I got a GTX 1080 Ti for $127...! (July 2023's USED PC Parts Hunt)

I've got a next 99 board here now but I also saw an x299 boards they're getting really cheap so maybe we can look at some perhaps if there's some x299 xeons coming up for sale might be able to get a cheap motherboard where I did go into hard off and I did see one for around a little over a hundred dollars but they wouldn't take the tax off and the guy was being like a real stiff so I was like all right man like okay you know if you just straight off the bat if you're gonna be like that so that way you talk to someone I was just like me and my friend were like nah we're out of here and so that was that so kind of like even though it was even if it was a decent deal I do get put off by if someone's just so stiff at a store in terms of their customer service I don't know if that's just me do let us know in the comments what you guys think about that but I will get the Xeon content coming very soon and in terms of it versus the 10850k and with the 108 50k it's just hard to sum it up but it's like it's got the perfect balance between the ring bus lower core count snap and then it's got that Workhorse with it still having 10 cores 20 threads and when you overclock it and you get that high speed ddr4 memory especially since you're running it at a gear one ratio and so the IMC is running really fast too it's just an absolute Powerhouse uh for what I do and that's just snapping clips into Premiere Pro getting video footage done getting the footage that you guys would want to see and making the videos happen and saving the immense amount of time not waiting around and sitting around on my desktop for things to happen so that CPU is an absolute Beast um just a sec motion hey hey guys hi Elizabeth ah so that guy's that was my pizza um he's just telling me that the pizza is going to be coming a little bit earlier than expected so I'm like yeah man bring that thing in so uh sorry about that little Interruption there but the 10th gen just has the balance there for what I do snapping things in and getting the work done and it saves me time I'm not spending so much time on an idle desktop this CPU I've just sort of honed in on what's best for me and that's the hard thing when we see reviews out there now you're just seeing reviews that a lot of the times really they're just AFK benchmarks and they don't take into account so many different variables and it's sort of it's it's sort of like changed my perspective in the last few months especially after going to computex and talking to people about all this stuff it's definitely changed my perspective on Tech and I I think lately you may have heard from a lot of different creators that Tech's getting boring and is it that it's so much getting boring or is it that naturally inside what we've talked about before with that unconscious ability that humans have or is it that ability that's naturally instructing someone to be bored and that's sort of the thing that I'm sort of starting to say okay no I'm so I'm going to think about this consciously and start weighing it up and start doing tests and so I don't care if people laugh at me or if they tell me it's unprofessional and whatnot when they don't provide any of their own tests or no one out there is doing this kind of testing to begin with anyway but yeah it's one of those things guys where just do what makes you happy and that's what I'm going to get back to and especially that Xeon content it is going to make me happy when I do it for you I just have to order some of them in thanks for reminding me in the comments and so yes I will get back to it I hope that answers that question and also a big thanks to my friend gomon for Lending me his passport that's actually not his real name that's his nickname we uh we've always called him Gomez since we're teenagers and he just heard the name and he loved it and then he found out what it really meant and he was like well I don't care that name's awesome and we're like this it's just this is an awesome name anyway so uh Gomez big thanks to Goma for Lending me out his passport there absolute mad lad and I'll uh I'll catch you guys in another tech video very soon if you've enjoyed this one and you want to see Jack yes content at the moment it drops be sure to hit that like button hit that sub button ring that Bell and I'll see you in another tech video very soon peace out for now bye

The search for a suitable motherboard has led me down a rabbit hole of x299 boards, which are suddenly getting really cheap. The possibility of snagging one at a discounted price is too enticing to ignore, especially if some x299 Xeons become available on the market. My recent visit to Hard Off was a mixed bag, with a decent deal falling through due to the sales associate's less-than-stellar customer service. It's frustrating when you find a good deal, only to have it derailed by a retailer who doesn't share your enthusiasm.

I've been doing some research on the Xeon processor and its balance between ring bus, core count, and snap performance. While there isn't a single answer that can encapsulate all of these factors, the 10th Gen Xeon processor seems to strike the perfect balance for my specific needs. This CPU is capable of delivering high-speed performance while also being efficient in terms of power consumption.

One thing that's been on my mind lately is how our perception of tech can change over time. Sometimes it feels like we're just going through the motions, waiting for something new and exciting to come along. However, I believe that by taking a step back and reevaluating our approach to technology, we can create a more fulfilling experience for ourselves.

It's also worth noting that some creators have expressed frustration with the current state of tech, feeling like it's become stale or uninteresting. This sentiment is not entirely unfounded, as the fast-paced nature of the industry can sometimes make it feel overwhelming. Nevertheless, I'm choosing to take a different approach, one that focuses on personal satisfaction and happiness.

I've come to realize that there's no substitute for hands-on experience when it comes to evaluating technology. Instead of relying solely on benchmark scores or reviews, I'll be taking a more proactive approach by testing and experimenting with different components. This will not only help me make informed decisions but also allow me to engage with the tech on a deeper level.

In light of this newfound enthusiasm, I'll be ordering some Xeon processors in the near future. It's an exciting prospect, and I'm confident that these new components will bring a fresh sense of excitement to my content creation process.

I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to my friend Gomez for lending me his passport. Although it was a bit unexpected, this generous gesture has reminded me of the importance of being open-minded and willing to try new things. I'll never forget the time we were teenagers and stumbled upon an awesome name – it's people like Gomez who make life more enjoyable.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome back to Tech yes City and we are in Tokyo here Parts hunting for used PC pythons and it's that time of the month and I'm joined by my good friend from Australia here Goma who is visiting on a holiday and while you're in Tokyo and you are living here and your friend comes over with an Aussie passport it's time for who Wants To Be A Millionaire you ready I'm ready okay do you a buy him a beer latte C dress him up as an anime character or D by him a beer and use his passport to get 10 off it's gonna be D final answer final answer all right we'll find out right after the break today's video is brought to you by antec and the performance one full tower ATX case supporting the ability to mount up to 400 millimeter gpus in length including all the latest RTX 4000 series cards and having the ability to mount two 360 millimeter radiators simultaneously then there's a digital CPU and GPU temperature readout as well as smart Cable Management covering so even if you're messy with cable management you can still make a beautiful build links in description below to find out more and the answer to that question of course is D because you are going to get a nice juicy discount but behind me here we have a new store that's opened up in Akihabara it's called the Akihabara iyama store and they're on the first floor they've got new parts but then on the second floor they've got used parts and this was the biggest thing that my I caught my eyes as soon as I was going up to the second floor and I took a look up there and the graphics cards were an absolute bust and then when we were looking through more of the pots they had this junk bin that I decided to take a gamble on because I'm like okay they got a lot of different motherboards and some of them have CPUs in them and I decided to buy one for now because I'm going to take it back test it and if it works then I can come back and buy a lot more junk used motherboards but the thing about junk in Japan this is the thing with junk used PC pods there's two types of junk used PC parts the first one is the type that they're just selling to people and they know the stuff is garbage and they're just getting rid of it the second is they legitimately just don't have time to test it they don't care so they just Chuck it in the junk bin I'm hoping it's the ladder but we'll find out hence we're spending only 1600 Japanese Yen will put that up on the screen for you guys in USD which I think off the top of my head would be about 11.50 but uh yeah that's the first deal that we scored however it's time to go move around here check out the next store and see what Bargains we can pick off foreign so now we've just finished up at a place called skumo and I swear every time I come to Tokyo Akihabara I always get deals at this place and this time around we've got three different items the first being a GTX 1080 TI for a roundabout off the top of my head 120 to 130 USD which is really good for that kind of card considering I also got to check the condition of the card before I bought it and I also get a one month warranty not just seven days from skimo one month and if there's any problems I can bring it back and then on top of that they had an RTX 3060 12 gig they actually had two of them for around 230 USD but one of them was really good it looked like it was in good condition but the other one looked like it had been cleaned up really well but if you look closely at the memory pads it's still got a lot of ingrained dirt and dust in it which means in my opinion that it's quite a bad deal so I passed up one of the 30 60s got the other one and then I was telling you guys actually a couple of weeks ago that I was going to get an 11 900k and the good thing about coming to Tokyo you can just check out so many different stores and here's where I found an 11 900k brand new for under 270 US dollars so incredibly happy with these three Deals let's move on with the parts hunt but you're also probably wondering why I'm filming in this arcade and that's because my friend he wanted to play some old school retro games and they've got uh there's a place called super potato and they've got a street fighter they've got some of these other old school games that are just a whole lot of fun and I think USD wise it costs about 70 cents a turn so I guess if it's one thing that hasn't been too affected by inflation it's some of these old school arcade games in Japan welcome so we just got done with buying more and they've got some used parts some new parts and I'm sure you guys have heard this before work with me here the more you buy the more you save but unfortunately that just wasn't the case at this place it was just a bust on both you and used even something like a 7950x they said they slashed the prices but it was still around like 550 USD so I'm looking for a bargain here man um so we just got out of a place called Junk paradise and there's actually a few locations here in Tokyo but it was a bust all round if I went and checked out the CPU prices bust if I went and checked out the GPU prices bust even the old gpus and motherboards were a Boston that there was really nothing good for the money however that being said I'm hoping there isn't a trend that I'm seeing with some of these stores and that is they know there's a lot of tourists so they're just going to jack up the prices on everything hoping that some unsuspecting tourists will be willing to get ripped off but that being said there's also a few more junk Paradise locations here in Akihabara so we're gonna go check them out right now foreign so this is kind of a weird one where my friend was looking for a new CPU and we're looking actually around a few different stores here uh scumo and also soft map and other places and there was this really good deal on a 7950x this is the only place that had it for this price and then they also took the tax off so it ended up being I think a little over 400 USD but that's for amd's Flagship 16 core 32 thread CPU so my friend is definitely going to be absolutely loving this CPU especially for this price and the other thing is one thing about Tokyo is you go around and the good thing about Akihabara you can go around all these different stores and just pick the bargains out from those stores because at this particular soft map there was just like like absolute rip-offs on practically all the graphics cards and all the used parts and all the motherboards there were a rip-off too but then these CPUs were just cheaper than everywhere else so I just told my friend we'll just get the CPU here and we'll go to another place and see what other deals you can get on a GPU and things like that so my friend said he wanted a GPU brand new and I took him to a few different locations after the soft map however we ended up finding him a 4070 TI and this would be our close to 700 USD because he got the tax knocked off and it's also a new model from gigabyte which is a 263 millimeter version so if you guys are looking for something that'll fit in a mini ITX PC and it's a two slot 4070 TI then gigabyte have just launched this model right here that actually looks pretty good and actually after thinking about this 4070 TI I might actually get one for myself because I checked on the net just quickly on my smartphone and I have not seen a 4070 TI this cheap before and this is also a model that will fit in my mini ITX rig 2 and one thing I didn't know about the 4070 TI until I checked recently is it has the same encoding and decoding abilities as the 4090 meaning it's pretty much the best value Nvidia high-end video editing card you can get and it's weird because gigabyte came out with this model that's under MSRP and for me personally is like finally someone is making some of these cards for Mini ITX users foreign so we just got done at junk Paradise well actually two junk paradises and we picked up a bargain at this junk Paradise behind me now let me explain the first junk Paradise because we went into this one and it was CPUs gpus another bus City to the point where you could get used parts at about 10 of a discount of new parts now if I'm shopping for used parts I want a bargain I want at least 25 off that deal right I want at least 25 off that MSRP to even look at a used deal and they're offering 10 off so it's really nothing special going on at that first junk Paradise then we went to the conveni and I gave my friend the authentic Japanese experience you just grab a conveni beer and you can drink anywhere in Japan which is an awesome thing because the beers are super cheap here and you can just drink them anywhere and it's also really hot in summer so we just slam one of them down and then went into this next young paradise and I picked up this 3060 right here which is the same 30 60 that I got if you guys remember I think last year I was picking up deals when the crypto went bust and the thing is it stunk like tobacco just like the previous one but the thing is I already flipped that PC with the 3060 in it and I made a good chunk of profit on it so I'm thinking well this guy's tobacco infested gpus are not only the right price at 214 dollars they're also flipping really well so you may be wondering at this point Brian why are you picking up 30 60 12 gigs you've already got two of them and I'm going to confess to you guys and this is the thing right everywhere I go on YouTube there is people in the comment sections on GPU videos going on about vram vram vram vram there's not enough vram in the new cards we want more vram so I'm thinking well if I'm buying cards to flip in PCS just gonna start start focusing on vram hey guys it's got 12 gigabytes of air ram this 30 60 it's better and it's better than that RTX 3060 TI is better than the RTX 4060 TI because it's got 12 gigabytes of vram and that's the sales pitch you got to go with just follow the flow don't try to fight the trend and to quote the age-old saying if you can't beat them just join them but speaking of joining we are going to go join the next place that sells used PC parts so let's get a move on thank you so we just walked into a PC store called Arc PC and they only sell new PC parts but they also don't really have any good prices on those new PC parts now one funny thing about this store was if you come to Japan guys it's okay to drink on the street and buy say conveni beers but try not to drink in the stores so my friend he didn't know it's his first time in Japan and he walked into this store and uh he just started drinking and the staff members like yo don't drink and I was like oh yeah dude got to finish that thing outside so just a little FYI if you guys come to Japan thank you thank you and I'm now back at the tech yes studio just got back from Tokyo and we picked up the last deal here uh sorry I didn't record this in Tokyo I was just having some fun with my friend we're just we haven't caught up in a while so I was just like well I'll just record this when I go back to the studio and it's pretty late at night but this is the last deal right here 30 60 and we got it for the same price as that previous 30 60 but this was at the last junk Paradise so they had another 30 60 going for 213 USD I think it was and that's a phenomenal price for this card but also we've got that vram drive right now so I'm picking up high vram and video cards that is pretty much the meta I think going forward with flips I've been sitting on say an RTX 2060 Super 8 gigabyte for for months now on one of these flips but as soon as I put up a 30 60 PC gone like instantly so I'm noticing Trends and that is high Irv Ram especially with Nvidia cards they're just selling really quickly and for me personally if that's what people want then I'm going to do my best to find the best deals on that and deliver and that's what we've got right here now also with my friend um we got that 11 900k for myself but when I saw this 7950x I'm just I looked at the price and I'm like that's a flagship AMD CPU I cannot believe it's that cheap so I actually picked up one for myself because I just could not believe how cheap a 7950x is in Japan right now then we got that 4070 TI as well so new parts are coming down just as quickly as the used parts are because I've never seen a 1080 TI that cheap when I looked at the 1080 I'm like really in the condition it was I'm just thinking to myself wow that is dirt cheap but regardless what we've got right now is we're going to push the new parts aside we're going to test out these used parts and see especially that motherboard I'm going to test that out first because I want to see if that junk bin that we checked out straight up is any good or not and then we're going to come back and we're going to talk about of course Tech yes and nomics all that good stuff let's look at the used Market the Outlook and uh see what goes on from there okay I'm a PC store it's the moment of truth are they selling metaphorical junk or literal junk and the answer is metaphorical junk so that motherboard Works absolutely fine that's h81 so my faith in this PC store when they've got that junk bin I'm going to be checking through all those uh 4th gen Intel boards and seeing if they got good prices on them because that's not just a motherboard we also got the CPU there they also had a um a motherboard with a I5 4440 in it too so if you guys are looking for a cheap place to get some old motherboards in Japan Tokyo that that store we went to iyama store looks pretty good I mean we can enter the boss and everything works and here is our first GPU and we're checking the Headroom out here with MSI afterburner on this 30 60 and we got here 150 on the core and over 500 megahertz on the memory I am absolutely fine with that especially for a used car that is some great Headroom and that's the first card let's keep moving through them and look at this one this is the tobacco special and it's got the same good amount of Headroom on memory and core clocks so that's two RTX 3060s with perfect life in them still let's keep it going sorry this Inno 3D was not the tobacco special it was actually this L Elsa RTX 3060 here this is the one that reeks of smoke now the good thing about this one buying this I was 100 confident was going to work because the last one that I got that last year worked perfectly too so that was really good this is another interesting thing though that I didn't even know and something that you guys can know for future reference to is that when I inserted this car the es Elsa it didn't need to install the graphics card at all so it just popped in and what this means is using the exact same V bios as the you know 3D which would mean that you know 3D is sharing the same the BIOS team as Elsa or they're essentially made it practically the same place because it even locked in the same memory uh and GPU overclocks as this inner 3D card so that's interesting to know I didn't I didn't really know much about Inno 3D and and Elsa to begin with but now I know that they're pretty much holding hands when it comes to making gpus and here is the finale the drum roll the 1080 TI which apparently had a fan noise problem and I literally do not hear any fan noise problem at all and I think when I was at the store the guy was really surprised because I pushed my thumb on the fan uh both the fan blades which I do if they say there's a fan problem I'm going to check that straight away just to see if the Fan's loose and then when I when I gave it back to him to buy it he like looked at me like funny like oh you could you could do that with fans I'm like yeah they did they're usually replaceable and you can you know they're sort of like modular in ways so if they're bad you can replace them but anyway bad news is on this card is we've only got 50 megahertz roughly on the core clock and memory however is really healthy and so this generally means two things looking at the box with the X on there that means that I believe it's overclocked from the get-go so expecting a whole lot more out of the core clocks is probably a bit naive on my behalf but then again sometimes you can get usually I find even with OC models you can get especially with 80 manual fan speeds you can get 100 megahertz so it's been my feeling is it's been used heavily for gaming but it's still got a bit of life left in it especially at its default clocks getting extra 50 megahertz on the core clock is healthy so even then it's still pretty good like I'm happy with the deal because it is as I said before the cheapest 1080 TI I have ever seen on the market and it's actually in really good condition so and it looks pretty Schmick so I'm happy but like I kind of wish I'm gonna lie I kind of wish that would go to like plus a hundred but we are now at the finish line with an astronomical amount of good used deals here I'm gonna say I think this 1080 TI deal just trumps everything because I have never seen a 1080 TI this cheap before and they said there was fan noise problems there was Zero fan noise problems and it's a really nice model it's a clean model and it just works absolutely fine but all the other deals the 30 60s we've got the vram Bonanza coming to you and you guys always come to Tech STD for a new meta I've noticed straight away the matter is just high vram and video cards put that in a used gaming PC bang that thing's gone especially with like a ryzen 7 they're they're going for really good prices or an i7 ryzen 7 i7 12 gigabytes 30 60. that's your meta right now you're going to be selling flipping be gone in a heartbeat now also for some of these new deals like wow if you're looking to get a Workhorse the 7950x is going to be a great consideration I'm going to be putting this through I decided Well I'm going to make some tests on latency so you guys want to see that as well as the 11 900k initially I got the 11900k I haven't seen one that cheap ever brand new but then the 7950x I was like ah I'll wait for a used bargain before I give you guys content around the 7950x but after my friend purchased one I was like that that's ridiculously cheap for a new 7950x so that came on board the kitty and then finally we have a normal sized RTX 4070 TI this is 26 .3 centimeters long and it's basically similar size to a 30 60. so that is what gigabyte and all these other companies should have released from the get-go I'm just really surprised it took gigabyte this long to release one but I'm glad gigabytes the first company to actually do it and that's going to fit inside Mini ITX builds like a dream so if you guys have been waiting for a 4070 TI that's not a gigantous behemoth then this thing is going to be the card that you're going to want to look at also we got this right here this was actually a really cool deal that I got used because this store is brand new and there's their junk bins are just packed full of Bargains so today was the first one I wanted to get just the the pilot and that worked out absolutely fine the CPU and the motherboard worked fine so next time I go to Tokyo I'm probably going to bring another backpack and just fill up with a lot of 4th gen motherboards that are going for was it 11 dollars and 50 cents or twelve dollars or something like that so dirt cheap for a 4th Gen motherboard and with all that aside we've got the tally which will run up on the screen for you guys do let us know in the comments section below what was your favorite deal this month but it looks like prices on new and used are just dropping I like I said before I've never seen a 4070 TI that cheap I've never seen a 7950x that cheap never seen 11 900k that cheap and then we've got used graphics cards those 30 60s I got multiple 30 60s at really good deals this month I usually only get one decent deal on a 30 60 or something like that so it was actually really good to see multiple deals of them come up so the Market's definitely changing in favor of the buyer and this is going to segue into that Tech yaxonomics part which you guys love when I talk about that I'm actually going to move this motherboard because it's making a lot of noise and but here it is right now the lowdown what is going on in the markets and it's looking like things are going to Crunch quickly and fast at least if this report that I read about the Bank Reserves needing to go up if that's true I'm going to research that when I'm not so tipsy and I'm going to report back on that but basically from the research that I've seen so far just on the train home and doing my research there I read this report that the Federal Reserve has instructed the largest banks to increase their Reserve ratios and if that's true that basically means in a nutshell that there's suddenly an increase in the demand for cash all else considered that's what that means so you've already got cash becoming more strapped in an economy then you add on top of that another power driver for a demand for cash essentially liquidity and that's when you create these conditions that you saw in 2008 so what you're seeing going forward is a potential for a big crunch very soon especially the Federal Reserve surprised me they raised interest rates yet again when inflation's coming down I would have thought they would have just kept them on hold but they raised interest rates yet again so interest rates have gone up in the US and so that's led to even more restriction in future borrowings and as we know in this debt revolving system those borrowings are everything to keep the economy going especially in an economy that's so dependent on that cheap debt fuel base Fiat money and that's not happening so now what we've got going forward is essentially a massive Crunch at least that's what it's looking like so if you guys have been saving your cash and you've been waiting especially if you've been waiting through all of 2021 2022 for a proper bargain to come up then it's already on the way and it looks like things are going to get even cheaper and a lot quicker too and so if you guys haven't seen I recently did a finance video talking about the implications of this I think the used Market is actually going to be more affected by Price drops than the new market so if you're looking for deals used Market's definitely going to provide that so do stay tuned for that but before I get on out here too one thing I noticed actually a couple of things because there's actually one ironic thing that I noticed but I noticed that there's a lot of like thread rippers for sale this month uh high-end thread rippers like they've just been released I noticed there was a lot of 40 90s for sale there was a lot of 7900 xtxs for sale these were used cards too I've actually never seen a 40 90 that cheap on the used Market where it was going for I think a USD adjusted even with the tax off which I could have got it for this month it's going for a high 1400s but even then I was like well that's not a great deal if you're buying used you want to get a solid deal like I think I said earlier in this video but that being said it still is the cheapest 4090 I've seen but it's interesting to see that there was so many of these higher end new parts for sale on the used market and that people are trading them in and wanting to get rid of them so that was actually really surprising on that behalf so I'm wondering what's going on there but one thing and this is where we're going to close off today's video is I did not see one 10th gen I9 for sale any of the stores I checked whether it was brand new or used so what does that tell you guys about 10th gen it means that people unconsciously know that that is one of the best CPUs out there right now so we did a mic drop meant to close off the video but we got the question of the day here which comes from undertone 2472 and they ask so what about some Xeon testing would a large 18 or 22 core x99 do better in your workflow than the 10850k inquiring minds want that Xeon content so I'm going to first of all say I do apologize to the Xeon audience out there I've got to get back into some xeons I actually one thing that we'll mention in this process is that I never see xeons for sale really in Japan it's actually confusing me a lot so I'm gonna have to purchase some bangers use xeons off AliExpress get them in run some tests especially that I've seen X well I've got a next 99 board here now but I also saw an x299 boards they're getting really cheap so maybe we can look at some perhaps if there's some x299 xeons coming up for sale might be able to get a cheap motherboard where I did go into hard off and I did see one for around a little over a hundred dollars but they wouldn't take the tax off and the guy was being like a real stiff so I was like all right man like okay you know if you just straight off the bat if you're gonna be like that so that way you talk to someone I was just like me and my friend were like nah we're out of here and so that was that so kind of like even though it was even if it was a decent deal I do get put off by if someone's just so stiff at a store in terms of their customer service I don't know if that's just me do let us know in the comments what you guys think about that but I will get the Xeon content coming very soon and in terms of it versus the 10850k and with the 108 50k it's just hard to sum it up but it's like it's got the perfect balance between the ring bus lower core count snap and then it's got that Workhorse with it still having 10 cores 20 threads and when you overclock it and you get that high speed ddr4 memory especially since you're running it at a gear one ratio and so the IMC is running really fast too it's just an absolute Powerhouse uh for what I do and that's just snapping clips into Premiere Pro getting video footage done getting the footage that you guys would want to see and making the videos happen and saving the immense amount of time not waiting around and sitting around on my desktop for things to happen so that CPU is an absolute Beast um just a sec motion hey hey guys hi Elizabeth ah so that guys that was my pizza um he's just telling me that the pizza is going to be coming a little bit earlier than expected so I'm like yeah man bring that thing in so uh sorry about that little Interruption there but the 10th gen just has the balance there for what I do snapping things in and getting the work done and it saves me time I'm not spending so much time on an idle desktop this CPU I've just sort of honed in on what's best for me and that's the hard thing when we see reviews out there now you're just seeing reviews that a lot of the times really they're just AFK benchmarks and they don't take into account so many different variables and it's sort of it's it's sort of like changed my perspective in the last few months especially after going to computex and talking to people about all this stuff it's definitely changed my perspective on Tech and I I think lately you may have heard from a lot of different creators that Tech's getting boring and is it that it's so much getting boring or is it that naturally inside what we've talked about before with that unconscious ability that humans have or is it that ability that's naturally instructing someone to be bored and that's sort of the thing that I'm sort of starting to say okay no I'm so I'm going to think about this consciously and start weighing it up and start doing tests and so I don't care if people laugh at me or if they tell me it's unprofessional and whatnot when they don't provide any of their own tests or no one out there is doing this kind of testing to begin with anyway but yeah it's one of those things guys where just do what makes you happy and that's what I'm going to get back to and especially that Xeon content it is going to make me happy when I do it for you I just have to order some of them in thanks for reminding me in the comments and so yes I will get back to it I hope that answers that question and also a big thanks to my friend gomon for Lending me his passport that's actually not his real name that's his nickname we uh we've always called in that since we're teenagers and he just heard the name and he loved it and then he found out what it really meant and he was like well I don't care that name's awesome and we're like this it's just this is an awesome name anyway so uh Gomez big thanks to Goma for Lending me out his passport there absolute mad lad and I'll uh I'll catch you guys in another tech video very soon if you've enjoyed this one and you want to see Jack yes content at the moment it drops be sure to hit that like button hit that sub button ring that Bell and I'll see you in another tech video very soon peace out for now byewelcome back to Tech yes City and we are in Tokyo here Parts hunting for used PC pythons and it's that time of the month and I'm joined by my good friend from Australia here Goma who is visiting on a holiday and while you're in Tokyo and you are living here and your friend comes over with an Aussie passport it's time for who Wants To Be A Millionaire you ready I'm ready okay do you a buy him a beer latte C dress him up as an anime character or D by him a beer and use his passport to get 10 off it's gonna be D final answer final answer all right we'll find out right after the break today's video is brought to you by antec and the performance one full tower ATX case supporting the ability to mount up to 400 millimeter gpus in length including all the latest RTX 4000 series cards and having the ability to mount two 360 millimeter radiators simultaneously then there's a digital CPU and GPU temperature readout as well as smart Cable Management covering so even if you're messy with cable management you can still make a beautiful build links in description below to find out more and the answer to that question of course is D because you are going to get a nice juicy discount but behind me here we have a new store that's opened up in Akihabara it's called the Akihabara iyama store and they're on the first floor they've got new parts but then on the second floor they've got used parts and this was the biggest thing that my I caught my eyes as soon as I was going up to the second floor and I took a look up there and the graphics cards were an absolute bust and then when we were looking through more of the pots they had this junk bin that I decided to take a gamble on because I'm like okay they got a lot of different motherboards and some of them have CPUs in them and I decided to buy one for now because I'm going to take it back test it and if it works then I can come back and buy a lot more junk used motherboards but the thing about junk in Japan this is the thing with junk used PC pods there's two types of junk used PC parts the first one is the type that they're just selling to people and they know the stuff is garbage and they're just getting rid of it the second is they legitimately just don't have time to test it they don't care so they just Chuck it in the junk bin I'm hoping it's the ladder but we'll find out hence we're spending only 1600 Japanese Yen will put that up on the screen for you guys in USD which I think off the top of my head would be about 11.50 but uh yeah that's the first deal that we scored however it's time to go move around here check out the next store and see what Bargains we can pick off foreign so now we've just finished up at a place called skumo and I swear every time I come to Tokyo Akihabara I always get deals at this place and this time around we've got three different items the first being a GTX 1080 TI for a roundabout off the top of my head 120 to 130 USD which is really good for that kind of card considering I also got to check the condition of the card before I bought it and I also get a one month warranty not just seven days from skimo one month and if there's any problems I can bring it back and then on top of that they had an RTX 3060 12 gig they actually had two of them for around 230 USD but one of them was really good it looked like it was in good condition but the other one looked like it had been cleaned up really well but if you look closely at the memory pads it's still got a lot of ingrained dirt and dust in it which means in my opinion that it's quite a bad deal so I passed up one of the 30 60s got the other one and then I was telling you guys actually a couple of weeks ago that I was going to get an 11 900k and the good thing about coming to Tokyo you can just check out so many different stores and here's where I found an 11 900k brand new for under 270 US dollars so incredibly happy with these three Deals let's move on with the parts hunt but you're also probably wondering why I'm filming in this arcade and that's because my friend he wanted to play some old school retro games and they've got uh there's a place called super potato and they've got a street fighter they've got some of these other old school games that are just a whole lot of fun and I think USD wise it costs about 70 cents a turn so I guess if it's one thing that hasn't been too affected by inflation it's some of these old school arcade games in Japan welcome so we just got done with buying more and they've got some used parts some new parts and I'm sure you guys have heard this before work with me here the more you buy the more you save but unfortunately that just wasn't the case at this place it was just a bust on both you and used even something like a 7950x they said they slashed the prices but it was still around like 550 USD so I'm looking for a bargain here man um so we just got out of a place called Junk paradise and there's actually a few locations here in Tokyo but it was a bust all round if I went and checked out the CPU prices bust if I went and checked out the GPU prices bust even the old gpus and motherboards were a Boston that there was really nothing good for the money however that being said I'm hoping there isn't a trend that I'm seeing with some of these stores and that is they know there's a lot of tourists so they're just going to jack up the prices on everything hoping that some unsuspecting tourists will be willing to get ripped off but that being said there's also a few more junk Paradise locations here in Akihabara so we're gonna go check them out right now foreign so this is kind of a weird one where my friend was looking for a new CPU and we're looking actually around a few different stores here uh scumo and also soft map and other places and there was this really good deal on a 7950x this is the only place that had it for this price and then they also took the tax off so it ended up being I think a little over 400 USD but that's for amd's Flagship 16 core 32 thread CPU so my friend is definitely going to be absolutely loving this CPU especially for this price and the other thing is one thing about Tokyo is you go around and the good thing about Akihabara you can go around all these different stores and just pick the bargains out from those stores because at this particular soft map there was just like like absolute rip-offs on practically all the graphics cards and all the used parts and all the motherboards there were a rip-off too but then these CPUs were just cheaper than everywhere else so I just told my friend we'll just get the CPU here and we'll go to another place and see what other deals you can get on a GPU and things like that so my friend said he wanted a GPU brand new and I took him to a few different locations after the soft map however we ended up finding him a 4070 TI and this would be our close to 700 USD because he got the tax knocked off and it's also a new model from gigabyte which is a 263 millimeter version so if you guys are looking for something that'll fit in a mini ITX PC and it's a two slot 4070 TI then gigabyte have just launched this model right here that actually looks pretty good and actually after thinking about this 4070 TI I might actually get one for myself because I checked on the net just quickly on my smartphone and I have not seen a 4070 TI this cheap before and this is also a model that will fit in my mini ITX rig 2 and one thing I didn't know about the 4070 TI until I checked recently is it has the same encoding and decoding abilities as the 4090 meaning it's pretty much the best value Nvidia high-end video editing card you can get and it's weird because gigabyte came out with this model that's under MSRP and for me personally is like finally someone is making some of these cards for Mini ITX users foreign so we just got done at junk Paradise well actually two junk paradises and we picked up a bargain at this junk Paradise behind me now let me explain the first junk Paradise because we went into this one and it was CPUs gpus another bus City to the point where you could get used parts at about 10 of a discount of new parts now if I'm shopping for used parts I want a bargain I want at least 25 off that deal right I want at least 25 off that MSRP to even look at a used deal and they're offering 10 off so it's really nothing special going on at that first junk Paradise then we went to the conveni and I gave my friend the authentic Japanese experience you just grab a conveni beer and you can drink anywhere in Japan which is an awesome thing because the beers are super cheap here and you can just drink them anywhere and it's also really hot in summer so we just slam one of them down and then went into this next young paradise and I picked up this 3060 right here which is the same 30 60 that I got if you guys remember I think last year I was picking up deals when the crypto went bust and the thing is it stunk like tobacco just like the previous one but the thing is I already flipped that PC with the 3060 in it and I made a good chunk of profit on it so I'm thinking well this guy's tobacco infested gpus are not only the right price at 214 dollars they're also flipping really well so you may be wondering at this point Brian why are you picking up 30 60 12 gigs you've already got two of them and I'm going to confess to you guys and this is the thing right everywhere I go on YouTube there is people in the comment sections on GPU videos going on about vram vram vram vram there's not enough vram in the new cards we want more vram so I'm thinking well if I'm buying cards to flip in PCS just gonna start start focusing on vram hey guys it's got 12 gigabytes of air ram this 30 60 it's better and it's better than that RTX 3060 TI is better than the RTX 4060 TI because it's got 12 gigabytes of vram and that's the sales pitch you got to go with just follow the flow don't try to fight the trend and to quote the age-old saying if you can't beat them just join them but speaking of joining we are going to go join the next place that sells used PC parts so let's get a move on thank you so we just walked into a PC store called Arc PC and they only sell new PC parts but they also don't really have any good prices on those new PC parts now one funny thing about this store was if you come to Japan guys it's okay to drink on the street and buy say conveni beers but try not to drink in the stores so my friend he didn't know it's his first time in Japan and he walked into this store and uh he just started drinking and the staff members like yo don't drink and I was like oh yeah dude got to finish that thing outside so just a little FYI if you guys come to Japan thank you thank you and I'm now back at the tech yes studio just got back from Tokyo and we picked up the last deal here uh sorry I didn't record this in Tokyo I was just having some fun with my friend we're just we haven't caught up in a while so I was just like well I'll just record this when I go back to the studio and it's pretty late at night but this is the last deal right here 30 60 and we got it for the same price as that previous 30 60 but this was at the last junk Paradise so they had another 30 60 going for 213 USD I think it was and that's a phenomenal price for this card but also we've got that vram drive right now so I'm picking up high vram and video cards that is pretty much the meta I think going forward with flips I've been sitting on say an RTX 2060 Super 8 gigabyte for for months now on one of these flips but as soon as I put up a 30 60 PC gone like instantly so I'm noticing Trends and that is high Irv Ram especially with Nvidia cards they're just selling really quickly and for me personally if that's what people want then I'm going to do my best to find the best deals on that and deliver and that's what we've got right here now also with my friend um we got that 11 900k for myself but when I saw this 7950x I'm just I looked at the price and I'm like that's a flagship AMD CPU I cannot believe it's that cheap so I actually picked up one for myself because I just could not believe how cheap a 7950x is in Japan right now then we got that 4070 TI as well so new parts are coming down just as quickly as the used parts are because I've never seen a 1080 TI that cheap when I looked at the 1080 I'm like really in the condition it was I'm just thinking to myself wow that is dirt cheap but regardless what we've got right now is we're going to push the new parts aside we're going to test out these used parts and see especially that motherboard I'm going to test that out first because I want to see if that junk bin that we checked out straight up is any good or not and then we're going to come back and we're going to talk about of course Tech yes and nomics all that good stuff let's look at the used Market the Outlook and uh see what goes on from there okay I'm a PC store it's the moment of truth are they selling metaphorical junk or literal junk and the answer is metaphorical junk so that motherboard Works absolutely fine that's h81 so my faith in this PC store when they've got that junk bin I'm going to be checking through all those uh 4th gen Intel boards and seeing if they got good prices on them because that's not just a motherboard we also got the CPU there they also had a um a motherboard with a I5 4440 in it too so if you guys are looking for a cheap place to get some old motherboards in Japan Tokyo that that store we went to iyama store looks pretty good I mean we can enter the boss and everything works and here is our first GPU and we're checking the Headroom out here with MSI afterburner on this 30 60 and we got here 150 on the core and over 500 megahertz on the memory I am absolutely fine with that especially for a used car that is some great Headroom and that's the first card let's keep moving through them and look at this one this is the tobacco special and it's got the same good amount of Headroom on memory and core clocks so that's two RTX 3060s with perfect life in them still let's keep it going sorry this Inno 3D was not the tobacco special it was actually this L Elsa RTX 3060 here this is the one that reeks of smoke now the good thing about this one buying this I was 100 confident was going to work because the last one that I got that last year worked perfectly too so that was really good this is another interesting thing though that I didn't even know and something that you guys can know for future reference to is that when I inserted this car the es Elsa it didn't need to install the graphics card at all so it just popped in and what this means is using the exact same V bios as the you know 3D which would mean that you know 3D is sharing the same the BIOS team as Elsa or they're essentially made it practically the same place because it even locked in the same memory uh and GPU overclocks as this inner 3D card so that's interesting to know I didn't I didn't really know much about Inno 3D and and Elsa to begin with but now I know that they're pretty much holding hands when it comes to making gpus and here is the finale the drum roll the 1080 TI which apparently had a fan noise problem and I literally do not hear any fan noise problem at all and I think when I was at the store the guy was really surprised because I pushed my thumb on the fan uh both the fan blades which I do if they say there's a fan problem I'm going to check that straight away just to see if the Fan's loose and then when I when I gave it back to him to buy it he like looked at me like funny like oh you could you could do that with fans I'm like yeah they did they're usually replaceable and you can you know they're sort of like modular in ways so if they're bad you can replace them but anyway bad news is on this card is we've only got 50 megahertz roughly on the core clock and memory however is really healthy and so this generally means two things looking at the box with the X on there that means that I believe it's overclocked from the get-go so expecting a whole lot more out of the core clocks is probably a bit naive on my behalf but then again sometimes you can get usually I find even with OC models you can get especially with 80 manual fan speeds you can get 100 megahertz so it's been my feeling is it's been used heavily for gaming but it's still got a bit of life left in it especially at its default clocks getting extra 50 megahertz on the core clock is healthy so even then it's still pretty good like I'm happy with the deal because it is as I said before the cheapest 1080 TI I have ever seen on the market and it's actually in really good condition so and it looks pretty Schmick so I'm happy but like I kind of wish I'm gonna lie I kind of wish that would go to like plus a hundred but we are now at the finish line with an astronomical amount of good used deals here I'm gonna say I think this 1080 TI deal just trumps everything because I have never seen a 1080 TI this cheap before and they said there was fan noise problems there was Zero fan noise problems and it's a really nice model it's a clean model and it just works absolutely fine but all the other deals the 30 60s we've got the vram Bonanza coming to you and you guys always come to Tech STD for a new meta I've noticed straight away the matter is just high vram and video cards put that in a used gaming PC bang that thing's gone especially with like a ryzen 7 they're they're going for really good prices or an i7 ryzen 7 i7 12 gigabytes 30 60. that's your meta right now you're going to be selling flipping be gone in a heartbeat now also for some of these new deals like wow if you're looking to get a Workhorse the 7950x is going to be a great consideration I'm going to be putting this through I decided Well I'm going to make some tests on latency so you guys want to see that as well as the 11 900k initially I got the 11900k I haven't seen one that cheap ever brand new but then the 7950x I was like ah I'll wait for a used bargain before I give you guys content around the 7950x but after my friend purchased one I was like that that's ridiculously cheap for a new 7950x so that came on board the kitty and then finally we have a normal sized RTX 4070 TI this is 26 .3 centimeters long and it's basically similar size to a 30 60. so that is what gigabyte and all these other companies should have released from the get-go I'm just really surprised it took gigabyte this long to release one but I'm glad gigabytes the first company to actually do it and that's going to fit inside Mini ITX builds like a dream so if you guys have been waiting for a 4070 TI that's not a gigantous behemoth then this thing is going to be the card that you're going to want to look at also we got this right here this was actually a really cool deal that I got used because this store is brand new and there's their junk bins are just packed full of Bargains so today was the first one I wanted to get just the the pilot and that worked out absolutely fine the CPU and the motherboard worked fine so next time I go to Tokyo I'm probably going to bring another backpack and just fill up with a lot of 4th gen motherboards that are going for was it 11 dollars and 50 cents or twelve dollars or something like that so dirt cheap for a 4th Gen motherboard and with all that aside we've got the tally which will run up on the screen for you guys do let us know in the comments section below what was your favorite deal this month but it looks like prices on new and used are just dropping I like I said before I've never seen a 4070 TI that cheap I've never seen a 7950x that cheap never seen 11 900k that cheap and then we've got used graphics cards those 30 60s I got multiple 30 60s at really good deals this month I usually only get one decent deal on a 30 60 or something like that so it was actually really good to see multiple deals of them come up so the Market's definitely changing in favor of the buyer and this is going to segue into that Tech yaxonomics part which you guys love when I talk about that I'm actually going to move this motherboard because it's making a lot of noise and but here it is right now the lowdown what is going on in the markets and it's looking like things are going to Crunch quickly and fast at least if this report that I read about the Bank Reserves needing to go up if that's true I'm going to research that when I'm not so tipsy and I'm going to report back on that but basically from the research that I've seen so far just on the train home and doing my research there I read this report that the Federal Reserve has instructed the largest banks to increase their Reserve ratios and if that's true that basically means in a nutshell that there's suddenly an increase in the demand for cash all else considered that's what that means so you've already got cash becoming more strapped in an economy then you add on top of that another power driver for a demand for cash essentially liquidity and that's when you create these conditions that you saw in 2008 so what you're seeing going forward is a potential for a big crunch very soon especially the Federal Reserve surprised me they raised interest rates yet again when inflation's coming down I would have thought they would have just kept them on hold but they raised interest rates yet again so interest rates have gone up in the US and so that's led to even more restriction in future borrowings and as we know in this debt revolving system those borrowings are everything to keep the economy going especially in an economy that's so dependent on that cheap debt fuel base Fiat money and that's not happening so now what we've got going forward is essentially a massive Crunch at least that's what it's looking like so if you guys have been saving your cash and you've been waiting especially if you've been waiting through all of 2021 2022 for a proper bargain to come up then it's already on the way and it looks like things are going to get even cheaper and a lot quicker too and so if you guys haven't seen I recently did a finance video talking about the implications of this I think the used Market is actually going to be more affected by Price drops than the new market so if you're looking for deals used Market's definitely going to provide that so do stay tuned for that but before I get on out here too one thing I noticed actually a couple of things because there's actually one ironic thing that I noticed but I noticed that there's a lot of like thread rippers for sale this month uh high-end thread rippers like they've just been released I noticed there was a lot of 40 90s for sale there was a lot of 7900 xtxs for sale these were used cards too I've actually never seen a 40 90 that cheap on the used Market where it was going for I think a USD adjusted even with the tax off which I could have got it for this month it's going for a high 1400s but even then I was like well that's not a great deal if you're buying used you want to get a solid deal like I think I said earlier in this video but that being said it still is the cheapest 4090 I've seen but it's interesting to see that there was so many of these higher end new parts for sale on the used market and that people are trading them in and wanting to get rid of them so that was actually really surprising on that behalf so I'm wondering what's going on there but one thing and this is where we're going to close off today's video is I did not see one 10th gen I9 for sale any of the stores I checked whether it was brand new or used so what does that tell you guys about 10th gen it means that people unconsciously know that that is one of the best CPUs out there right now so we did a mic drop meant to close off the video but we got the question of the day here which comes from undertone 2472 and they ask so what about some Xeon testing would a large 18 or 22 core x99 do better in your workflow than the 10850k inquiring minds want that Xeon content so I'm going to first of all say I do apologize to the Xeon audience out there I've got to get back into some xeons I actually one thing that we'll mention in this process is that I never see xeons for sale really in Japan it's actually confusing me a lot so I'm gonna have to purchase some bangers use xeons off AliExpress get them in run some tests especially that I've seen X well I've got a next 99 board here now but I also saw an x299 boards they're getting really cheap so maybe we can look at some perhaps if there's some x299 xeons coming up for sale might be able to get a cheap motherboard where I did go into hard off and I did see one for around a little over a hundred dollars but they wouldn't take the tax off and the guy was being like a real stiff so I was like all right man like okay you know if you just straight off the bat if you're gonna be like that so that way you talk to someone I was just like me and my friend were like nah we're out of here and so that was that so kind of like even though it was even if it was a decent deal I do get put off by if someone's just so stiff at a store in terms of their customer service I don't know if that's just me do let us know in the comments what you guys think about that but I will get the Xeon content coming very soon and in terms of it versus the 10850k and with the 108 50k it's just hard to sum it up but it's like it's got the perfect balance between the ring bus lower core count snap and then it's got that Workhorse with it still having 10 cores 20 threads and when you overclock it and you get that high speed ddr4 memory especially since you're running it at a gear one ratio and so the IMC is running really fast too it's just an absolute Powerhouse uh for what I do and that's just snapping clips into Premiere Pro getting video footage done getting the footage that you guys would want to see and making the videos happen and saving the immense amount of time not waiting around and sitting around on my desktop for things to happen so that CPU is an absolute Beast um just a sec motion hey hey guys hi Elizabeth ah so that guys that was my pizza um he's just telling me that the pizza is going to be coming a little bit earlier than expected so I'm like yeah man bring that thing in so uh sorry about that little Interruption there but the 10th gen just has the balance there for what I do snapping things in and getting the work done and it saves me time I'm not spending so much time on an idle desktop this CPU I've just sort of honed in on what's best for me and that's the hard thing when we see reviews out there now you're just seeing reviews that a lot of the times really they're just AFK benchmarks and they don't take into account so many different variables and it's sort of it's it's sort of like changed my perspective in the last few months especially after going to computex and talking to people about all this stuff it's definitely changed my perspective on Tech and I I think lately you may have heard from a lot of different creators that Tech's getting boring and is it that it's so much getting boring or is it that naturally inside what we've talked about before with that unconscious ability that humans have or is it that ability that's naturally instructing someone to be bored and that's sort of the thing that I'm sort of starting to say okay no I'm so I'm going to think about this consciously and start weighing it up and start doing tests and so I don't care if people laugh at me or if they tell me it's unprofessional and whatnot when they don't provide any of their own tests or no one out there is doing this kind of testing to begin with anyway but yeah it's one of those things guys where just do what makes you happy and that's what I'm going to get back to and especially that Xeon content it is going to make me happy when I do it for you I just have to order some of them in thanks for reminding me in the comments and so yes I will get back to it I hope that answers that question and also a big thanks to my friend gomon for Lending me his passport that's actually not his real name that's his nickname we uh we've always called in that since we're teenagers and he just heard the name and he loved it and then he found out what it really meant and he was like well I don't care that name's awesome and we're like this it's just this is an awesome name anyway so uh Gomez big thanks to Goma for Lending me out his passport there absolute mad lad and I'll uh I'll catch you guys in another tech video very soon if you've enjoyed this one and you want to see Jack yes content at the moment it drops be sure to hit that like button hit that sub button ring that Bell and I'll see you in another tech video very soon peace out for now bye\n"
