The Thrill of Driving a Bugatti: An Unforgettable Experience

As I sat in the driver's seat of this magnificent machine, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. The Bugatti was a car that exuded power and sophistication, its sleek design and advanced technology making it a true marvel of modern engineering. But what really sets this car apart is its ability to deliver an unparalleled driving experience.

The moment I turned the key in the ignition, the car sprang to life with a smooth and quiet whir. The engine purred like a contented beast, its power and refinement evident from the get-go. As I shifted gears, the transmission seemed to glide effortlessly, the car's advanced technology making it feel like a well-oiled machine.

But what really gets this car moving is its incredible acceleration. With just a touch of the throttle, the Bugatti begins to accelerate with a speed and ferocity that's almost unimaginable. It's not unlike teleportation, as I felt myself being propelled from one point to another in an instant. The car's advanced damping package ensures that every bump and vibration is absorbed seamlessly, leaving the driver feeling completely immersed in the driving experience.

As I navigated the winding roads, the Bugatti proved itself to be a masterclass in handling and steering. The car's responsive and precise steering made it feel like a extension of my own body, allowing me to carve through corners with ease and precision. And yet, even at high speeds, the car still manages to deliver a sense of comfort and refinement that's unparalleled in any other production vehicle.

One of the most impressive features of the Bugatti is its advanced technology. The car's system includes air intakes behind the driver, which provide additional cooling for the engine. The driver also has control over the air conditioning, which can be adjusted to suit their preference. And with the top down, the wind rushing past creates a truly exhilarating experience.

But what really sets this car apart is its exclusivity. With only 2 million dollars and a very limited number of units produced, the Bugatti is an almost mythical creature in the world of cars. To own one of these magnificent machines is to be part of an elite club, one that's reserved for the few who truly appreciate the art of driving.

As I took the Bugatti out onto the freeway, I was struck by its sheer size and power. The car's massive wheels and imposing stance made it feel like a tank on wheels, but at the same time, it still managed to glide effortlessly through traffic. And as I accelerated up to speeds of over 120mph, the wind rushing past created a truly unforgettable experience.

But perhaps one of the most impressive features of the Bugatti is its ability to outaccelerate any other car on the road. According to the manufacturer, this particular model can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 2.4 seconds and reach speeds of over 250mph. And yet, despite its incredible acceleration, the car still feels remarkably refined and comfortable.

The Bugatti's refinement is perhaps one of its greatest strengths. Despite its massive size and power, the car manages to ride like a dream, absorbing even the toughest bumps and vibrations with ease. The interior is equally impressive, featuring premium materials and advanced technology that makes it feel like a luxury sedan rather than a sports car.

As I continued to drive the Bugatti, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at its sheer capabilities. This was a car that truly had it all – power, refinement, comfort, and style. And yet, despite its incredible abilities, the Bugatti is also strangely understated, like a work of art rather than a mere machine.

In short, driving the Bugatti is an experience unlike any other. It's a chance to own a piece of history, to be part of an exclusive club that's reserved for the few who truly appreciate the art of driving. And as I sat in the driver's seat, feeling the rush of adrenaline and excitement, I knew that this was an experience I would never forget.

The End

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell let's just pass these guys on the onramp welome another episode of Jay L's garage you know I never get tired of talking about one of my favorite Mark which is of course Bugatti and I was honored this year when Bugatti asked me to bring this up to Pebble Beach uh so they could display it next to the Grand Sport vitess which was painted the same color this was P veron's racing colors so so that was quite an honor and uh you know the new Bugatti Factory is pretty uh pretty fascinating because they managed to achieve something that even uh back in the day McLaren and another number of other Supercar manufacturers were not able to do and that is sell cars uh you know this new Bugatti is well over a million dollars and you think well how many of those can you sell well they've managed to sell just about every single one they've made and uh they're doing quite well with it because it is probably the most uh complex the most technically Advanced automobile right now on the planet and I think uh their customer base realizes that people are out driving them uh I think they had initial run of 350 I think they've sold 300 verons easy 300 verons think about that McLaren was going to build 300 f1s but they only managed to sell a fewer than 100 that's not saying anything about about the car it's just a matter in terms of uh being able to Market it and sell it and that's really what it is all about well and the interesting thing is Bugatti keeps coming out with new variations new models and that's what we're going to look at today this is John Hill John is the sales director for Bugatti of North and South America correct good to see you John John's been he's always brings these wonderful Bugattis by for me to look at this is the the grand uh Grand Sport vest correct just like the one up at Quail that's correct the this this version was first shown at Geneva this past March and then the first official showing in the US was at uh Pebble Beach and that was a color combination that uh was uh inspired by your type 37 uh this roof comes off right this carbon fiber roof it does lift off yes it does would you like us to do that now um yeah what do you have to do to take the roof off okay uh well it's a two-person job it's not a heavy roof but because of uh the width of the car it it weighs 36 lb so it's a two-person job uh the owners have a mounting rack in the garage so once it's off you I can lift it up and hang it on the rack right and then there's a canvas top that uh we keep under the hood that uh in case you are out and you happen to get caught in Rain you can put that on in less than 30 seconds very cool now if you buy one of these Cs and you want the roof off two French guys magically appear and lift the roof off zika and then the the roof is put somewhere else and boom now the roof is uh it's carbon fiber and polycarbon you can see it's semi-transparent right yeah so uh it's it's not all that heavy and then you have uh your open car now there's also uh with the vest we've introduced another visor that snaps into place here or wind deflector so you have less buffeting and then you can see the the rear deflector here again for people who may be coming to the website for the first time and didn't see the other pieces we did on the Veron let's go over the technical technical aspects of the car okay uh w16 yes it's which is means it's like that yes it's uh slightly offset so you get the W and and it aables enables you to have a shorter block uh it's 16 cylinder uh four turbochargers 8 L uh The Standard Version generates 1,1 horsepower this one generates 1,200 now to get the 1200 horsepower you need more air and more fuel so the the turbochargers are a little bit larger on on this than than the Grand Sport and we've added two additional fuel pumps so four fuel pumps and then larger turbos now with that we actually increase the fuel mileage there's less uh resistance to the exhaust gas so we've actually improved the fuel efficiency with this and the transmission it's a s-speed DSG uh shift point is about 125 milliseconds the the entire body is carbon fiber uh on the Grand Sport It's a combination of carbon fiber and aluminum uh so uh you know that's another enhancement with how many radiators on this car 11 11 radiators on the car and it's uh engine coolant of course oil coolant and then also rear differential uh some other differences on the vest because you know as with the Super Sport you build up even more heat than you do with the Grand Sport so we've had to open up the front end a little bit more uh so if we had a ground sport sitting here you would see smaller openings uh We've also opened up underneath the headlights the Horseshoe Grill is a little bit larger you can also see this Grill wraps around to the side where the side markers are some of that also provides cooling for the brakes and then we've also changed the rear end the the rear diffuser was also uh taken from what we learned with the Super Sport so the rear exhaust and the rear diffuser uh would look the same as on the suport you'll also see that we moved a radiator it's just underneath the exhaust there in the center you know when Bugatti was built in cars he he never had a car that was the best at anything I mean they're all fantastic cars I mean Rolls-Royce had the reputation he built the Royale but that was not particularly successful either he he wanted to sell those to royalty and and he couldn't well and timing was very poor I mean just as the Depression was hitting Europe yeah whereas this this would be almost like a modern Royale it's in the Royale price range but you know it's hard to pin it down it's a sports car when you want it to be because it's the fastest car there is yes and then it's you drive it around town or go out to dinner with I mean it's uh exactly it's pretty amazing yeah it's very friendly I mean we we like to describe it as uh Beauty and the Beast I mean it does both things well yeah well it's uh time to take it for a ride let's meet the man who's going to drive with me because when you have a car like this worth $2 million you don't let this idiot go out by himself Butch how you doing Butch linger how are you thanks for coming thanks for going with us on the drive you do all the drives of these cars don't you yes in in in North America yeah and uh again just an amazing automobile we'll take it out for ride in just a can you really feel the distence between the normal veyon and and the yeah so surprisingly so what they've done they've uh they've actually softened the Springs all around the car which is a little bit counterintuitive you know car people you make it more high performance you stiffen everything up right um but unfortunately when you do that you get a much harsher ride right and the tire need to be in contact with the road and if you stiffen everything up too much you're you're bouncing the ties too much so they've actually softened the Springs but they've compensated that with the shock absorbers and have a much more advanced uh damping package so it actually you don't feel the the lean of of the of the spring and also we have much more direct uh steering response as as you'll see I'm anxious to uh drive this so uh you ready to go for a spin absolutely let's do it okay here's our Bugatti key right right here got to get the whole experience turning on start button is right there how cool is this all I have to do it just touch the throttle you know how if there's ever been a Supercar where this much power is so easily accessible you just you just touch the gas and you go you know there are a lot of super cars that are very fast but for whatever reason there's a a turbo lag or a slight hesitation this this thing just just goes and you know when you're not having your foot in it it rides like dare I say an S-Class Mercedes or something come on let's go for a spin you get the added benefit of having these uh air intakes right behind you because you got your paddle shift right side for up left side for down it's about 100° here in Los Angeles but we have the top down with the air conditioner on we can make our own weather I think this thing could actually make it snow in here if you wanted to pretty amazing automobile you as I like to say the most fun with any car is really between 40 and 120 M an hour and that's where everything happens on this thing just hearing those waste Gates pop off behind your here behind your head here is pretty amazing I generally like a closed car but this is uh this is very entertaining you can hear everything air conditioner keeps you cool it's incred r l fast it's $2 million the ridiculous thing about this car is there's no camera car that you can't outrun so you have to just go slow all the time and then blow the guy's doors up it takes a while to sink in you're driving the fastest production car in the world there is no other car faster or accelerate harder than this at least production car you can buy so you kind of wrap your head around that a little bit so and what a thrill you never get out a second or third gear in this thing you know that let me borrow this once for the weekend I didn't turn on the radio once you don't really need it I know this car is heavy what is it 4,400 lb something like that but carries its weight very nicely nicely you it doesn't really feel that heavy when you drive this car you might guess 3400 something like that but um I can't tell you know it's pretty amazing you have this level of refinement that is just unparalleled it's you know even making a U-turn in this thing most cars you hit some kind of bump stop it you know is the Big Wide Tire is just a little too wide you don't get any of that in this it's really just a Precision automobile let's take it up in the freeway and uh see how she cruises well let's just pass these guys on the on ramp you know it's not really acceleration it's teleportation you feel like you're being teleported I mean you just touch the throttle I mean oh my God I mean it's seventh gear at 80 mph I'm barely turning 1,800 RPM something like that pretty amazing well I just learned something and above a 100 the windows come up automatically so if you go buy a cop and your windows are up he's got you wow that's pretty amazing this is what I call one of those a bunch of times in your lifetime experiences because I've been able to do this a bunch of times uh you know it's it's it's just an amazing experience because what you have here is a Supercar you never have to do anything to except drive it that's that's the part I find fascinating I grew up in the era in the 60s and 70s and 80s where supercars were very finicky things and oh you had to put your foot in it you know to clean out the carburetors or to just get it to run right or would stump this thing just I mean technically it is the space shuttle it's just amazing experience if you ever get a chance to see one to sit in one and to drive one oh my God uh please take it I want to thank John and Ed and of course Butch thanks you guys thanks for bringing these fantastic cars here I love this job we'll see you guys next week\n"
