The Apple Swift 5: A Thin and Light Gaming Laptop with a Bang

As we take a closer look at the Apple Swift 5, it's clear that this laptop is designed for gamers who want to enjoy their favorite titles without sacrificing portability. The specs inside are impressive, considering how thin and lightweight this laptop is. While some might say it looks similar to last year's model, there's actually more to it than meets the eye.

One of the standout features of the Swift 5 is its display. With a 14-inch, 1080p screen that's also touchscreen-enabled, you'll be able to enjoy immersive gaming experiences on-the-go. But what really sets this laptop apart is its matte finish – a rarity in the world of laptops. This feature will be music to the ears of creative types who hate dealing with glare and reflections from glossy screens.

Of course, no laptop is complete without some port options. The Swift 5 delivers with a full-size USB-A port, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a Thunderbolt 3 port – a rare sight in laptops this thin. On the other side of the laptop, you'll find another full-size USB port, a headphone jack, and a DC charger for when you need to top up your battery.

But what really gets us excited is the performance inside this laptop. With Intel's 10th Gen Core i7 processor and the MX 350 graphics card, this Swift 5 promises to deliver on gaming performance. According to Apple, this laptop can provide up to 12 hours of battery life – an improvement over last year's model.

But wait, there's more! The Swift 5 also comes with Wi-Fi 6, which promises faster and more reliable connectivity. And, for those interested in the future of laptops, Intel's Project Athena is being touted as a new standard for ultrabooks. According to Intel, this project aims to deliver guaranteed SSDs, touchscreens, Wi-Fi 6, and more – making it a game-changer for laptop buyers.

We've also got to talk about the Swift 5's design. While some might say it looks similar to last year's model, we can assure you that there's actually more to this laptop than meets the eye. The magnesium alloy chassis is both lightweight and durable, and the blue color scheme gives it a sleek look.

One thing that does stand out about the Swift 5 is its portability. We've been putting laptops through their paces for years now, but this one takes the cake. It's so thin and light that we can practically slip it into our backpacks and run away with it – well, maybe not literally, but you get the idea.

Of course, no laptop is perfect, and there are a few things that could use some improvement. For example, having three USB ports means you'll need to bring your own adapter for charging your phone on-the-go. But overall, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise impressive device.

So, what do we think of the Swift 5? We're excited to dive deeper into its performance and features, but for now, it's clear that this laptop has all the makings of a gaming powerhouse – at least, once you get inside.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys Anton the tech chap and this is the new Asus Swift five honestly picking this up it's insane how light it is we're looking at just 990 grams is about 15 mil thick and is a 14 inch laptop but more impressive than that because the Swift v lineup has always been please thin and light it's a lot more powerful this comes with Intel's 10th gen ice Lake processors which also has their Intel iris + graphics so significantly more powerful and that's kind of where I thought it would stop iris + graphics much more powerful than the current integrated Intel graphics but no they've also managed to cram in and in billion MX 250 so that's a big step up from last year and you'll get away with some light gaming obviously better for video editing photo editing and given just how thin unlike this is given the specs inside it's actually pretty impressive so while ISA are saying the Swift 5 comes with the MX 350 the cheaper options may just have Intel's integrated iris plus which is still a big step up from last year but we'll have to see what kind of SKUs we end up with the Swift 5 now looking a rather laptop it looks pretty similar to last year we've got this magnesium alloy chassis in this blue color I think they also showed off a white one which looks really nice you've got a 14 inch 1080p screen it is also a touchscreen and actually want my favorite features is that it's a matte screen you don't see that very often and if you are creative sort of person you're appreciating not getting loads of glare and reflections from a glossy screen but Austin do you ruin the tankmen get Austin what do you think of the sweat 5 it looks really cool so I like how lightweight it is some on their pick so I have to put the stupid TDP sticker on it no one cares I don't want to look at the stupid stick around my laptop that's your biggest criticism I thing will be right besides that it's good see we also get a fingerprint reader nut supports Windows hello so you can quickly unlock it with your finger and the port selection is pretty good as well again given how thin this is we've got hdmi 2.0 a full size USB 3 funderbolt 3 as well usually on these sort of laptops you just get a type-c USB but this is full fat Thunderbolt 3 so you can plug in high-res monitors maybe even a mixed or graphics card if you need a bit more wet horsepower and on the other side we have another full-size USB a third a half mil headphone jack and the power I guess one thing I would've liked to see is maybe USB see front of all three charging so you could sort of take one less adapter with you and use it for your phone but now we still have a dedicated DC charger so we think you need to get caught up in the performance the specs and also sort of how light it is but there's a few other new features including Wi-Fi six that comes with Intel's 10th gen isolate processor one tenth gems more than just a sort of CPU boost it comes with a whole range of new Souls upgrades one of which doesn't say Wi-Fi six so we should get much better connectivity and more reliable Wi-Fi which is something I think we can all appreciate an on-stage when a CEO announced its they also brought out an Intel rep and they talked about project Athena now I'm not sure if you've heard of Athena Intel talking about it all the time but it's kind of like ultrabook 2.0 didn't go as far as say this officially meets the spec but they kind of implied it dead or it was closed at least and proteges thenat is current like a new standard you have guaranteed SSD touchscreen Wi-Fi 6/10 gem processor sort of all the things that you'd want for a good ultrabook laptop like this according to asa we're looking at about 12 and 1/2 hours of battery which is an improvement of a last year although of course in real life we'll see if it actually gets anything close to that but it does also support fast charging which is handy if you need a quick top-up so first impressions are well it kind of looks and feels similar to last year and the year before this is a really thin and light laptop but really it's the upgrade inside the hardware boost the extra performance that's really solve the new feature on the 2019 Swift vibe and they needed to be honest beforehand we were relying on Intel's 8th gen new series integrated graphics which was nothing to write home about now we've got the 10th gen and the MX 250 so this should be a little powerhouse actually which is surprising just given how portable it is now I'm going to try and slip this in my backpack and run away with it so I can give you a full review I'm not sure off security will let me but yeah I can't wait to review this properly so make sure you do hit a like and subscribe and stay tuned for that coming very soon and let me know what you make of the Swift 5 in the comments and if you haven't already seen my new Swift sailing video which I posted a few weeks ago that actually is the world's thinnest and
