Top 14 Books of 2014! (Part 1)

**Favorite Books of 2014**

If you're looking for some great reads from 2014, you've come to the right place. I'm excited to share with you my top picks for books that were published that year. From contemporary romance to dystopian fiction, there's something on this list for everyone.

**Four by Veronica Roth**

One of my favorite books from 2014 is Four by Veronica Roth. This series follows four characters before the events of Divergent, giving us a unique perspective into their lives and motivations. I loved seeing more of Four's character, getting to know him before he met Tris and understanding his actions better. If you're a fan of the Divergent series, this is a must-read. It's a great way to get even more insight into one of the main characters' minds.

**Island the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins**

Next up is Island the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins, which concludes Anna and the French Kiss trilogy. This book follows Isla and Josh, with Josh being one of the characters from Anna and the French Kiss. The story takes place in both New York and France, offering a charming and romantic tale that fans of Perkins will adore. While it's a bit angsty at times, it's still an enjoyable read.

**Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman**

I absolutely adored Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman, the next book in this trilogy series. This historical fiction novel tells the story of Hitler's niece, who is not biologically related to him but is close family friend, falling in love with a Jewish reporter while uncovering the secrets behind her uncle's regime. It offers a unique perspective on World War II and was just fascinating to read.

**Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson**

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson is another great contemporary novel from 2014. This story follows a girl whose best friend goes missing for the summer, leaving her with a bucket list of things to complete in order to find her friend again. It's a heartwarming and thought-provoking read that explores themes of friendship, self-discovery, and independence.

**City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare**

Finally, I have to mention City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, which concludes The Mortal Instruments series. While it may not be my favorite in the series, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It's an action-packed read with plenty of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. However, some readers may find it a bit anticlimactic at times.

**I Have Some Issues with this Book**

While City of Heavenly Fire was still an enjoyable read, I did have some issues with it. The pacing could be improved in some areas, but overall, it's a great conclusion to the series. If you're a fan of fantasy and adventure, this is definitely worth checking out.

**I Have Read Most Recently - I Have in the Afterlife by Alexander Bracken**

My final favorite book from 2014 is I Have in the Afterlife by Alexander Bracken, which concludes The Darkest Minds trilogy. This series was incredibly well-written, and this book did not disappoint. It's an emotional rollercoaster that will keep you invested until the very end. If you're looking for a compelling read with a strong narrative, this is definitely worth checking out.

**Conclusion**

That's it for my favorite books from 2014! I hope you've enjoyed reading about these titles and are inspired to pick them up yourself. Do you have any favorite books from 2014 that you think should be on this list? Let me know in the comments below.

Ransom Riggs this is the second book in the Miss parag's Home for Peculiar Children series and I don't even know when this one came out but I know it came out this year it's a creepy kind of paranormal series um and what I really like about it is the fact that the author goes and he finds the these like old pictures just cuz he really likes finding them and then he kind of weaves them into the story which is just super unique it's really awesome and this book was so fantastic it reminded me why I loved Miss paragen because it was just so good the characters are so interesting it's just really a fantastic series you just need to jump into it and you will not regret it the next book is we were Liars by E lockart there are a lot of people who don't like this book but I really really loved it I The Twist at the end just blew me away I I kind of was spoiled for it but I still literally balled my eyes out I couldn't even handle it it's really it's kind of boring through the middle but if you get past that then you realize like it just makes it all worth it in the end it's such a good contemporary just go right into it you don't need to know anything it's it's awesome next is fire and flood by Victoria Scott this is the first book in a Trilogy I think it's going to be it's a dystopian Trilogy and it's basically a mix of The Hunger Games and po which is absolutely awesome I really enjoyed this book they just had a cover change for it um cuz the second book is coming out next year and I don't really like the new covers to be honest but what are you going to do um yeah this book was really fun it the only thing I didn't really like about it was there's some elements to it that are really disturbing but it's it's just it's really good other than that and if you've read this book you know what I'm talking about it's just really sad and I don't really like reading about that I don't know it's just I don't know the next book is the one by Kier Cass this was supposed to be the conclusion to the selection series but then Kass announced that she's releasing two more books so they are going to be coming out next year well the one is um not the one but like it's called the air but you know what I mean you knew what I meant but anyway so um this series is basically The Bachelorette but all these girls are trying to win the heart of a prince and it's super contemporary about a girl whose best friend goes kind of missing for the summer she has no idea where she is but she has sent her this bucket list which is on the back of the book and she is trying to complete all these things on the bucket list so then she will be able to hopefully find her best friend it's a very interesting contemporary pretty different um it's not really so much about friendship as much as it is about the main character kind of finding herself and learning to be independent it's very very interesting super well written I just love Morgan mats and she is so so good
