iOS 10 Beta 2 What's New Organ Donation, UI refinements & More

What's Up Guys: First Look at iOS 10 Beta 2

Hello everyone, it's Device Help here and today we're going to take a closer look at the second beta for iOS 10. This is something that we've all been waiting for, and I'm excited to share some of my thoughts with you guys. The build number for this beta is 14a 5297c, so let's dive right in and see what's new.

The iOS 10 Beta 2 is all about refinement when it comes to the user interface. Apple is targeting a more streamlined experience, and I have to say that they've done a great job. If we take a look at the control center, for example, you'll notice some new icons that are even more refined than before. There's also a bit of tweaking on the flash icon, which I think looks great.

Another area where Apple has made some improvements is with audio inputs and outputs. Now, when you have an iPhone connected to your particular device (such as an Apple TV), you'll see an icon that represents both devices. This makes it easy to manage your audio settings, even when you're using multiple devices at the same time.

Of course, no iOS update would be complete without some changes in the Settings app. One of the new features that I'm excited about is the ability to toggle on and off spotlight search suggestions. This is something that I've mentioned before - it's a feature that can get really annoying when you're searching for something specific and you keep getting suggestions that aren't relevant.

But the good news is that these toggles are now available in the Settings app, so you can easily turn them on or off as you see fit. And if you're interested in learning more about this feature, there's even a new section called "Feedback" where you can provide your thoughts and suggestions. This is a great way for Apple to listen to what users like you want to see in future updates.

One of the features that I was really hoping to see in iOS 10 was dark mode. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be included in this beta. However, there are some other new features that I think are worth mentioning. For example, there's a new "Organ Donor" option available under the Health app, which is something that I'll talk more about later.

But before we get into all that, let's take a look at how iOS 10 Beta 2 performs in terms of performance. I ran some benchmark tests using Geekbench, and here are the results: for single-core scores, iOS 10 Beta 2 comes in at around 2506 - which is a bit lower than the original beta 1, but still very respectable. And when it comes to multicore scores, things look even better, with a score of around 4252.

It's worth noting that these tests do have some margin for error, so take them for what they're worth. But overall, I think it's clear that iOS 10 Beta 2 is performing well and should provide a smooth user experience for most people.

One final thing to mention is the new changes in the Messages app. When you tap on the heart icon, you'll now get a circle that lets you select your desired color. This makes it easy to add some personality to your messages. And if you're an avid picture-taker, you'll love the fact that there's now a camera button right on the Messages screen - no need to navigate through menus to take a photo.

That's about all for today, folks. I hope you enjoyed this first look at iOS 10 Beta 2, and be sure to stay tuned for my follow-up video where we'll be taking a closer look at how the iPhone 5 performs on this updated version of iOS. build number 14a 5297 c now what's new with this beta in this video I'm going to give you a quick overall view of what's new I'm sure a lot of new features are available I'm just going to give you an overall Quick Glance of what's new I'm also going to be filming a follow-up video on the iPhone 5 to see the performance on that as well with this second bet of iOS 10 so let's go and jump right into into and show you what's new with the second beta it looks like apple is targeting refinement refining the OS with this beta in terms of UI so if we go here into the control center and with 3D touch on the timer now we see some new icons here again a little bit more refined icons as well as on the flash you see a little bit of refinement on the icons uh we can also see some of that here on the actual audio inputs and outputs as you can see here you now have an iPhone and an Apple TV if you have those devices connected to the particular device you now get the icon as well now let's go ahead into the settings we don't have a dark mode yet which I was really anticipating and hoping for but what we did get with iOS 10 was some new changes to the spotlight search options here you know have two new options to toggle on or off the spotlight search suggestions and you also have the suggestions for the lookups so when you're searching through this Spotlight search it'll take away some of these uh Spotlight suggestions these toggles are now available here I was really hoping for this to come and it is here now you can get really annoying sometimes when you search and get all these suggestions from everywhere the feedback application appeared on my springboard with the second beta iOS 10 for those of you interested the most rumored organ and donor option is now available under the new health application that Apple introduced with iOS 9 so now here with iOS 10 beta 2 we get an organ donor option available for the software taking a look at the performance with the geekbench test that I ran on iOS beta 1 iOS 10 beta 1 that is which came in at a single course score of 25 531 and for iOS 10 beta 2 it came in at 2506 which a little bit down on the single core score when it comes to multicore score though we got 4252 and on the multicore score we got 4375 so a little bit of an increase here on the multicore performance again these tests do have some margin for errror but it does tell part of the story so it looks like on the multicore score iOS 10 is performing a bit better than its predecessor beta 1 quickly taking a look inside of the messages application I noticed that when you tap on the heart you now get a circle here to select the actual color that you're going to use for your sketches once you select the color and the message is sent it goes back to the circle so you can select there the color that you wish you now have your camera button right there as well so you can go ahe and take a picture or video and go ahead and edit it right there on the go you don't have to actually take a picture first so those are some of the changes inside of the second option everything else seems to be the same if we go into the App Store tab we have a few minor refinements as well inside of here as you can see here now apple add adds a plus button instead of the App Store button for all the extensions that you add onto the device and a new look as well for the search or image tabs as well as you scroll through the device here in the messages application so overall guys minor refinements no big features added to the control center or the dark mode that we're anticipating for iOS 10 none of that has yet been present with iOS 10 hopefully on future betas again if I find more new features I'll be filming those for you guys as of right now this was a quick first look at some of the new things that I've seen so far with the latest beta be sure to stay tuned for the iPhone 5 follow-up video on iOS 10 beta 2 to see how the performance on that device
