I Wasted $1000 on THIS.

**Unique Design: A Game-Changer in the Scooter Market**

The Honda Moto compacto is a novel scooter that stands out from the rest due to its unique design. This distinctive feature attracts a lot of attention when riding on the streets or at parks where people are present. Every time I've driven this scooter, people have come up to me and asked about it, with some even expressing their amazement, saying "Oh really? Oh that's pretty good!" while others were more skeptical, remarking "It has a purpose though."

**Weight and Ride Impressions**

One notable aspect of the Moto compacto is its weight, which I estimate to be around 45 pounds. While not light, this is still considered relatively manageable. As for ride impressions, the scooter's top speed is reportedly around 15 mph according to Honda, but in my experience, I've found it to be more like 10-12 mph. Don't expect record-breaking speeds with this scooter, as there are faster options available on the market.

**Range and Performance**

The Moto compacto is rated for about 12 miles of range, which may not be the longest in its class. While I'm no expert on electric scooters, it's likely that other products offer more range. If you're a stickler for performance specs, this might not be the best choice for you.

**Ride Comfort: A Major Concern**

Comfort is where the Moto compacto falls short, particularly when riding over uneven pavement or cracks in the road. The scooter has minimal suspension and small wheels, which can make for an uncomfortable ride. Additionally, the seat is rock hard, making long rides a chore. If comfort is a top priority, this might not be the best choice.

**Value for Money**

Considering the Moto compacto's price tag of $1,000, it's essential to weigh its performance and features against other scooters on the market. While unique design can be a selling point, it may not justify the premium pricing.

**Practicality and Storage**

One redeeming quality of the Moto compacto is its ability to fold flat when assembled. This allows for some storage space while riding, which can be useful for carrying small items like laptops, water bottles, or phones. However, the scooter's narrow design may make it difficult to transport.

**Aesthetics and Maintenance**

While the Moto compacto looks great in its white color, it does show dirt and scuffs easily. A black option might be more practical for hiding stains. The brakes bite well, but there's nothing particularly notable about them.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eninside of this white briefcase is a full-fledged electric scooter it's called the Honda Moto compacto it's got both style and functionality it might be one of my favorite products that I've tried this year and today we're going to talk about why this thing even exists and also what it's like to actually use let's talk about it the Moto compacto might be one of the most unique looking electric scooters you will find in 2024 but the inspiration behind this thing is actually a neat bit of Automotive History back in the 1980s Japan's sprawling Urban centers such as Tokyo were bursting at the seams with people it was to the point where it wasn't uncommon to find residents moving away from the hustle and bustle of the city in favor of the comfort and Tranquility offered by Suburbia on the outskirts of town however what didn't change was the fact that many of these people were still employed in these urban areas resulting in a massive increase in commuter traffic as people try to get to and from work so in 1981 Honda came up with their own solution to this problem it was called the Moto compo a small gas powerered 49cc bike making a whopping 2.5 horsepower with a rectangular plastic body aimed to fold compact enough to sit in the back of a car in fact it was specifically designed to fit in the baggage compartment of the Honda City one of the popular subc compact hatchbacks the company was selling at the time the idea here was that a commuter could drive from their home to a convenient Parking Lot close to their destination unload the Moto compo out of the trunk and use it for their last mile Hall to their workplace now take that concept and modernize it for 2020 4 and what you get is the brand new Honda Moto compacto I'm actually happy that I didn't have to lift the old one out of there because one it probably wouldn't fit the Moto compo was small but it wasn't that small where it would fit in the trunk of a sports car but two the gas powerered boy weighed something like 90 lbs if I had to unload that every single day I'd probably throw my back out by contrast this all electric one is only 42 LB I wouldn't call it feather light per se but it might as well be compared to its internal combustion Brethren as you can imagine once it's on the ground getting the Moto compacto unfolded is a bit of a process there's absolutely a learning curve the first couple of times figuring it out but once you get the muscle memory down down you can get it set up or broken down in under a minute now it's definitely not as fast as unloading a standup electric scooter but personally I think the fact that it can Stow completely flat will be worthwhile for some people all right but enough of the context let's jump on this thing and go for a ride so first things first even just walking up to this scooter once you have it fully built out it is quite unique it is a quirky looking vehicle to start off with and I think that is part of the charm here we're going to talk about riding impressions in just a moment but a lot of the appeal and I think the novelty is just the fact that it doesn't look like any other scooter out there and I think that's pretty cool it is also worth noting that when you are riding along on the street or at a park or something where there are people because of the unique design it does attract quite a bit of attention I've had people every time I've driven this thing come up to me and ask me what it is what it's all about 12 miles oh really oh that's pretty good it's not the fastest it's not the oh no dude it has a purpose though but it weigh I think it's like 45 lb that's not bad not bad at all yeah now on the topic of ride Impressions this scooter has a top speed of about 15 mph at least according to Honda and what it's rated for but in my own experience I found that that on average I get about 10 to 12 mph which is still respectable but don't expect this scooter to break any records don't expect it to be the fastest thing in the world don't get it for the tech specs because you can absolutely get faster scooters out there on the market furthermore the Moto compacto is rated for about 12 M of range now I'm no expert when it comes to electric scooters but I'm almost certain that you can also get more range out out of other products on the market so again just like the speed you probably shouldn't expect the greatest specs out there I think most normal people would be satisfied with both the speed and the range that you get unless you are a stickler about that sort of stuff at which point you probably know what you're looking for anyway now in terms of how it actually feels when you're riding on it the short of the experience is yeah it could be more comfortable so combining the fact that this vehicle does not have much of a suspension at all that could absorb all of the shock that comes with uneven pavement or cracks on the road it also has very small wheels and the firmest of firm seats that you can imagine it is rock hard and what that means is going over any sort of bumps you will feel it in your butt on the list of things that I wish Honda would include with the Moto compacto it would be a CVS gift card so I can buy myself some preparation each oh God man comfort is by far the biggest deal breaker I think people will find with the Moto compacto especially considering the fact that this costs a whopping $1,000 it is not cheap especially compared to other scooters on the market and with the specs that you are getting you really have to want this novelty of having a unique functional design which maybe is the deciding factor for you much like it is for me being able to fit it in the back of my sports car but if they're not for you other than this scooter looking really cool you probably save your money and get something cheaper or get something that offers better ride quality and can go way faster because this scooter folds really flat when you actually assemble it there is quite a bit of space in the Moto compacto itself to Stow things while you are riding along now it is quite narrow but you can fit something like a laptop maybe a water bottle your phone a small bag even which is quite nice also while the scooter looks looks awesome in its white color way I do wish they offered more options because the white as you can imagine driving around can actually pick up a lot of dirt and scuffs now this isn't anything that a magic eraser can't handle but wiping it down from time to time I can imagine will get annoying it would be nice maybe if they had a black option that's a little stealthier to make it easier to hide things like dirt and maybe to have not attract so much attention the brakes bite very well nothing to really write home about but right next to the brake handle you also have a cute Bell also not too uncommon with scooters but it is quite nice let me know what you think about the Honda Moto compacto in the comments below and otherwise thank you for watching this video on deny channel now if you excuse me I'm going to get out of here and get myself some butt cream o put in some
