September TBR!

September TBR: A Month of Reading and Learning

As I sit down to write my September TBR, I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised by how much reading I've got ahead of me. With school starting again, my schedule has become quite packed. However, I didn't want to wait until the last minute to share my plans with you all, so I decided to wait until I received my reading list. It's always exciting to see what books are in store for me, and I'm eager to dive into each one.

First things first, I have to tackle three manuscripts that I need to read as part of my publishing and editing practicum. These manuscripts are all part of a book of poetry, which I'm super excited about. The fact that it's 300 pages double-sided means I'll be getting a lot of reading done soon! I know that this is going to be a challenge, but I'm up for the task. Writing letters to the authors and working with them to publish these books will not only help me develop my skills as an editor, but also give me a chance to see the process from start to finish.

Alongside my practicum work, I'll also be reading Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare. This is one of his lesser-known works, but it's actually one of his more popular ones from his time. I have to read this for my Shakespeare 1 course, and since I started school yesterday, I know I need to get a head start on it. I'm looking forward to delving into this play, which is known for being super bloody and weird. It's always fascinating to explore the works of such an iconic author.

The final book that I'll be reading for my course is Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This one might seem like a no-brainer, given the fact that it's one of his most famous plays. However, I still read this one in school when I was a kid, so I know how much I'll love it. Of course, there's always a chance that I might not enjoy it as much this time around, but I'm hoping to appreciate it even more now that I'm older and more into the works of Shakespeare.

While my TBR is packed with school work, I also have some personal reading goals that I want to tackle. The first one on my list is The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, which I've already started reading last month. I managed to get 147 pages into it, but I'm hoping to finish the rest of the book soon. If time allows, I might even try to squeeze in another Brandon Sanderson book, perhaps Stormlight Archive or Warbreaker. However, that will depend on how much time I have available.

Lastly, I want to mention my tentative plan to reread the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Moss. This is a huge undertaking, but if I do end up having the time and energy for it, I'd love to pick up The Assassin's Blade first. From there, I'll move on to Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, The Wayward Prince, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and finally, Tower of Night. If only time allowed for all this reading, right?
