How I am Buying 3 C8 Corvettes for $200,000

**Specifying Cars: A Guide to Making Informed Decisions**

When it comes to specifying cars, especially high-performance vehicles like Corvettes and Bentleys, there are many options to consider. However, not all options are created equal, and some may be more practical than others. In this article, we'll explore how to spec cars in a way that makes sense for your needs and budget.

**Corvettes: A Case Study**

When it comes to specifying Corvettes, the most important thing is to consider the performance level of the car. The Z06 package, for example, is a performance-based option that many people are attracted to. However, when it comes to standard options like seats and interior trim, it's often unnecessary to spend money on them. "I definitely did the z51 on the cars and then everything else is just color combo it doesn't really matter nobody's not gonna want it because of the seat combination or something like that," says one Corvette owner. As a result, many people opt for the minimum amount of options required, with lift kits, bumpers, and sensors being essential additions.

**Bentleys: Luxurious Options**

When it comes to specifying Bentleys, the focus is often on luxury and comfort. The Mulliner package, which includes quilted seats, is a popular choice among Bentley owners. "The quilted seats give a presentation that makes the car feel much more luxurious," says one owner. However, beyond this, there are many other options to consider. "Bentley's what options do you need there's a hundred things you could do to customize a Bentley I don't buy them new but..." According to our expert, there are only a few essential options that make sense.

**Resale Value: A Key Consideration**

When it comes to specifying cars, resale value is an important consideration. Options like stripes and interior trim may be nice to have, but they're not necessarily worth the cost in terms of resale value. "I'll never see it back I don't get it back on resale and neither will you," says our expert. This means that spending money on options that don't add significant value to the car can be a waste.

**Specifying Cars: A Personal Approach**

For many people, specifying cars is a personal approach that involves considering their individual needs and preferences. Our expert recommends using online tools like the Chevrolet configurator to spec out a car. "I get pretty much the minimum amount of options there's options you must get right with this you need the lift kit like all of these exotics are..." By prioritizing essential options and minimizing unnecessary upgrades, owners can create a car that meets their needs without breaking the bank.

**The Ultimate Spec: A Corvette C8 Convertible**

When it comes to specifying cars, some people may want to push the limits and create an ultimate spec. Our expert recently configured a Corvette C8 convertible with a range of high-performance options, including the Z06 package. "I need that I need that I need that all of the stuff or most of the options that come with the car that aren't standard or aren't performance-based..." According to our expert, the result was an incredibly powerful and capable car.

in the description what's up everybody Rob Freddie yes I'm wearing a heat a jacket tie you know they're worth it the heated vest keeps you warm keeps you comfortable nothing to do with today's video but it is something that I like behind me I've got a Corvette now there's two things here I just realized that I'm spending a little over two hundred thousand dollars on Corvettes this year I've got three C eights on order for the rental fleet two coops one convertible the two coupes the first ones being produced like I think production date is February 24th so I should have it in the middle of March the second one shouldn't be that far behind and then the third one I got is a convertible which will be coming later in the summer maybe early fall which I'll sell one of the coupes have - at any point in time maybe three for a little bit but I'll have two coupes one convertible and then ultimately one coupon convertible and I realized that I don't really talk about how you order a car spec a car buy a car for an exotic car company or just in general a lot of people get too caught up in the minutiae of orders you go to that online order configurator you're like yes yes yes check this out I just specked out a hundred and thirteen thousand dollar Corvette it's a first year base model car why are you gonna spend one hundred and thirteen thousand dollars on it's gonna be worth 40 grand really quickly and when I say really quickly after the hype dies down you'll notice that I bought the Supra the Supra luckily was a launch edition didn't have a lot of options flopped colossal II it was it was a terrible car even people you don't even talk about people like excited to drive it anymore I feel like that's come and gone there was hype on that car for a minute like the NSX oh cool anyway now sex is out and it just dies off real quick the Corvette not this one behind me but the c8 Corvette is a completely different story the c8 will be a popular car and I know it's gonna be a popular car because there's just so much more substance there there wasn't a lot of substance with the Supra wasn't a lot of substance with the NSX there's definitely a little hype but there's actually substance there now you look at a car like this and you're like oh cool that's a zo6 you know what that's exactly what it is it's the 0-6 convertible to go out and spend a hundred and thirteen thousand dollars in a car that's just gonna be a regular car in in a couple of months is sort of nonsense and I get that it's fun but when you look at this car you're gonna look and say like oh cool like that's and obviously it's filthy just came back from rental but this is a zo6 convertible yeah you don't you don't really notice anything about it you don't say like oh wait wait a second you don't have the carbon-fiber rear wing no we've got a painted rear wing you know why you don't need anything beyond that you look in here it's a Corvette interior it's nobody rents cars and and a lot of people overthink this when they rent or buy when they buy a car for either the rental fleet or something that perfect example let me go find it that they need these things so I think it's cool so everyone else is gonna think it's cool look at this this right here is an unused or oh I mean it was came with the car but an s550 steering wheel right this this steering wheel right here was something that when we bought the s550s probably like 2010 I think was it was the year Noah insisted that we had to buy it with the wood steering wheel right oh we can't buy one with a with a leather steering wheel we need to everybody wants the wood steering though oh I don't think anyone cares bought the car dealer said they would get us the wood steering wheel for four or five months AR they forgot the wood steering really and we got to get the wood steering wheel nobody said a damn thing nobody cared nobody cared about the wood steering wheel versus the leather steering wheel and eventually they put the wood steering wheel on that one went there nobody's nobody's response to the car was any different here this cars got a ton of options and this is slightly different because it's obviously a gt2 RS but something like that the options make a difference you get these paint two samples and all these wacky colors but you sort of get your money back when you go to sell it wouldn't let's say the market on the car is just like three hundred and fifty thousand oh but that's a paint to sample with no miles on it I'll give you four hundred I can see that but for something that's going to be a rental that something is gonna be used even when I go buy cars I'm not looking for special options there there is nobody and maybe I'm just a used-car guy but you go in and it is what it is it's like you're never gonna find a perfect car to build a perfect car they eat half these people turn around and lease it and give it back anyway you know spending all this extra money and you can amortize it over the months of ownership you spent an extra $80 a month to have stitching in your headrest I mean that's absurd to me and that's why when I spec these cars I'll go out the C eights for example I've got three of them a little over two hundred thousand dollars the most expensive one is the convertible obviously coming in at 74 grand the other two I can't even tell you what colors they are I remember ordering them and and when I did this is all made perfect sense but I can't tell you what color is there it's gonna be a whole surprise when it comes in the only things I remembered that the car needed and I go through them like dope don't need that don't need that if there's fifty options you could put on the car I put five this Lambo here not one person sees this Lambo and and saying that thing is awesome it's a Lamborghini convertible I didn't expect these cars but both of these cars the one that crashed and then this is now the replacement came out and it was quintessentially Lambo like the stitching the steering wheel everything you want but it's not overdone with options you could easily dumped eighty thousand dollars in options on this car the only car I've ever dumped heavy options like that was my 48 and I sort of had to in order to get the early allocation that was one of those things like yeah you gotta you got to put some good options and then the dealer is incentivized to give you the allocation because they make money on the options they make money on the sale but everywhere else with these Corvettes I mean I definitely did the z51 on the cars and then everything else is just color combo it doesn't really matter nobody's not gonna want it because of the seat combination or something like that so the only thing you can do is waste money when you buy options half the people especially like people like me I bought that Corvette over there it doesn't matter what options I put in the damn thing I ended up ripping it apart and it's a race car now and a lot of guys do that they buy these cars and then they modified under the bejeezus anyway so how do I spec cars I get pretty much the minimum amount of options there's options you must get right with this you need the lift kit like all of these exotics are the low front ends practical options that make sense lift kits I'm trying to think bumper sensors rear backup cameras stuff like that makes sense everything beyond that is nonsense Bentley's what options do you need there's a hundred things you could do to customize a Bentley I don't buy them new but the Mulliner package pretty much the only thing I'd spend money on in a Bentley because the quilted seats and it's the same thing with the g-class over there the quilted seats give a presentation that makes the car feel much more luxurious and that will help in the resale value but there's a dozen things you could do to save money on these cars but at the end of the day I may get cars with these options I may rent cars with these options but I'm not paying for them somebody else paid for them and then they lose that money when they turn around and sell it to me they don't get any for return for those options so I've got the I think both of my CC eights and you go try to plug in your see it all obviously when they come in and I find out what I put on them I'll be able to show you but like it's just hey I need you to spec your c8 okay click click click send it and that's what I do but when they come in I'll take a look if you go try to spec a c8 right now I guarantee most people are going to come in for a coop tie 60s probably 70 grand and most people that are coming in for convertibles are gonna be probably around $80,000 oh yeah I like that I like that we don't need the stripes we don't need the anything that that though oh yeah I need that I need that I need that all of the stuff or most of the options that come with the car that aren't standard or aren't performance-based zo6 is a performance-based option that is not people will people spend spend money or be more attracted to a 0-6 and they will be a regular c7 or any generation Corvette that's worth it but when it comes down to the options within those models it doesn't make a lot of sense to spend very much money because I'll never see it back I don't get it back on resale and neither will you so think about it go check out the Chevrolet com there's a little build thing you can spec out a car post in the comments what your build came up - I'll do my exact sticker price and maybe I'll do a giveaway when the cars come like whoever can guess the sticker price closest will win something but that's essentially how I spec out cars I don't waste money because ultimately nobody cares and that's the thing everybody thinks everybody cares and that fudge and steering wheel over here just proves that nobody gives a damn if anyone needs a lightly you know I'm gonna give this steering wheel away so whoever guesses and this is I know cuz I have it still on my screen whoever guesses my Corvette c8 convertible build spec or whatever the closest to price down to the penny whoever guesses that will win this steering wheel hopefully you have an s550 if you don't you could on eBay or I could sign it and you can hang it on your wall whatever you want that's what I got Rob Ferretti thanks for watching go have fun building a Corvette it's a great car I'm like super excited there's part of me that will buy one myself but I'll probably wait to see the zo6 comes out personally but that's what I got thanks for watching see
