**Autumn Reading List: Excited for Creepy Non-Fiction and More**
As October approaches, I find myself getting excited about my upcoming reading list. This month, I'm looking forward to diving into some creepy non-fiction books that will surely send chills down my spine. I've always been fascinated by true crime stories, and the thought of immersing myself in a well-researched and disturbing tale has me eager to start reading.
Kendrick is so disturbed, what are you reading? oh my goodness the last book on October 10th is the power by Naomi alderman I am so excited to finally read this book oh my goodness last year I was in Kentucky visiting my parents and I had gone off by myself to go get Starbucks and I'm sitting in this endless line through the drive-through and I'm listening to this person talk about this unknown book called the power and how she loved it now it was amazing and so from that December I was like oh when's that coming out and I realized it was like 9 months until it was coming out I've been waiting that long to get my hands on this book I could not be more thrilled.
**The Power by Naomi Alderman**
For me, October is the perfect time to delve into a thought-provoking and unsettling read. The Power by Naomi Alderman has been on my list for quite some time now, and I'm excited to finally dive into its pages. This book tells the story of a world where women suddenly develop the ability to release electrical jolts from their fingertips, allowing them to dominate and control society. I've heard so many great things about this book, and I'm eager to explore its unique premise.
One of my favorite books from last year was actually about this very book. I had gone off by myself to get Starbucks in Kentucky, listening to a podcast about an unknown book called The Power. It's been months since then, and I finally got the chance to pre-order it on release day. Can't wait to dive in!
**I Am NOT Your Perfect Mexican Daughter**
My next book is actually out now, titled I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sanchez. This young adult novel tells the story of a girl named Julia, whose sister Olga seems like the perfect Mexican daughter to their parents. But when Olga dies under mysterious circumstances, Julia's world is turned upside down. As she navigates her grief and tries to uncover the truth about her sister's death, Julia discovers that there's more to her sister than meets the eye.
I've had my eye on this book forever. We put it on our list for Hispanic Heritage Month because we were so excited about it. The cover is stunning, and I love how diverse the cast of characters is. I'm looking forward to diving into Julia's story and exploring the complexities of Mexican-American identity.
**Where the Past Begins: A Writer's Memoir**
Another book that I'm thrilled about is Amy Tan's new memoir, Where the Past Begins. As a huge fan of The Joy Luck Club, I've always been fascinated by Amy Tan's writing life. This memoir promises to take readers on a journey through her childhood, family history, and writing career. I love how the title hints at the idea that our past shapes us in ways we can't even imagine.
I'm a huge fan of Amy Tan's work, and I've always wanted to read more about her life outside of her fiction. This memoir promises to be a deeply personal and introspective exploration of Tan's writing journey. I'm excited to see what insights she'll share with us, and how we can learn from her experiences.
**The Book of Dust**
Finally, my last book for October is Philip Pullman's The Book of Dust. As a huge fan of His Dark Materials, I've been waiting for this sequel for years. This trilogy promises to be just as epic as the original series, with complex characters and multiple plotlines that will keep me on the edge of my seat.
I was obsessed with His Dark Materials as a teenager, and I still love listening to the audiobook versions. The world-building is so rich and detailed, and I love how Pullman explores themes of power, identity, and morality. This trilogy promises to be just as thought-provoking and engaging, and I'm excited to see where it takes us.
**Knopf Books for Young Readers**
All of these books are being published by Knopf Books for Young Readers, which is a testament to the publisher's commitment to publishing high-quality literature for young readers. Whether you're interested in non-fiction, fiction, or memoirs, there's something on this list for everyone.
