gold tip pins real nice here's the 40s techniques brandon a little bit smaller led indicators same gold tips on the inside now i'm going to put them in my ears first let's do the az60s and we'll talk about the fit the feel and the look now once you put them in your ears you automatically feel a nice amount of noise isolation they fit nice and snug very comfortable now i'm going to do the head shake test real quick here's minimum shakeage literally no movement intermediate shaking no movement and maximum shaking now no movement now i did switch the sizes on my ear chips so i got the best fit possible here's how they're going to look in your ears yeah i know i hate the pencil style earbuds these look way more sleek now let's do the same thing with the az40s okay i'm gonna slap these in my ears now i will say this i do like the smaller size earbud that is a nice touch but i also like noise cancellation okay so you do have the same amount of noise isolation nice comfortable fit very snug let's do the head shake test is minimum shakeage okay so i decide no movement intermediate shaking okay my hair is flapping around all over the place and maximum shakeage yeah no movement at all and again i do like the small fit here's how they look in your ears now the rose gold kind of matches my complexion nice and discreet all right so let's go ahead and pair these up now for the pairing process real simple once you take the earbuds out of the case you'll see the leds flashing red and blue that means they're in bluetooth pairing mode go to your phone's bluetooth menu and select either the az60s or the az-40s the next thing you want to do is download the techniques music app now this is going to let you customize all of the settings so you got the name you can change that if you want you got your battery percentage for the left and the right you got ambient sound now right now i got a max ambient sound i'm going to turn this off now my voice is a little bit lower okay let's turn it back all the way up to max i can hear my voice crystal clear all right let's get it all the way 100 okay now let's try off okay now when you turn it off you immediately notice the difference now it just feels like i'm wearing regular earbuds let's try noise cancellation okay now just put on max noise cancellation and you got that feeling that whoosh like all of the oxygen sucked out of the room it is super quiet right now all right i feel like i'm yelling let's put okay okay there it is i just put ambient sound mode back on that is crazy okay now you got transparent or you got attention so if you've got little kids in the background you put it on the tension that's gonna focus more on voices so you'll be able to hear a baby crying you'll be able to hear your co-workers talking to you or if you want just maximum transparent you can leave it like that okay let's go back to home you got sound enhancements okay so this is all your eq settings you got bass vocal treble dynamic and of course the floss setting maximum bass maximum highs minimum mids i mid mids i like high lows mid mids and high highs okay so let's exit out of that we'll save that okay that's my custom drop one of these earbuds they're going to pounce you'll be able to find your buds now you can find using location your choice you got to adjust my voice test okay so this will be for phone calls set it up so you have your voice quality at maximum let's go to okay that's the ambient sound sound and settings so you got voice prompts change your headphone name that's the color of your headphones you can add some more so say you happen to have the 60s and the 40s i can add the 40s right now which i'm about to do you got your auto power off i'll let mine's auto power off after 30 minutes okay you got your connection mode now i'm using an android phone so i'm gonna prioritize sound quality with ldac let's get it turned off you got an iphone on and then um you got aac sbc okay now i just said i heard a bring it my is bluetooth connected now we're gonna get maximum sound quality okay ldac let's say you got multi-point now you can't use that with ldacs i'm gonna i should have touched it i should have read that more quickly all right multi-point connection this way you can connect to your computer and then switch right back to your phone just like that okay now let me just let it switch again okay let's let's let's try that again okay oh you can okay no no no all right so if you want ldac you're gonna lose multi-point all right now i'm gonna leave ldac because um i want the maximum noise cancellation you want to go with the az40s but here's the thing let me give my personal opinion i would spend the extra couple of bucks and go with the az60s because you never know when you're going to be on an airplane you're going to be on the subway you're going to be sitting down in the restaurant somewhere which i do all the time when i go out to eat by myself i go to this little spanish spot and they be playing the bachata music in the background i like to put on some noise cancelling earbuds zone out the music and have my drinks and listen to my music alright so noise cancellation is not a gimmick it really works but if you don't care about that and you want to save some money the az40s okay these are some heavy hitters right here all right let's do some more testing one more thing i wanted to mention the app does work for android and ios so if you happen to have an iphone you're gonna get all of the same features all of the same settings okay so the next thing we're gonna test is the multi-point connection now if you notice it does work i got the earbuds connected to an android phone and an iphone at the same time so let's play some music so music is playing on the android phone now let's play some music on the iphone music is playing on the iphone multi-point connection is a go now let's do the reconnection test how long do these take to reconnect to your phone after you take them out and put them in the charging case so if you see on the bottom it says ac60 let's go ahead and pop these out drop him in the case fully disconnected okay here we go one mississippi two mississippi three mississippi okay it said bluetooth connected all right three mississippis that's pretty good now let's do the one earbud test can you play music from one earbud while the other one is charging up in the case all right here we go let's hit play the music is playing i'm going to check out the left side drop it in the case close the case up the right earbud one tap for playing pause also answering and phone calls okay no issues with that double tap to skip to the next song okay triple tap to go to the previous track okay and long press that'll cycle between ambient sound mode and noise cancellation so i'm going to press and hold it it said noise cancellation had a voice prompt now i'm going to press and hold it again voice prompt it said ambient sound now i'm back in the end sound mode i can hear my fingers now for the left earbud same thing one tap for playing pause double tap to lower the volume you see it's going down okay now triple tap to increase the volume you see it's going up and long press for your voice assistant what's the weather for today okay so all of the touch controls work okay so all of the touch controls work exactly the same on the az40 now let's talk about ambient sound mode and noise cancellation now for the az-40s you don't have noise cancellation but the ambient sound mode works perfectly so if you're playing your music at loud volume and you want to have a conversation without taking your ear buds off all you have to do is switch on ambient sound mode and you can have that conversation no issues at all same thing with the az60s the ambient sound mode works perfectly so that'll be great for you in the gym or you're at a restaurant or yet work and you don't want to keep taking the earbuds in and out all you have to do is turn on ambient sound mode and you can talk to people yell your voices if you're outside taking a walk you hear all your surroundings and again put on attention mode if you got little kids and you want to hear more voices now that brings me to the last thing i want to talk about noise cancellation now you know i got three tiers we got trash tear we cancellation okay let's put them side by side real quick now if you look closely yeah these are definitely a little bit smaller okay so if you want the smaller look you're gonna go with the 40s okay let's see how these look back in the case drop them in just like that just like that let's try it again just like that okay az40 and az60 all right so i'm gonna pause the video i'll grab a phone we'll pair these up and then we start our usual testing talk amongst yourselves all right y'all so we back in first let's do a quick size comparison with the az60 and last year's az70 now if you look closely the charging case is a lot smaller which is a good thing so it's easier to fit in your pocket now as far as the earbuds about the same size here's the 60 here's the 70. okay and here's the 40 a lot smaller let's take a look at the charging case plastic techniques branded on the top usb type-c charging slot flat bottom there's an led indicator on the inside simple and straightforward same thing az40 flat bottom usb type-c charging slot led indicator now let's check the magnet strength we'll start off with minimum shake edge no movement intermediate shake edge no movement maximum shaking no movement excellent strength let's check the az40s minimum shake edge no movement intermediate shakeage no movement maximum shakeage ah excellent strength on both of the magnets now let's take a closer look at the actual earbuds here's the 60s you got techniques brandon okay led indicators on each earbud gold tip pins real nice here's the 40s techniques brandon a little bit smaller led indicators same gold tips on the inside now i'm going to put them in my ears first let's do the az60s and we'll talk about the fit the feel and the look now once you put them in your ears you automatically feel a nice amount of noise isolation they fit nice and snug very comfortable now i'm going to do the head shake test real quick here's minimum shakeage literally no movement intermediate shaking no movement and maximum shaking now no movement now i did switch the sizes on my ear chips so i got the best fit possible here's how they're going to look in your ears yeah i know i hate the pencil style earbuds these look way more sleek now let's do the same thing with the az40s okay i'm gonna slap these in my ears now i will say this i do like the smaller size earbud that is a nice touch but i also like noise cancellation okay so you do have the same amount of noise isolation nice comfortable fit very snug let's do the head shake test is minimum shakeage okay so i decide no movement intermediate shaking okay my hair is flapping around all over the place and maximum shakeage yeah no movement at all and again i do like the small fit here's how they look in your ears now the rose gold kind of matches my complexion nice and discreet all right so let's go ahead and pair these up now for the pairing process real simple once you take the earbuds out of the case you'll see the leds flashing red and blue that means they're in bluetooth pairing mode go to your phone's bluetooth menu and select either the az60s or the az-40s the next thing you want to do is download the techniques music app now this is going to let you customize all of the settings so you got the name you can change that if you want you got your battery percentage for the left and the right you got ambient sound now right now i got a max ambient sound i'm going to turn this off now my voice is a little bit lower okay let's turn it back all the way up to max i can hear my voice crystal clear all right let's get it all the way 100 okay now let's try off okay now when you turn it off you immediately notice the difference now it just feels like i'm wearing regular earbuds let's try noise cancellation okay now just put on max noise cancellation and you got that feeling that whoosh like all of the oxygen sucked out of the room it is super quiet right now all right i feel like i'm yelling let's put okay okay there it is i just put ambient sound mode back on that is crazy okay now you got transparent or you got attention so if you've got little kids in the background you put it on the tension that's gonna focus more on voices so you'll be able to hear a baby crying you'll be able to hear your co-workers talking to you or if you want just maximum transparent you can leave it like that okay let's go back to home you got sound enhancements okay so this is all your eq settings you got bass vocal treble dynamic and of course the floss setting maximum bass maximum highs minimum mids i mid mids i like high lows mid mids and high highs okay so let's exit out of that we'll save that okay that's my custom setting now i'm gonna play with some more different eq settings in a minute you gotta find my headphones okay let's try that real quick so let's take these out let's hit sound okay now it's i heard the little voices saying take the headphones off okay you hear that sound okay let me stop the sound all right find my buds that's always a nice feature to have especially if you have a cat when you drop one of these earbuds they're going to pounce you'll be able to find your buds now you can find using location your choice you got to adjust my voice test okay so this will be for phone calls set it up so you have your voice quality at maximum let's go to okay that's the ambient sound sound and settings so you got voice prompts change your headphone name that's the color of your headphones you can add some more so say you happen to have the 60s and the 40s i can add the 40s right now which i'm about to do you got your auto power off i'll let mine's auto power off after 30 minutes okay you got your connection mode now i'm using an android phone so i'm gonna prioritize sound quality with ldac let's get it turned off you got an iphone on and then um you got aac sbc okay now i just said i heard a bring it my is bluetooth connected now we're gonna get maximum sound quality okay ldac let's say you got multi-point now you can't use that with ldacs i'm gonna i should have touched it i should have read that more quickly all right multi-point connection this way you can connect to your computer and then switch right back to your phone just like that okay now let me just let it switch again okay let's let's let's try that again okay oh you can okay no no no all right so if you want ldac you're gonna lose multi-point all right now i'm gonna leave ldac because um i want the maximum sound quality okay now i like doing this kind of stuff in real time so when you get yours you'll see the same thing okay just switched okay so you got multi-point let's see customize your touch sensor now the way it's set up uh out of the factory the right earbud single tap is playing pause double tap skip to the next song triple tap reverse on the left earbud double tap for volume up triple tap for volume down touch and hold for your voice assistant and touch and hold on the right side to switch between your ambient sound mode and noise cancellation now you can customize that at your leisure voice assistant to use let's see our level of background noise okay now i got it on strong okay level of background noise reduction you can put it on normal or strong let's see voice assistant now you do have alexa i'm using an android phone so we're gonna use google or you can just turn that off altogether got your maintenance uh let's see website maintenance tips maintenance notifications blah blah blah all right so this is all in the settings now they work exactly the same with the az40 the only difference is no noise cancellation alright so now for the moment we all been waiting for the sound test now we all know the az70s was crazy but the az60s now we got ldac here we go i got a classic song queued up we got mariah carey we belong together remix i'm going to start off at max volume i got my custom eq set and active noise cancellation turned same thing if you've got little kids put on an attention you get better voice sound okay same eq settings let's do a custom okay this is how i like it just like this behind just like that with his save on the custom all the other features are pretty much the same okay so let's uh turn off noise uh turn off ambient sound okay get it to regular now let's take it back to right now let's do um we it goes oh okay okay just what i suspected right now these pretty much sound the same i would say i would say the az60s do sound a little more high-res but these sound just as good alright crystal clear yo for 150 bucks this is this is a no-brainer right here if you don't need noise cancellation all right if you don't care about noise cancellation you want to go with the az40s but here's the thing let me give my personal opinion i would spend the extra couple of bucks and go with the az60s because you never know when you're going to be on an airplane you're going to be on the subway you're going to be sitting down in the restaurant somewhere which i do all the time when i go out to eat by myself i go to this little spanish spot and they be playing the bachata music in the background i like to put on some noise cancelling earbuds zone out the music and have my drinks and listen to my music alright so noise cancellation is not a gimmick it really works but if you don't care about that and you want to save some money the az40s okay these are some heavy hitters right here all right let's do some more testing one more thing i wanted to mention the app does work for android and ios so if you happen to have an iphone you're gonna get all of the same features all of the same settings okay so the next thing we're gonna test is the multi-point connection now if you notice it does work i got the earbuds connected to an android phone and an iphone at the same time so let's play some music so music is playing on the android phone now let's play some music on the iphone music is playing on the iphone multi-point connection is a go now let's do the reconnection test how long do these take to reconnect to your phone after you take them out and put them in the charging case so if you see on the bottom it says ac60 let's go ahead and pop these out drop him in the case fully disconnected okay here we go one mississippi two mississippi three mississippi okay it said bluetooth connected all right three mississippis that's pretty good now let's do the one earbud test can you play music from one earbud while the other one is charging up in the case all right here we go let's hit play the music is playing i'm going to check out the left side drop it in the case close the case up the right side is still playing okay put the left side back in wait for it to reconnect okay fully connected take out the right side drop it in the case close it up the left side is still playing all right so this is a go you can play music from either earbud while the other one is charging up in the case basically doubling your battery life all right so now let's check the call quality and on the side note amaya's sleeping she got finals tomorrow so i gotta call my girl nobody really gonna have that much wind in your ear she said she could hear the wind but we were still able to talk so if you could talk with that much wind directly in your ear the only way you're gonna have that much wind is if you're riding a motorcycle and talking to the phone at the same time with no helmet on but for your average day-to-day walking around the streets these will be perfect for call quality okay eight microphones on these no problems now i'm gonna call her back off camera and test out the az40s alright so the call quality was just as good on the az40s now let's check the touch controls now the side note you can customize these in the settings but here's how i got mine set up on the right earbud one tap for playing pause also answering and phone calls okay no issues with that double tap to skip to the next song okay triple tap to go to the previous track okay and long press that'll cycle between ambient sound mode and noise cancellation so i'm going to press and hold it it said noise cancellation had a voice prompt now i'm going to press and hold it again voice prompt it said ambient sound now i'm back in the end sound mode i can hear my fingers now for the left earbud same thing one tap for playing pause double tap to lower the volume you see it's going down okay now triple tap to increase the volume you see it's going up and long press for your voice assistant what's the weather for today okay so all of the touch controls work okay so all of the touch controls work exactly the same on the az40 now let's talk about ambient sound mode and noise cancellation now for the az-40s you don't have noise cancellation but the ambient sound mode works perfectly so if you're playing your music at loud volume and you want to have a conversation without taking your ear buds off all you have to do is switch on ambient sound mode and you can have that conversation no issues at all same thing with the az60s the ambient sound mode works perfectly so that'll be great for you in the gym or you're at a restaurant or yet work and you don't want to keep taking the earbuds in and out all you have to do is turn on ambient sound mode and you can talk to people yell your voices if you're outside taking a walk you hear all your surroundings and again put on attention mode if you got little kids and you want to hear more voices now that brings me to the last thing i want to talk about noise cancellation now you know i got three tiers we got trash tear we got okay tear and top tier noise cancellation now i went outside and was sitting in my loud ass car with that loud motor and i'm going to say that these are top tier noise canceling earbuds okay these are top tier these will be perfect for your commute on this train perfect when you're flying on an airplane sitting on the wing perfect for you sitting at a restaurant and there's a lot of loud people talking in the background and people playing music you're going to drown out all of those surrounding sounds alright this is top tier noise cancellation let's go ahead and wrap this up all right so overall on a scale of 1 to 10 i'm giving the techniques az 60s a major major major go now i'm getting ready to do my top 10 truly wireless earbuds of 2021. these are definitely gonna be in the top five now as far as the az40s i'm giving these a major major go and for 149 bucks as bob
