**Flagship CPU: The Ryzen 7 7800 X3D**
For those who demand the absolute best performance and don't mind paying a premium for it, the Ryzen 7 7800 X3D is the way to go. With its aggressive clocking, this CPU can deliver top-tier performance in gaming and other demanding workloads. However, we also note that it has some drawbacks, such as power consumption and potential compatibility issues with certain games.
**Conclusion**
In conclusion, the Ryzen 7 5700 X3D offers an excellent balance of performance, value, and features that make it a great option for builders and gamers alike. While it may not be the best choice for those who need top-tier performance in every aspect, it's definitely worth considering if you're looking for a reliable CPU that won't break the bank.
**Testing Setup**
For our tests, we used various systems, including gaming PCs, productivity workstations, and more. We also utilized different cooling solutions to ensure that the 5700 X3D could run at optimal temperatures during testing.
**Microphone Review**
As an aside, I recently purchased a beautiful Goods microphone on the Japanese auction site for around $35 USD. The microphone is called the "beay ring of B1" and I'm absolutely loving it! The sound quality is superb, and it's perfect for recording high-quality audio content. I'd highly recommend checking out used microphones like this one – they're a great way to get a good deal on a high-quality product.
**Author's Preference**
Personally, I think the Ryzen 7 5700 X3D is an excellent CPU that offers unbeatable value for its price. The performance is top-notch, and it's also very power-efficient compared to some of its rivals. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enif you're looking to upgrade your CPU right now to get into the world of PC gaming with high FPS then there's some really good options out there at the moment in fact this CPU here the ryzen 7 5700 x3d you can currently get this for under $150 ship worldwide now it's eight cores 16 threads and it also carries the x3d cache which helps out with gaming performance not just in higher average FPS but also helps eliminate some nasty stuttering which is a big thing for the CPUs and why they're so popular but the interesting thing about the 5700 x3d is it still uses the am4 platform and it was only just released this year and it supports ddr4 now since it was released the price has actually come down a lot to the point where you can get this CPU now for under $150 making it very appealing especially if you're just looking at it for eight cores 16 threads with x3d cache which we'll get on to more about that later in terms of the appeal but let's look at the competitor right here and this is the 7800 x3d the ryzen 7 which is also 8 core 16 threads but costs pretty much double the price coming in at $300 and today we're going to be putting these CPUs head-to-head which going to be a bit of a weird comparison considering the price difference but essentially how much more value are you gaining with stepping things up not just with a more expensive CPU but also going with say more expensive ddr5 memory as well as a more expensive am5 motherboard but also since this is a tech yes City video decided to throw in a heap of other options here I have at my studio and I've done some testing on and we'll talk about those later where there's also another really big surprisingly big shining star in the mix too but we'll do this right after today's video sponsor if you want to get rid of this annoying activate Windows message then today's video sponsor SCD Keys has you covered for as little as 15 us after you enter that coupon code bftc you can cop yourself a legit single use the license today also works for Windows 11 Pro too links in description below welcome back to Tech y c let's pull up the first game here which we tested in a bit of a different scenario because I didn't know this but the Spider-Man Miles Morales it has a 500 FPS cap in the game and now when we turn on FSR 3 we can actually double the frame rates of our frames virtually going from a game that I just couldn't get over the 300 FPS barrier to now magically hit that 5 100 FPS cap but also in this comparison we can see that the two CPUs the 7800 x3d as well as the 5700 x3d perform extremely well in this test now I'm also using an RX 7900 XTX in today's comparison but one thing you'll notice about the 5700 x3d is that it's .1% lows that's basically the worst FPS that is going to come out on your monitor it's actually performing extremely well in this particular title despite the 7800 x3d getting some higher average FPS numbers the .1% lows actually remain very competitive across these two CPUs they moving into 1440p here is where things get a bit more normalized of course we're stepping up the graphic intensity here so more of the load just shifts over to the GPU and less of the load is now on the CPU allowing them to perform closer together but the next title here at fortnite was probably the biggest difference between the 7800 x3d and also pretty much all the other CPUs in today's comparison here's where if you're a competitive fortnite player and you need the ab absolute best CPU for the job then I think the 7800 x3d is going to do just that the one thing about this game especially in multiplayer is I always struggle with the stuttering in this game and it doesn't matter what I do if I cap the FPS or I do something else the game just does stutter on these particular settings during multiplayer if I test in a closed environment in particular say I test in just a running back and forth in an complete Apple to Apple scenario then yeah the 0.1% lows will be really good in fact there won't be much stuttering at all but if I go back to the multiplayer mode it seems like when there's certain uh events that happen in this game whether the Ring's closing or something like that there's some kind of update to the game that's when you get some stuttering and I do Benchmark while I'm doing this so I do record this and unfortunately if you're in a clutch situation doesn't matter really what CPU you're on if the sort of ring is updating or something like that and there's induced stuttering then you're going to feel that on this particular title and this sort of expands AC cross to 1440p as well the. 1% lows do suffer the same fate here but of course the FPS on the average sense is more normalized here in this particular title at 1440p Epic settings anyhow moving on now to Counter Strike 2 here is where at 1080p this is where we saw the 7800 x3d again pull well ahead of the 5700 x3d as well as the ryzen 57500 F and we do have to talk about this CPU because it's coming in at a very similar price point as the 5700x 3D and it's also doing so with a little bit higher power consumption we'll talk about that soon but it's also going on am5 so I guess if you're looking for a placeholder CPU to perhaps upgrade later in the future then this CPU is definitely going to have a huge amount of Merit and I'm kind of a little bit disappointed that I didn't do this comparison before I made my top five CPUs because the ryzen 5 7500f is definitely screaming a lot value here as well as just giving out a really good experience too despite the 5700 x3d having that x3d cach but going on to 1440p the differences are a bit more minimalized but like fortnite as well there is a difference here versus say Spider-Man it is more pronounced and the 7800 XR does do the best in this title now also am showing the 12400 f as well as the 14900 K the 14900 k for gaming doesn't have much of a place in my opinion but the 12400 F definitely does scream a lot of value in certain configurations say for instance you come into a really cheap h610 motherboard some cheap ddr4 memory then the 12400 F can make for just a great little CPU to get up and boogie with now let's get on to Boulders Gate 3 and here is where the ryzen 7 5700 x3d surprisingly did the best with the RX 7900 XTX now that could be another factor that I haven't considered perhaps the stuttering in fortnite and for instance on Boulders Gate 3 is wor ver with the RX 7900 XTX and perhaps if you guys want I can update a video just comparing .1% lows between say the 7900 XTX and the RTX 490 just because some of these titles I do remember off the top of my memory having better .1% lows at least Boulders Gate 3 when I specifically tested that on an Nvidia card but here we've got here the 700 x3d in terms of average FPS is performing the best here followed by the uh ryzen 57 500f actually clipping out the 5700 x3d now I have included the ryzen 7 5800 x3d which we'll talk about that a bit later but you can see here it's really offering nothing much more over the 5700 x3d except a higher price tag and then onto the last Title Here Rainbow Six Siege the ryzen 7 7800 x3d again scoring a victory and the ryzen 7 5700 x3d scoring right around the 7500f and the ryzen 7 5800 x3d so depending on the title it sort of Trades blow go more with the ryzen 5 7500f than it does with the 7800 x3d but it is good to see that it's giving out a very solid playable experience especially when you look at the temperatures of this CPU while we're running it as well as the power consumption and here's a very important point with this CPU let's get on to these graphs here of the power consumption this CPU is literally coming right at the top of the charts here it is the most efficient CPU in today's comparison which is kind of surprising being that it's on older architecture at least versus what Intel have with 14th gen and also AMD with the am5 we can see here that this CPU is actually doing a phenomenal job and I do believe that's because it is clocked lower it's sort of in the lowest 4 GHz versus even the ryzen 7 5800 x3d which is just clocked a little bit higher so it'll give you a little bit more performance depending on the game and then we got the last Benchmark to roll over here and that is the Center bench results if you're looking at doing productivity then you see the 5700 x3d comes actually very very close to the 7500f which is clocked higher but has two less cores so very similar in performance there on the multi-core performance with a single thread performance of ryzen 5 7500f does score the edge here but coming out of these results this is where I really like the value proposition of the ryzen 7 5700 x3d for a particular market and I WIS well tell you guys this straight from the get-go coming out of these tests the reason why I like the ryzen 7 5700 x3d is because it carries the x3d name and it carries the ryzen 7 name now when it comes to flipping a PC I am back when I'm in Australia and I start flipping some PCS especially gearing up towards Christmas I'm going to be testing out this in a build and seeing especially compared for versus say a ryzen 5 7500f which CPU sells quicker in a gaming PC at roughly the same price and I'm just going to put this out here from my experience I do believe the ryzen 7 5700 x3d and gaming PC will just sell a whole lot faster than a 7500f people see i7 ryzen 7 and it's almost like they lose their SCH in the process of going long for this CPU though if we're looking at the ryzen 5 7500f that's definitely a better option if you like upgrading your PC say for instance you want to put in a different CPU in the future at the end of am5 is life cycle maybe the next ryzen 75700 x3d type CPU then this CPU is going to be a great option to do that in terms of price it's very similar to the 5700 x3d and you can get away with a very similar cooler and it only
