A Message from Josh Vagar at CES 2015
Hello everybody, I'm Josh Vagar from Android Authority, and welcome to our live coverage of CES 2015. We're coming to you live from the show floor, where we have a full team of YouTube creators with us today. Unfortunately, things didn't quite go as planned this year when it comes to Android, but don't worry, we've still got some exciting announcements to share with you.
We Did Get a Chance to Look at HTC's New Phone
One of the highlights from our coverage was HTC's new phone, the Desire 826. As you may recall, we previously discussed the Glex 2, which is another Android device that's been making waves in the market. The Desire 826 also features an Ultra Pixel camera up front, and it shares a similar design language with the Desire Eye, one of my personal favorite designs. I really enjoy what HTC has done in terms of their design this year, and the two-tone color scheme is particularly striking.
The Zen Phone 2: A Nice Option for the Price
We were also able to get our hands on the Zen Phone 2, which is a very nice device, especially considering its price point. There are actually several versions of the phone available, with different specifications and features. The 199 version we saw comes equipped with 1080p resolution and 2 GB of RAM, but some higher-end models feature 4 GB of RAM, making it more comparable to other Android devices in the market.
A Great Experience at Showstoppers
We're currently attending the Showstoppers event, which is another big gathering for media creators like ourselves. The atmosphere is lively, with plenty of food and drinks available, and it's always a treat to meet up with fellow personalities from the industry. We've got Nicole from Mobile Geeks with us today, who's working alongside Edgar from Mobile Geeks in the background.
We Also Met Up with High Deetta and Pocket
Over in the back, we met up with High Deetta and Pocket, who are also part of our team covering CES 2015. It's great to have them here, and I'm sure they'll bring some exciting insights from their experiences at the event.
A Busy Day at CES 2015
It's been a busy day so far, with plenty to see and do on the show floor. We got in a quick visit to Sony, where we saw the Smartwatch 3 with a metal band and Android capabilities, as well as a 4K Bravia-based TV with Android. The Smartwatch 3 is looking pretty great, and I'm excited to share more about it later.
Not Much from Nvidia or Samsung This Year
Unfortunately, neither Nvidia nor Samsung made any major announcements this year, which was a bit disappointing for some of us in the Android community. However, we did get to see some exciting devices from other manufacturers like LG, Alcatel, and HTC.
A Big Thanks from Android Authority
