Apple iPad WiFi + 3G - Unboxing & Activation

Unboxing the iPad 3G: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hello and welcome back to my channel, YouTube! Today, April 30th, I'm excited to share with you the unboxing of the brand new iPad 3G 64GB model, courtesy of Fenex. As you can see from the packaging, the box looks identical to the Wi-Fi only version I already have, which is quite interesting.

As we open up the box, we find that it says "iPad Wi-Fi with 3G 64GB USA" on the bottom right corner, which confirms that this is indeed a 3G model. The packaging also includes a small window at the top, which has a black plastic piece to enhance reception for the 3G signal. This is a clever design move by Apple to improve connectivity.

Inside the box, we find all the usual suspects: the iPad itself, a USB cable, an 10W power adapter, and an instruction manual. However, what catches my attention here is that there's a PIN required to remove the SIM card slot from the side of the device. This is a new feature for me, and I'm excited to learn more about it.

Before we dive into the unboxing process, let's take a look at the comparison between this 64GB 3G model and the Wi-Fi only version. As you can see on the right-hand side of the box, we have the 16GB Wi-Fi only model alongside our new 64GB 3G model. The main difference here is the black bar on top, which serves as a visual guide when using the device.

Now that we've got all the packaging out of the way, let's take a closer look at what's inside. As I mentioned earlier, we have the iPad itself, the USB cable, and the 10W power adapter. The instruction manual is also included, which provides us with important information on how to use our new device.

To activate the iPad, I need to connect it to iTunes first. Once that's done, I can proceed with restoring from a backup of my current iPad. This process should take a few minutes, during which time the iPad will restart and attempt to sync with my iTunes account.

Now that the iPad has restarted, I'm going to skip the syncing process and show you how to register your 3G access with AT&T instead. To do this, I need to go to settings and select "Seller Data" followed by "View Account." My seller data account should be blank at this point, which is expected.

Once my account information is displayed, I can submit all the necessary details, including my private info and preferred data plan (in this case, 250MB for $4.99 or unlimited data for $29.99). The process takes only a few seconds to complete, during which time I'll be shown a message indicating that AT&T cannot process the request.

Luckily, after retrying the activation process, I was able to successfully register my account with AT&T. This means that my data plan is now active, and I can enjoy internet connectivity via 3G on my new iPad!

And that's it for today's unboxing and tutorial! I hope you enjoyed watching this video, and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the section below. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more content, and we'll catch you all in the next video!
