Although it's not traditional Bluetooth pairing, we get to customize how we want to be notified by default. When it connects, we receive a message, and when it disconnects, we also receive a notification. The device keeps a log of where we are, so if we've just noticed that we've lost our keys, it will track the connection loss and help us find them.
