Samsung Galaxy S3 Coming In June With 2 GB of RAM (for Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon)

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is Set to Launch on All Four Major Carriers in the US

This year's Galaxy S3 is going to be launching on all four major carriers here in the US, which includes Verizon AT&T Sprint and T-Mobile. They announced today that the phone's going to be coming out on June 21st for both Sprint and T-Mobile. Verizon hasn't given us an official release date just yet, but they're already taking pre-orders so expected sooner rather than later. While we haven't heard from AT&T yet, we expect that to change in the near future and really expect them to follow suit with the other carriers launching it sometime in June.

The price for this year's Galaxy S3 has been announced by both Sprint and Verizon. The 16 GB version will be priced at $200 for the two-year contract, while the 32 GB version will cost $250. A $50 difference for just 16 gigs isn't that bad, though, considering how expensive it can get to upgrade from 16 to 32 GB on other phones.

This year's Galaxy S3 is actually very similar to the international version as far as the way it looks goes. The screen size is exactly the same, and you have the same capacitive buttons on the front, along with that same physical home button which was absent in US versions of the Galaxy before this. This is nice to see, especially since we haven't seen any physical home buttons in US versions of the Galaxy S s1, S2 or even the latest models.

There are some differences between the processor used for 4G LTE networks here in the states and those on international versions of the phone, though. Instead of using the more powerful OS 4 quad-core processor like in other countries, we're getting the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core instead. This isn't exactly a blowout compared to some of the processors being used by phones from other companies, but it's still a capable one that should be able to handle most tasks without any problems.

However, Samsung is making up for this lack of power with 2 GB of RAM, which is a welcome change over the international version's single GB. We know how much of a difference a little extra RAM can make when it comes to multitasking and running multiple apps at once. It definitely can't hurt, and it should help with performance in general.

The rest of the features on this year's Galaxy S3 are all the same as those found on international models, including an 8 megapixel camera on the back, a 1.9 megapixel camera on the front, and some nice features like SVO, S Beam, and Smart Stay. The latter technology can detect when you're looking at the screen and automatically turn it off if your face isn't in view.

All four models of the Galaxy S3 are expected to have a 2100 milliamp battery, with each carrier simply branding their version differently but otherwise having the same phone inside. This means there won't be any differences or controversies over which model is "better" than the others - they'll all be basically identical in terms of hardware and features.

Finally, for Canadian customers, it seems that this year's Galaxy S3 will also be available on multiple carriers as well, so no one will be left out. Two colors are set to be released: Pebble blue and marble white, just like the international version of the phone.

carriers here in the US that being Verizon AT&T Sprint and T-Mobile and uh they said to expect it by June now we already know that there's going to be an official June release date for both Sprint and T-Mobile which announced today that the phone's going to be coming out on June 21st Verizon hasn't given us an official release date just yet but they're already taking pre-orders so expected sooner rather than later and while we haven't heard from AT&T we expect that to change in the near future and really expect them to follow suit with the other carriers launching it sometime in June so anyways um this year's Galaxy S3 looks to be priced at $200 for the 16 GB version this is according to both Sprint and Verizon who have already released the pricing information anyway $200 for this 16 GB version with a 2ear contract and $250 for the two for the 32 GB version so a $50 difference for 16 gigs not that bad um honestly I'll probably off for the 32 gig version anyways um this year's Galaxy S3 is actually very similar to the international version as far as the way it looks uh the screen size is exactly the same you have the same capacitive buttons on the front you have that same physical home button which you know before in the US uh versions of the Galaxy we haven't seen any uh physical home buttons where the international versions of the both s s 1 S2 had that home button so it's nice to see that you know we're getting the same type of phone you know worldwide of course there are some differences being the processor to support 4glt networks here in the states uh using the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core instead of the OS 4 quad core so it is a little bit of a disappointment to me to see that we're using the uh Snapdragon here in the United States but you know the snap dragon S4 obviously is a capable processor I've done benchmarks on it and I've compared it to other phones uh in my videos on the channel but again like I said you know that EOS 4 quad looked like it would have blown it out of the water but Samsung thankfully is making it up for us uh here in the US they're giving us 2 GB of RAM instead of one like the international version so that's a plus I mean 2 GB instead of one I don't know how much is actually going to help performance but it should definitely help multitasking a little bit I mean it definitely can't hurt so that's definitely nice to see but as far as all the other you know features and Hardware it's all the same I mean you have the same 8 megapixel camera on the back that 1.9 megapixel camera on the front capable of 720p uh you have the same features like SVO you have S Beam and of course Smart Stay Smart Stay being that technology where the front facing camera detects your face and sees whether or not you're looking at the screen so that way it determines whether or not to turn off the screen cuz you know I mean how many times have you been reading an article online and have to keep pressing the screen to make sure that it doesn't actually turn off so nice to see that there's a technology that's going to be do able to do that for us automatically um all four models look to have a 2100 milliamp battery um obviously they're just going to have their branding on each version for each carrier but other than that I mean all four carriers are going to have pretty much the same galaxies there's not going to be you know the controversy always Sprints version better than T-Mobile's and AT&T's and whatnot so nice to see you know one version for all um also with the Canadian uh models are actually the same as well so that's pretty much it for me this video I mean there two colors for the Galaxy S3 are going to be uh Pebble blue and marble white just like the international version so um I don't know I'm thinking about that white version but the PEB BL looks nice too let me know what you think I mean are you going to get the Galaxy S3 are you going to hold out for the next uh Nexus phone or what are you thinking but anyway leave your comments below um thank you for watching the video and please subscribe if you like this video I'm going to be doing a review on the Galaxy 3 as soon as I get my hands on that going to be comparing it to phones like the Galaxy Nexus and uh you know the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S and uh 5 by the time it comes out anyway that's it for me in this video thank you for
