Corsair K95 Platinum - Best Gaming Keyboard Ever

The King of the Mountain Keyboard: A Review of the K95 Platinum

Welcome to Tech Yes City, where we put the latest and greatest keyboards to the test. Today, we're reviewing the K95 Platinum, a keyboard that comes with a hefty price tag, but promises top-notch performance and features. The K95 Platinum is no exception to this promise, as it boasts a custom switch from Cherry, Label DMX speed, which is a linear key with no feedback, and actsuate at a higher point, one point two millimeters.

The keyboard itself features core says bold font over abs key caps, adding an air of sophistication to the overall design. The RGB lighting is also quite elegant, reflecting off the milled black anodized alloy that extends around the front of the keyboard. The top of the keyboard features the Corsair logo and another RGB stripe for extra elegance. One of the standout features of this keyboard is its included wrist rest, which is both soft and firm to it, providing a comfortable typing experience.

To test the keyboard's performance, we conducted a quick noise test on those switches, which revealed no issues with durability or sound quality. The keyboard comes with a 2-meter braided cable that splits into two ends, one of which is a USB pass-through with the rear of the keyboard featuring the port you also get an additional ten included grey rugged grip coated keys and a key cap puller.

The software accompanying this keyboard is quite impressive, offering options to change individual backlighting layers and even opaque settings. It's almost like having Photoshop editing capabilities for your keyboard. Users can save and change profiles on the fly from the software too, as well as update the firmware or contact Corsair's customer support if they have any issues.

The keyboard at the top has extra function keys like brightness settings which come in three different levels of 33%, 66%, and 100% or completely off. The back lighting has an "time look" to it that glows through the letters and numbers, and features many different patterns to choose from, which can be layered on this keyboard to have many different effects going at the same time with different levels of peeking.

One of the most notable features of this keyboard is its ability to customize the function keys. The extra six keys being able to be remapped allowed us to have more options available and also had our friend tell me they love Corsair keyboards because of the proximity of the F1 to F4 keys being so close to the numbers and movement keys, that they can reliably use them in twos and threes.

We tested the keyboard in games, including World of Warcraft, where we found it worked flawlessly even with a pro arena wall. We also tested it in CSGO and found the N key roll-over feature worked perfectly, surviving the crazy spam test that we threw at it with flying colors.

So, is this keyboard worth the hefty price tag? For those who simply want the best keyboard, bar none, especially for gaming, I absolutely love the speed consistency build quality and software associated with this keyboard. You get what you pay for, and in this case, you're getting a top-notch keyboard with standout points such as one point two millimeter actuation, extremely comfortable wrist rest, and a solid and consistent build quality that expanded to each individual key.

Additionally, the keyboard comes in an all-black design which is quite sleek. However, it's worth noting that there are also gunmetal grey options available for those who don't like the old black design. While some may prefer the real force RGB keyboard, as branded by me as the best keyboard ever, I still prefer the real force keys which have feedback and find myself making less typos on them.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a top-notch gaming keyboard that offers speed, consistency, build quality, and software features, then this might be the keyboard for you. It's worth noting that Corsair has quite simply nailed it with the K95 Platinum.
