iPhone XS _ XS Max vs Galaxy Note 9 vs iPhone X Battery Life DRAIN TEST

The Battery Life Test: A Comparative Analysis of the Latest Flagship Devices

It seems that battery life has become an increasingly important factor to consider when choosing a new smartphone. The latest flagship devices, such as the iPhone 10s and Samsung's Galaxy Note 9, have been put through rigorous testing to see how long they can last on a single charge. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the results of these tests and compare the battery life of each device.

The Test Results: A Close Look at the Battery Life of Each Device

One of the most surprising results from the test is that the iPhone 10s has now slipped behind in terms of battery life compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 10. Despite having a larger display and more RAM, the iPhone 10s was only able to last 2 percentage points longer than the iPhone 10. However, it's worth noting that this may be due to the fact that gaming and benchmarks are typically the most energy-intensive activities on these devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also showed impressive battery life in the test, lasting almost as long as the iPhone 10s. However, when compared to its own specs, which include a quad HD plus display, it's clear that this larger resolution is taking a toll on its battery life. The oneplus six, on the other hand, was able to outlast the Note 9 by half an hour.

The iPhone 10s, despite its impressive performance in terms of energy efficiency, still fell short of expectations when it came to battery life. However, it's worth noting that this may be due to its relatively smaller battery capacity compared to the other devices tested. The oneplus six and Samsung Galaxy Note 9, on the other hand, had significantly larger batteries.

The Winner: The iPhone 10s Takes the Top Spot

In a surprising twist, the iPhone 10s emerged as the winner of this test, lasting an impressive 12 minutes longer than the second-place device. While it's not clear how much of that improvement is due to the A12 chip's energy efficiency, it's still a notable achievement.

The Results of Each Device in Terms of Remaining Battery Capacity

| Device | Remaining Battery Capacity |

| --- | --- |

| iPhone 10s | 17% |

| Oneplus Six | 3% |

| Samsung Galaxy Note 9 | 6% |

As we can see from the results, the iPhone 10s has a significant lead in terms of remaining battery capacity. However, it's worth noting that this may be due to its relatively smaller battery capacity compared to the other devices.

The Importance of Battery Life

Battery life is an important consideration when choosing a new smartphone. A device that can last for several hours on a single charge is essential for anyone who wants to use their phone throughout the day without needing to recharge it constantly. The results of this test demonstrate just how much of a difference battery life can make in terms of overall user experience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the latest flagship devices have been put through rigorous testing to see how long they can last on a single charge. While the iPhone 10s emerged as the winner of this test, it's clear that there is still room for improvement when it comes to battery life. The oneplus six and Samsung Galaxy Note 9, on the other hand, had impressive battery life, but their larger displays took a toll on their energy efficiency.

A Side Note: Antutu Benchmark Results

The iPhone 10s also scored an impressive 340,000 points on Antutu, which is a significant improvement over the score of its predecessor. This demonstrates just how much of an impact the A12 chip's energy efficiency has had on battery life.

Final Thoughts

In this article, we've taken a closer look at the results of the latest flagship device battery tests and compared the battery life of each device. While there is still room for improvement when it comes to battery life, devices like the iPhone 10s and oneplus six have shown impressive performance in this area. As always, it's worth noting that the best smartphone for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is it we've got five top-tier flagship phones including the new iPhone 10s and new iPhone tennis max welcome to the battery comparison I'm also launching a giveaway to iPhone 10s and one 10s Maddox and is very simple to enter or leave the rules in the description below all right we're gonna be testing five smart phones here the two new iPhones versus last year's offering compared to the best from Samsung and oneplus I'm gonna add in the specifications of each phone and we will talk about how each of these aspects affects the battery life you are getting but to start with just have a look at the battery capacity is the top figure and you will notice interestingly that the iPhone 10 s has a smaller battery capacity than the iPhone 10 this is particularly unusual because this is a more powerful smartphone and yet apple claims it still manages to last longer than the 10 we shall see alright so if you've been keeping up with what I've been doing on these phones I've just pulled up Instagram on all five devices pretty basic but at the same time something that pretty much everyone uses on a regular basis and currently both Android phones are looking like a bit of a joke the Galaxy Note 9 has fallen to 94 the oneplus 696 while all three iPhones are still showing a hundred percent but we've talked about this before we know this is something that Apple does and their iPhones me very well sure 100% but that's unlikely to be true as we switch this up for something a little heavier it's worth noting one more thing the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 came in first place in the last battery test I did but in that test I was using the phone on his default full HD plus for a solution whereas here because we're now competing against a phone like the iPhone 10's max which has a resolution that's well above 1080p it seems unfair to pull the note 9 down like that so that phone is now operating at its full quad HD resolution theoretically it should still last longer its display is actually a tiny bit smaller than the 10s max not to mention its battery capacity about 20% larger but right now it's not looking that way in fact the note 9 is already trailing very far behind the other smartphones as we pull up Papaji you'll notice another peculiarity the earthen tennis max is actually behind the iphone 10 s you would expect the tennis max to last longer sure it's displays larger and resolution higher but its battery capacity is so much bigger it should be able to compensate so maybe this is just variants we see at the beginning they'll correct itself over the course of the test I should also let you know on a bit of a side note that this iPhone 10's giveaway that I'm running I will also be adding three upcoming honor smartphones to it and it's something pretty special you'll find out in about a week's time so if you do decide to enter after watching this video there are six prizes up for grabs now the current remaining levels of battery is showing us an interesting trend with every plus sized iPhone that I've ever tested the plus model or the max model in this case has always lasted significantly longer than the standard one but that doesn't seem to be happening here while of course there's still time in this test for the phone to pull ahead it's clear that it's not in a different league all together at the same time you might have also been paying attention to the note 9 which has been silently slipping away in the background it would seem like this shift in resolution from Full HD + 2 quad HD + has really affected it bear in mind though that we're pitching it against phones which all have good battery life something interesting here after I started running this benchmark you'll notice all three iPhones have dimmed their displays this is a defense mechanism against overheating and every time it was happening what I do is reboot all five phones and then continue the test for a bit of a visual change instead of just using antutu benchmark we're also using 3d mark here specifically the slingshot benchmark which is made for the more powerful phones on the market not going to be an issue here of course and after about 30 minutes of this benchmark it's almost accelerated - some of the results we expect to see for example the tennis max is now one percentage point higher than the 10s and now last year's 10 is slipping behind while that phone doesn't have bad battery life in this group of smartphones we would expect it to run out first alright so all we've been doing is a bit of mild YouTube watching not very demanding on the smartphones themselves but a good test of how efficient the displays are and this could very well be one area in which the iPhone 10s and 10's max are managing to pull ahead of last year's smart phones the iPhone 8 used an LED backlit LCD display but this time around both devices are using Super AMOLED panels which essentially allow black pixels to be turned off as opposed to just lighting them black so this means less pixels need to be on any one time and therefore a little bit of battery life is expected to be saved and this is why you'll find that a lot of phones that come with a miletto or OLED displays often how the dark mode built into them where the menus are black or you might have wallpapers with a significant part of the images black as you now do with the 10s and the 10 s max so we've just finished recording some 4k video on all the phones this doesn't seem to really hurt battery life too much and it's really gaming and benchmarks that accelerates this downwards trajectory the 10s max is now two percentage points higher than the 10s still nothing dramatic but I suppose at this point unambiguously ahead meanwhile Apple's 2017 iPhone 10 is now on 30% or as the note 9 is just behind on 29 so it's probably only a matter of time before the 10 scoots past the Samsung in this race to zero from the 10 the 10s is hardly a polar shift in terms of the specs you're getting you've got the same size display same resolution and a smaller battery capacity not to mention more RAM and yet the 10s is so far ahead of the 10 in terms of remaining battery capacity that it really makes you think the a12 is a massive leap forward in terms of energy efficiency mind you even if you compare the iPhone 10 to Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 while the 10 has now slipped behind if you look at the amount of battery life you're getting per milliamp hour of battery that phone is leagues ahead of Samsung's offering and well the 10's is even better as you can see now the iPhone 10 is on its last legs so we're putting up YouTube for one final last stretch before it eventually calls that a day the 10s Mac still has 17% left which is definitely a fairlead but at the same time means that these phones are fairly close he tied in some past battery tests on the mr. who's the boss Channel we've seen the differences between first and last place as much as 30 percentage points so compared to that all five fans here offer comparable battery life it's not long before the one plus six calls it quits and undoubtedly hot on its heels will be the note nine with only three percent remaining and you might be thinking wait a sec on the note nine versus one plus six battery test the no nine beat that phone by a fair margin what's up in this time round the difference primarily stems from the note nine being set to its full quad HD plus resolution this time whereas the one plus six has the luxury of being a 1080p display Samsung's Galaxy Note nine when at its full resolution is pushing about twice as many pixels and of course that's going to hurt battery so now the Galaxy Note 9 is out too we've just got the iPhone 10's on three percent and a tennis max on nine and it only takes a few minutes of an an to T benchmark for the 10s now to call it a day so the max is the winner but I suppose more interesting than that would be to have a look at the times that each phone managed last and then make some sort of comparative statement also on a bit of a side note you might have noticed that the tennis max is scoring over 300,000 points on antutu and in fact I remember one benchmark I ran it got three hundred and forty thousand that's a whole thirty percent more than ferns with the Snapdragon 845 like the one plus six four ferns with the Exynos 9810 like the note nine alright so in fifth place no surprise to anyone or was the iPhone 10 whilst initially it looked like it was going to give the two android phones a run for their money towards the end of the test the battery life really started to fly off this was then followed by the one plus six which managed to pull ahead especially at the end and last a whole half an hour longer this is what I'd consider good battery life the galaxy note 9 was next lasting a whole three minutes longer than that phone which on one hand is good but on the other hand isn't great because it's battery capacity is about 20% larger than the oneplus and even more so compared to the iPhone 10s speaking of which buffer and managed to last 10 minutes longer than the note 9 which credit we're jus is really really impressive admittedly it started to fall quite quickly towards the end but still even to have a lead at all against a plus-size phone with a four thousand milliamp hour battery is pretty great and as you know the winner was the 10 s max with the time of about 12 minutes longer than a 10 s on one hand that's great the 10 s performed really well but on the other hand this isn't as much of an improvement as you would have expected given how much more battery it has nonetheless that's the battery test and I really hope you enjoyed the
