county though lancaster lancaster you can say in both ways anyway so yes it's true i'm moving this is the biggest change in my life in a very very long time i was born in texas but i pretty much grew up in new jersey so i've never really officially lived in pa where to the point where i could actually experience the state and what it has to offer i say that because i believe i technically lived in pa for a little while just as a little little smidgen david um but i don't remember a thing so i wanted to use today's opportunity screen saver to talk about the move and answer some of your questions that came up in the comments on the weekend vlog because you know me i'm all about transparency so let's do this i'm getting ready so how did this begin well this all started i think towards the end of july i'm pretty sure i was watching an episode of lost and my mom and dad call me and i say david we have a unique opportunity for you how do you feel about moving to lancaster now second no i i can't just move to lancaster but then i thought again it's like wait a minute i literally have nothing holding me back here i'm not raising a family i mean it's not like i have kids running around i can literally work from anywhere as long as i have an internet connection and yes i do the internet in lancaster pa so i was thinking david why not and you'd be so freaking close to sheets call me weird but that's like in my top five reasons of why i'm excited about moving not everyone can understand convenience stores and why we love them so much on the east coast but yes we love convenience stores especially me okay so the phone call went on for a little bit um long story short my parents explained to me the kind of unique living situation that we could take part in uh so basically there was a main house and then there was a barn and i was like whoa whoa whoa hold on i'm going to be living in a barn that just sounds weird but no it's technically a house i mean it looks like a barn it probably was a barn years ago but the upstairs is a house and the downstairs is a workshop area so the more my parents told me about it the more i was interested we applied for the mortgage and all that stuff very long going process so i was fully on board i was like yes let's do this and fast forwarding to today um the houses well the houses are pretty much ours getting email everywhere i say pretty much because it's not final until it's final but the houses should be ours so yeah i mean i'm very very excited about this move because i need a change in my life i mean i'm not unhappy in life but i could always be happier and i think this change is gonna help with that i mean i've always been curious about living a different state i mean i want to live in a different state i would love to live in pa it's beautiful the landscapes are just downright amazing i would be close to sheets i would be in lancaster county which is just filled with a ton of history which means video opportunities for me and you guys right i mean come on more content you can't argue that and i'll actually be local to a lot of places i have not been local to places in years i can literally step out of my new house and walk one minute down the street to the creamery one of several coffee shops something's moving in my kitchen actually scared me a little bit so yes video opportunities are going to be huge with this new house and of course within the house itself i'm going to be completely redoing my style in terms of tech reviews i really want to mix tech with vlogs somehow i don't want to do the whole pros and cons things with tech reviews and saying it does this it does that let's talk about specs now i want to do what i'm doing now with my weekend vlogs but make those into kind of like a stylized tech review if that makes sense i'll talk about that more in the future okay so going back to the whole historic town and living in lancaster living in strasbourg think i have one ultimate goal in mind eventually at some point in my youtube career i want to be referred to as hey that's that guy from lancaster that's the guy from strasbourg i want to dominate social media youtube in particular when it comes to people searching for lancaster and strasbourg because if you search seaside heights right now i kind of dominate page one i'm not saying that to sound cocky or anything it's just i'm so proud of the keyword uh dominance that i have on seaside heights and i want to do what i did for seaside heights but for lancaster and strasbourg and i don't see why not i don't think there's any other youtubers i mean at least within that immediate area uh that take youtube as seriously as i do so that's my long-term goal i want to dominate that area in terms of uh youtube so anyway let's move forward i'm talking a little more than i wanted to um let me address one question that came up a couple times or a couple insults rather david you're downgrading your life you're moving back beneath your parents life fail i i continue to be amazed i continue to be amazed by the fact that there are so many people out there who fail to listen to details when did i ever say in the weekend vlog that i'm moving back in with my parents i never gave even a hint of moving back in with my parents those days are behind me i am independent nowadays i love living my own i love having my own place so no i'm not moving back in with my parents i'm not sure what gave some people that idea i mean at some point way way way in the future yes i could be right there local to my parents but as of right now the bigger house is their weekend house they're not going to permanently live there i don't know why i quoted that until like 9 or 10 years from now but until then it's going to be just me monday through sunday monday through sunday monday through sunday that's my new permanent living arrangement at least for the next few years at the bare minimum yes my parents will be visiting pretty much every weekend because it's going to be their weekend house think like driftwood but not during the summer that's our new weekend thing to do so no i'm not moving back into my parents i'm not sure what gave some people that idea so there you go anyway how far will i be from my current house um about like an hour and ten minutes so yeah it's pretty far enough where i'm completely on my own out there uh which is great for me it's great life experience sometimes i just gotta get away and do things on my own so i'm excited about that i'm a little nervous about being that far but i'm a lot more excited than i am nervous plus if you're not nervous about anything in life then you probably need to make some changes because it's okay to be nervous if you're nervous about something that probably means it's a good thing it's worth being nervous about so i embrace change i say bring it on i cannot wait and by the way i'm looking at my ipad down here another question that came up in the weekend vlog comments um this wasn't that common but i had one or two people asking david how will you raise a family in that small house i'm not expecting to raise a family it's just me and maui i mean concern is moving to lancaster and enjoying the hell out of it i cannot wait i mean it's a fresh start i get to redo my office again i get to redo my living room i have a bigger and much much more modern kitchen i cannot wait to hang out on my back deck like for many hours of the day with a beautiful landscape behind me and i will be using that many times for videos i can promise you that i'm gonna be right there near sheets rudders which is a place i just heard of a few days ago there's one going right behind my house a brand new location was within 10 minutes yes i saw a couple of people say david there's no wawa in lancaster yes there's a wawa in lancaster i've been to it several times it's only like 10 minutes from me this is simply the beginning of something huge the biggest change in my life in so many years a completely new house yeah it's a little smaller than what i have now but i'm willing to trade off like a single room for that deck out back in a bigger kitchen a bigger bathroom and just a more modern house overall i don't dislike it here i love it here i'm extremely thankful for the last four years that i've lived here but this new house has power outlets everywhere and i know that sounds weird but my fellow tech geeks know exactly what i'm talking about no longer do i have to worry about running extension cords from corner to corner just because i want to hook up a monitor in my cubes or something like that no there are four kitchen counters compared to the one i have now there's like 10 or 12 cabinets compared to what two or three that i have now so yes
