DIY MINNIE MOUSE HALLOWEEN COSTUME - NO SEW

Making a Mini Costume for Halloween

To make this adorable mini costume, we started with an old dress that was already partially made up. We wanted to reuse the shirt again and it looked like so much more finished than before. We glued on some black tights or leggings, whichever you prefer. The shoes were a crucial part of the costume, and we found them at Walmart for just $3. They were originally tan, but we painted over them with yellow acrylic paint to give them a new look.

To make sure the paint didn't get on the bottom of the shoes, we taped along the edge with some painters tape. Once the paint was dry, we added two ribbon bows by cutting out little strips of ribbon and gluing them together. We then wrapped another piece of ribbon around the middle to bunch it up, and glued both pieces together to secure them to the shoes. This gave our mini costume a perfect pair of shoes that looked exactly like miniature versions.

The headband was the final touch for this adorable costume. We started by taking a headband from the Dollar Store and attaching it to a piece of thick paper using glue. Since we didn't have any black paint with us, we used white instead. However, you can definitely use black bristal board and Sharpie to color yours later. To create the shape of the headband, we traced out the curve using a glass or a circle. We then cut out two little circles in the space where the headband overlaps, creating a new shape.

Next, we drew some straight lines on the paper to help us glue the actual ears onto the headband later. These lines would act as a guide for us to bend up the strips of cut-out paper into curves that fit perfectly around the shape of our headband. We then colored ours in and added some black glitter to give it an extra touch of costumey charm.

After coloring, we bent up the strips where they were cut to create a curve that would sit perfectly on the headband. To attach the ears to the headband, we glued a little strip of hot glue along where we wanted them to sit and then inserted the folded paper strips into the glue. This process was incredibly easy and gave us a perfect fit for our mini costume's headband.

Finally, to complete this adorable mini costume, we added some bright red lipstick and drew on a little mouse nose with black eyeliner. The result is an absolutely delightful miniature version of Daisy Duck that looks almost too cute to wear. Whether you're attending a Halloween party or just dressing up for fun, this DIY costume is sure to be a hit.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys this is our Minnie Mouse Halloween costume tutorial video and I came as Donald Duck today Daisy Duck Donald is blue a man that too so I was going to make this anyways cuz I think this is what I actually want to be on Halloween but a lot of you requested it so it's nice when we can collab like that friends so because she is a cartoon character like she's a sketch um sketch uh there's like so many different ways you could do her this is just my personal take on Minnie Mouse so yeah this how we did it so to start with the dress we took a tul or tul a tutu or kenalin white yeah you can find those anywhere around this time of year they just sell like tool made skirts to go under things yeah so we started with one of those and then we took laid it out on a piece of red and black red red and white polka dot Fabric and it's important that um the fabric you start out with Will first make sure that it's big enough to cover how why 2 two is but start out by cutting it into a square this will help you out a lot make it your life easier yeah so once you have your square of polka dot fabric fold it in half and then fold that in half again so now you have a tiny Square so what you're going to do is take a measuring tape and measure the width of your tutu um so that's how wide it is but because our fabric is folded in half just take that number and divide that in half Yeah so basically that's the what the W would be from like the middle you to edge of your tutu like this yeah so take that number and then just literally mark from the top corner of your fabric to like any Center Point and kind of do that in a half circle shape cuz basically we're making a giant Circle it's kind of like you know when you're a kid and you made those snowlakes you would F them and then cut them and then open them up like a circle yeah that that's how it works yeah so draw a kind of curved line along your fabric you can pin it to help you cut it out it's probably a little easier and then just cut along that line and then when you open it it up it's a giant Circle but unfortunately you can't get your waist in that so we then folded it in half from there and you have to measure around where you want your tutu to sit tutu to sit and then you're going to divide that in half well I minus a couple inches just cuz I didn't want it to be loose and I wasn't sure but it ended up fitting anyways so yeah experiment yeah so once you cut that out we're going to cut out an oval using that width measurement so you can see here we're just cutting out an oval and then when you open it up it's all done and then you're going to want to cut a slit in the back just because there's not really my fabric has like zero stretch at all so I couldn't pull that up over me so yeah we need to cut a spit in the back yeah so we cut of spit in the back and you just kind of lay it out over your chu and then just to close it up we just took two safety pins and or you could add velcro or if you want to make it more perent or zipper if you're intense all like that yeah but it really worked out for us you can't even tell the um pins especially because we made a bow yeah so we just took extra fabric that I had long round just a long strip of it and literally just bow like the way you at tie your shoelaces two two bunny ears yeah and then we just kind of played with it till it was lyed nicely and we put a little bit of glue in the knot just to hold it like that and once that was done we just pinned that to the back and it covered like everything yeah it it's cute so the next step to finish off the whole dress we just added a black shirt you could do white if you want if you have red that's awesome do a red shirt as well any that would kind of match the color I would say either do black white or red cuz those are her colors so to make the collar part we just took that middle piece of oval that was in that we cut out from the skirt and cut it in half and you actually have two collar pieces now so convenience I know we just like wo this is amazing it's a nice way to tie in the polka dot fabric instead of just having it here yeah it kind of makes it like look like a whole dress and then we just took and then we just took a little needle and thread and I want to use this shirt again mine but you're just going to do like a couple loose threads just literally to hold it in place and you can totally cut them out later and then you're just going to do it to each of the shoulders as well so that it stays on for the night and you can cut it off later later and reuse your shirt yes so that's the end of the dress part and if you really hate sewing and you don't care about the shirt just glue it on just glue it yeah but we wanted to reuse the shirt again and it kind it's awesome like we can't we weren't even going to do it but it just looks like so much more like a dress finished you know yeah um and then with that we also just paired some black tights you could use leggings or whatever or you could just do it if you want yeah so to make her shoes what I did was I went out or you can take shoes that you don't care about anymore um I got these from Walmart and believe it or not they were on clearance for $3 amazing yeah so I bought those and it's better if you get shoes in a light color cuz they're easier to paint over so mine were started out being like a tan color so I bought some yellow just plain acrylic paint and painted over the shoes I did about three coats cuz the paint was kind of thin if you use spray paint it would work a lot better mhm oh and also that to include um I taped along the bottom of the shoe with some painters tape just cuz I didn't want to get yellow on the bottom but if you don't care whatever the whole thing yeah um so once they dried then we just made two ribbon bows by just cutting out a little strip of ribbon holding it in half and gluing it and then take another piece of ribbon and wrap that around the middle to Bunch it together and then just Glu them both to the shoes and it looks exactly like mini shoes so so cute it really I think it makes it outfit no doubt no doubt all right and to make the headband we just took a headband from the Dollar Store and put it on a piece of thick paper we didn't have any black with us so we just used white for now but you can definitely use black um Bristal board and but we just like use the Sharpie to color ours in later but you take that piece of card and your headband and you put it down and then trace it out trace the curve of the headband yeah and then you take a glass or anything that a circle that you can trace yeah and put it on you're just kind of overlap the headband a little bit because the way her ears go on her headband or on her head I guess um it's a little bit rounded like she doesn't just have two circles kind of a little bit cut off like as you can see cutely cut off yeah so yeah you just Trace them out like that you cut out your two circles in the space um where the cup Circle and the headband overlaps there should be a little like new shape yeah and just draw some straight lines on there and that's what's going to help us to glue the actual ears to the headband yeah so you're going to draw those lines and then cut them into little strips and now this is where we colored ours in and we also added some glue and some black glitter you you can definitely skip that step if you don't want to it really does add something though we weren't going to do the the the glitter at all but then we decided why not and it just makes it look so much more I don't know costumey yeah yeah and then you just bend up those strips where you cut them along so it kind of makes the curve and then really simple you take your headband hot glue a little strip where you want the ears to sit and then you just like put them in place really easy and just push those folded little cut up strips into the glue and it'll literally like make it perfectly rounded and like fit the shape of your headband sit on the headband yeah and then we just did a bow the same way we did before with the piece of ribbon folded in half glued wrap around a piece and then this time we made it a little bit bigger just it in between your ears glue it like that and then to finish off the look we just added some bright red lipstick and I just took a black eyeliner and Drew a little mouse nose on I Google how to do that yeah like the shape and overall I'm going to say it's the best mini costume I've ever seen me too yeah Daisy Duck said so so thanks for watching guys have a safe and wonderful Halloween we hope you enjoyed this video and you can click the link below or the little thing right here we have a Halloween playlist of all our other videos so far that we've made for Halloween because we have a lot from like two years ago last year this year and a big thank you to everyone who left suggestions for us I
