that's going to be agreat benefit for you.And then we've also gotthe boombox speaker. So this is a single speaker, but it usesthe space inside the device as a resonancechamber to give you somereally, really nice bass. Now this speaker can get really loud andif you've got it on aflat, hard surface, likea wooden table, thenit's going to use thatto really, really amplify the sound. On the top, there is a secondary mic.On the left-hand side, there are the volume buttonsas well as a dedicatedGoogle Assistant button,so you can press this to launchGoogle Assistant anytime.Pressing it twice will launch Google Lens, and pressing and holdingwill allow you to dothe walkie-talkie commandswithout having to say,\"Okay\" or (mouths \"Google\")every single time.I don't want to set off yours. Now the back there isthe fingerprint scannerwhich works absolutely fine, and you alsodo have facial recognition. Now internally, we do have the QualcommSnapdragon 845 processorwith 6 gigabytes of RAM.So performance reallyshouldn't be an issue. And we've got a 3,300mAh battery inside. This is something thatI'm going to have to spendsome more time with and test out.But as mentioned earlier on, you dohave a fast chargerincluded and you can alsohave wireless charging so it'snice to have those options. And that is the LGV40ThinQ.I have to say, it'spretty impressive how LGhas ticked so many boxes. We've got a big, bright display,we've got five cameraswhich cover pretty muchall of the differentbases that you'd need. It's got a fingerprint scanner. You've got a boombox speaker. You've got a 3.5 mm jackwith a 32 bit hi-fi Quad DAC.You've got IP68 water and dust resistance,a premium build anddesign, expandable memory, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The list really does go on.What do you guys think of the LG V40ThinQ?Definitely let me knowin the comments below.Let me know what other coverage you'dlike me to do with the V40ThinQ.Of course, the unboxingis not finished as yetbecause we do have the LG Watch W7.So let's go ahead and get this unboxed. We are firstly presentedwith another clothto keep it nice and shiny. And the first thing you notice is thefact that it's got mechanical hands.I've not seen a smartwatchwith mechanical hands before,so this will be the firstthat I'm trying out.I'm putting that to theside for just a second. We do get a Quick Start guide. There is the chargingbase, a USB type A toUSB type C cable aswell as the power brick. Now taking a look at the watch, the base is stainless steelwhich feels very, very premium. Then we've got these bands whichyou can change if you like.Let's go ahead and put it on.Now it looks really slick as you can see, kind of looks like anynormal analog watch when itis switched off and that isthanks to its mechanical hands. And it's running Wear OS by Google. On the right-hand side, initially we've got the crownwhich you can use to navigatethrough the different screens. And then we've got this button at the top,and if you press this button, then it's going to move themechanical hands out of the way soyou can see more on your display. And then the bottom button isgoing to launch massive tools. Now this is really where the mechanicalhands are going to come in use. You've got things like astopwatch, compass, timer, barometer, and these will workwith the mechanical hands. So one of my favoritefeatures is the compass. So check this out, now thatI've got the compass on,the mechanical hands now actas the pointer for the compasswhich is really, really quite cool. And for instance, whenyou've got the stopwatch, then the mechanical handsare actually going tomove with the timer.Really, really dope. Now other benefits forthe mechanical hands,of course, battery life.So you usually get aroundtwo days' worth of usagewith this, but the mechanicalhands will carry onworking as normal for a few more days. And if you do decide touse this as an analog watchfor whatever reason, thenit's going to carry on workingfor around 100 days, which is very impressive. So a very interesting take on smartwatcheswith this sort of hybrid designthat we've got on the W7.What do you guys think of the W7?Definitely let me knowin the comments below. If you want to find outmore about the LG V40ThinQor the LG Watch W7, then I'll be droppingsome links in the description below. And I hope you enjoyed thisvideo and found it useful. If you did, do hit thatthumbs up button for Saf SuperSafTV,and I'll see you next time. Now other uses for those mechanic. . .Now other uses for thosemechanical hands. . .Now other uses for thosemechanical hands. . .(exasperated sigh)\n"
